+1 Grixis Grimblade. Thrax's homeboy. Deathtouch keeps low drops relevant, and he's a zombie.

Sorry, I had a bit.... of a hidden agenda here.

There's no need to hide things on this forum. People pretend to care, but no one really cares.

I laughed so much I spat my drink all over my keyboard.

Turn 1: Duress your land, Surgical extraction that land. GG's, thanks for showing up bro!

    Encroach
Works the same way, since surgical doesn't hit basics.

So basically the argument is good in EDH? I mean. Go try ramping liliana in a legit legacy game. Good luck.. really good freakin luck.

Its good in edh bro its all goood

This liliana is actually pretty bad for EDH. Or any multiplayer game actually. Her only method of protecting herself is killing herself. Her best use is as a pump spell in monoblack infect, and Lashwrithe does it so much better.
I could see a deck where she'd be really good, actually. Veldrane of Sengir EDH. She ramps you up to hollow dogs and hyalopterous lemure

Wow. Three awesome cards at once.
I like a 2/1 for 1 with a good ability but it screams "Hose Snappy" too much to me.

I really like this card. Cheap regenerating creature done right for playability in draft.
I like this keyword, but its limited to one +1/+1 counter? Good for cheap creatures but how do you make it work for the high end ones? Looking forward to successful Rakdos cards.

Experience in a draft format has a curve that works as a plateau sort of chart. Your first games in the format teach you a lot about it, and as you go along, you keep learning less and less until you've pretty much seen everything it has to offer.
Dismissing things as luck is a good way to make your draft experience ripen in this way. I like to sit and think about why I won or lost and what daring choices that I made. This is why I like drafting online more than in paper. Paper magic, friends get in the way... I end up more interested in how they do, you know? But on MTGO everything is in my computer screen and I can stand back and see what went wrong, or cool things I was able to do/ were done to me, more often.

Leaden Myr, Fellwar Stone, Worn powerstone all respectable options. Liliana of the Dark realms actually might have a home here for funzies.

Is it going to be the old aggro deck vs. control deck, or is Tibalt's deck going to be a combo deck? That'd be refreshing.

I originally thought mythics were a great idea for flavor. Big bomby legendary creatures with the mythic tag (i.e. Kresh, Sharuum, etc), they were pretty cool. Then Lotus Cobra was printed. Lotus Cobra, Geist of St. Traft, Huntmaster, etc. These were cards that decks were running 4-ofs at a rarity slot that we were told this would not happen. If Hasbro want's mythics, that's fine, but what they choose to print at Mythic.

I'm not against mythics, I just wish they did a better job at regulating what becomes a mythic.

Because "only Timmy deserves mythic cards." Right? Why should any card of that rarity be under six mana?

I did this in TSP limited, and it was a hell of a lot of fun. Its a rare occurence that you get to manascrew someone who drew plenty of lands in a draft.
I don't like how soft it looks to be to storm/infect decks, though, am I seeing it wrong?

To put it another way, when Pro player cards, rules inset, checklists and whatnot are found in packs, it creates a niggling feeling in some players. "I wish this were a card I can play instead." This feeling persists even if the extra card is just that--extra. Getting a ticket, for someone who doesn't play MTGO and has no easy way of trading for it, is like getting a pro player card.

Are you crazy? Eugene Harvey is the best card ever, he just wins the game with his insane cocky grin.

Really though, this sounds like it would have been a good idea when MTGO was first starting, but its big enough now that free stuff isn't going to sway people over as much as word of mouth, so why should Wizards have to? I mean, it'd be a nice jesture, but they really do already give out tons of "free" things on mtgo.

Did you miss the part where Lotus Guardian has an activated ability? Also remember that it was printed in Invasion, over a decade ago. Things have changed a lot since then in terms of creature efficiency, availability of artifact creatures, etc.

A useless activated ability, only on the card for flavor reasons, and not worth the extra 1. Does anyone agree with me there?

There was a time when you could play a colorless 7 drop on turn 3 with Urza lands, but I wouldn't want a 7 drop for color fixing regardless personally...

Anyway, Lotus Guardian wouldn't make it as a rare today, would it? I think they would change the name and funtionally reprint it as uncommon. Don't know if Urzatron decks being standard legal would change any of that.

Lotus Guardian would be rare under any other name, too. I don't know what you're getting at.

Lotus guardian is a bad Lumengrid Gargoyle. Should gargoyle have been a rare?

I dunno, I actually like this as a Mox. It is a 0-mana ramper, after all.
    [/COLOR]

When I think of Mox, I think "fast mana." This mana is anything but fast. That's why I'd call it "Powerstone Pebble" or something. It really takes the right format for this one to outperform something like a signet or other cheap common or uncommon mana stone that adds mana right away.

I'd run Erratic Portal over Umbilicus. Opponents can often just as easily profit from Umbilicus as you can.
