They're not strcictly worse, got one in your opening hand and want to make a first turn play, the shock will let you do it for two life, the core set dual says no.

Never said strictly, just generally. Standard is kind of turn-3/4 focused right now. Buddy lands are good for that.
These lands will complement buddy lands well, though.

They are actually worse than Core Set duals without fetches in the format, minus some interactions like Arbor Elf

If its in your hand, you can cast it for its normal cost. The command zone is the only place these costs apply from.
However, if it gets shuffled in, then tutored for, then bounced, then exiled, then Pull from eternity'd, then bojuka bog'd, then pull from eternity'd again, then reanimated, then destroyed and sent to the command zone, i don't know how much it would cost to cast it from the command zone.

I'd be worried only if the deposit was twenty feet under my house. Most of these are far underneath the earth's surface, however.
Really doesn't compare to the perfectly safe salt mine digging out three and a half miles under Lake Erie.
It's pretty illegal to dump waste into unauthorized areas, by the way. At least, where I live. Are the people doing this just making so much profit that they can afford to pay off these huge fines and still make a quick buck?

    No limit,
    Yes,
    And yes.

Exalted does not cap off at a certain number. Each permanent with exalted triggers and goes on the stack. Creatures with multiple instances of exalted (say you had out a Knight of Glory and Sublime Archangel, Knight would have "exalted, exalted") trigger once for each instance.

Tapped lands with constant abilities don't "turn off." 'Continuous Artifacts' from magic's early days used to, like Howling Mine. They don't do this anymore. This was a rule change early in Magic's history. Check out the differences between Howling Mine printings! It's been errata'd to function the way it did in the old rules.

  • posted a message on Why is Rakdos so poor in RTR?
The reason Unleash is such a poor mechanic is that unleashed creatures in Black or Red are really only as good on the offense as a normal creature from another color. This hasn't changed in higher rarities yet.

Aurora is bad at telling lies. He also underestimates the power of Bounce. Why, this one time, I was bouncin along, and Aurora was there, and he totally got paralyzed for the rest of the game, and he's still butt-hurt.

I would send out Golden Rules Tickets in random booster packs. The five lucky recipients would be offered a tour of the fanciful factory where magic cards are painstakingly crafted by orange midgets.

I don't mind having one for the sideboard, but I don't prioritize the thing. I'd typically take another dude or a more common sideboard a la Naturalize, but I really don't mind seeing one say with 6 cards left in the pack and nothing else.
I haven't played one in the main once yet, though.

I don't much like playing across from Animar. It devolves into a simple game of "kill him and win on the spot, don't kill him, hope someone else can." He's pretty much the only general I've seen rage-quit on turn 3 more than once online. Was it the same person each time? I forget.

Pikachugundam has severe allergic reactions whenever he is exposed to plants of any kind. First the skin on his armpits festers and swells up, then he begins vomiting profusely.

Vorosh is a pretty terrible creature to build around. You'd be better off with Mimeoplasm.
Pheldagriff has a pretty bad reputation and you might find yourself the board's target with few ways to defend yourself.

Fair enough...Perhaps legacy is the place to make it work. I just figured vintage has the best chance of getting it out on T1 since FOW is legal in both formats anyways, and vintage has all the extra 0 to cast mana sources available.

It's honestly too bad white and blue don't have something that's equivalent to elvish spirit guide and simian spirit guide.

Try a blue/X affinity deck in Modern with Erayo and ravager in the same deck Grin

This is arguably the best Guildmage spoiled so far.

I'd argue with that. As a 2 mana 2/2 with relevant abilities it's a nice card, but it really looks bad compared to the Korozda Guildmage. It also doesn't stand up to the amazing Rakdos Guildmage at all.
