Jul 2, 2019Kryptnyt posted a message on A New and Exciting BeginningI guess two sites trying to 'compete' is ultimately the best for us all. No shortage of Magic fans, and there is a shortage of polished card search engines / card discussion.Posted in: Articles

Dec 11, 2018Kryptnyt posted a message on Ultimate Masters: MMI ReviewStill don't know what the booster box art is all about. It looks like a different angle of Dig Through Time, but it doesn't show up on a card, does it?Posted in: Articles

I think it might end up a very bomb-centric sealed format.Posted in: Articles

Nov 30, 2017Kryptnyt posted a message on If You Can't Take Criticism of Jeremy Hambly, You're Part of the ProblemThat's fair. I didn't know about any Wolfenstein outcry. If there's flamethrowers in that game, it makes a lot more sense I guess. I still don't think Nazism has anything to do with cosplay however.Posted in: Articles

Nov 30, 2017Kryptnyt posted a message on If You Can't Take Criticism of Jeremy Hambly, You're Part of the ProblemIf the problem is hate speech then the solution is reason. It doesn't matter if you convince the offending party as long as you convince everyone else. If you are advocating violence then you are automatically in the wrong.Posted in: Articles
Then again, maybe when you say flamethrowers are the answer, you're just joking around and people should just not take you so seriously. Do you advocate for Jeremy then? Because I don't. -

Sep 8, 2015Kryptnyt posted a message on The Running Tally of Current Sets for September 4, 2015The purple/pink thing isn't working out. I think even you are confused as to which denotes an increase and which is a decrease, just look at some of those set summary pluses and minuses. Though the temptation to deviate is strong, you must overcome, and try the traditional red/blue out.Posted in: Articles

I think he'd be a worse person if he donated to charity. It'd be kind of a soul-tariff, and he'd only be doing it to better his self-image. If you really cared about the needy, you'd start a war of goodwill. Invade 3rd world countries, declare ownership, and start building ****-tons of houses for people to live in.
Except that card makes no sense. It would be as follows.
Into the Broil 1U
Sorcery
Choose one - Return target permanent to its owner's hand; or draw a card.
Entwine 1U (reminder text that made you think something was in the full text)
Shah of Naar Isle says, "Give zeros a chance, man"
Kicking something for 0 would be fine if the ability was fairly, or close to, neutral.
2 less mana!
People are still starting at that point in EDH!
Control players are still tapping out for ramp spells!
These spells are good because they are an out to things nothing else works for. A person with a commanding board position won't come back from it most of the time. Remember when Azusa went Tooth and Nail into Prime Time and Avenger? Wrath wasn't enough, but when someone slammed Apocalypse with Aeon Chronicler suspended for 1-3 more turns, the player who was winning just instantly lost.
Some people don't like the "comeback kid."
On the other hand, the guy who plays mana rocks and Grand Arbiter and slams Armageddon on Turn 5 is just being a douche.
He has a simple enough ability that only makes him bigger, but he's brave enough to dominate formats. He has no immediate impact on the board state other than his presence on the board. Yet, he's one of the best 2 drops ever. He's the little vanilla that could.
I'd rather put a random Ravnica bounceland in a deck, because it sort of 'draws me a land.' Bouncelands make 2 land hands very keepable, but this one just counts as your second land rather than your second AND third, with a weak scry effect you will never use attached.
Crucible of Worlds doesn't impress me much in a deck that only plays one land per turn, but it's one of those cards that is randomly great when you play against LD decks, so that's a personal choice.
Moonlight Bargain is also a card I'm hard-pressed to like. Does instant speed make it better than Promise of Power? In my experience, not usually.
Overall, you've got bitterblossom tokens, reassembling skeleton, phyrexian reclamation, and bloodghast, even Geth sort of hits on this theme; I think some natural creatures to find room for are Pawn of Ulamog and Braids, cabal minion, along with Smokestack. I feel Stack would become the strongest single card in the deck if you did this. Contamination would be evilly efficient too.
Lu Bu, Master-at-Arms (Artifact shenanigans)
Karador, ghost chieftain (cycling creatures. Something with Astral Slide and squirrels, idk)
Dralnu, Lich Lord (turbo-draw)
Multani, Maro Sorcerer (Do stuff with lands and Greater Good and Genesis Wave and Exploration that make people hate green)
Mexicans aren't the only people looking to have a humble job. It's far better than straight unemployment. They take the money out of our country, but if you can't understand the significance of that, then I see why you're content with it.
That only works if you zap the land.
