It's kind of blunt to its own use, "This card is going to be good if you're investigating a lot." Might be neat to crossbreed a clue deck with a spirit tribal deck just because of the efficient body on this thing, but it's not interesting in any other kind of deck.

    God forbid we say
“I hope theres a secret lair with male characters only”
Or we are incels, or sexists or whatever. Its just severely hypocritical of you all to do that.

I think you ended up getting yourself very triggered here, man. This is a company trying to sell a product by putting a little political seasoning on the product. There might not be an international man's day or whatever, but if they do a Secret Lair for Christmas would you be really upset if you didn't celebrate it? If you were black, would you be offended that they didn't release a "Time Traveling Black Guys" collection on Feb. 29, featuring five different Teferis? Everything is gonna be ok. People will be crazy for one reason or another until the end of time, but everything is going to be ok. Especially if the biggest problem you've got is that they celebrate Whamen's Day. Relax, don't buy the product if you're offended, and play some MTG or something.

Oona might be female, but it seems about as odd a choice for National Women's Day as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, considering that she's not a woman. In fact, she's always been a violently unimpressive card, and has already gotten tons of reprint love. Card carries a ten-ish dollar price tag for some reason though. Willow Priestess shenanigans? Dunno.

Politics is not borne from EDH/Commander but is a natural effect of playing a multiplayer game where you're allowed to talk to each other. Also, in a game like Magic where a creature can only attack one player at a time, politics is built into the mainframe of the game as soon as you add a third player. Your weak political game will get better with experience. Things like spite and collusion will be annoying forever, but there are ways to manipulate people when they react this way.

There's a lot of things WOTC is doing that I'm not happy about, but selling singles when they could be selling more gambling boosters is perhaps a step in the right direction for the physical game. The secrecy around the cards is a predatory tactic, however, giving consumers the least amount of time to make a decision. You can just hear the people in the WOTC offices saying "FOMO" repeatedly in their board meetings.

I vote for Infinite Gyre. They are both really useful removal spells stapled onto threats, but Ceaseless Hunger is more frontloaded on the "removal" part and Infinite Gyre creates card advantage when he swings in. A lot of my decks have a bunch of graveyard based card advantage engines, so shuffling it all in at the wrong time can be a really bad thing, and Ceaseless Hunger can be easily reanimated, but I have to say he's not that impressive of a reanimation target. In other decks, the shuffle-in serves as a long game advantage and mill protection. I don't see much reason to run Ceaseless unless you're running both, in like Animar or something.

Interaction with Sun Titan looks pretty nice too. Doesn't play too friendly with blinks, since it dies when it comes back, but benefits from being Manifested by something like Mastery of the Unseen, Primordial Mist, Scroll of Fate, or Whisperwood Elemental. (I think Manifest and Morph are great and functional themes in a cube!) This just does a lot of what you'd want a card to do in a slow pile, and doesn't seem too dead against any decks.

Currently a pretty pricey standard card, though.

Chasm Skulker gives you the tokens after it dies and starts as a 1/1, but costs only one blue and doesn't cost additional mana for triggers.

    1 Leyline Scenario
    Turn 0: Leyline of Abundance
    Turn 1: Forest, Llanowar Elves
Turn 2: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Tap Llanowar Elves, get GG. Tap the Forest for G. Activate Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, get GGG. You now have 4 usable mana on turn 2.

    2 Leyline Scenario
Turn 0: Leyline of Abundance, Leyline of Abundance.
    Turn 1: Forest, Llanowar Elves.
Turn 2: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Tap Llanowar Elves, get GGG. Tap the Forest for G. Activate Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, get GGGGG. You now have 7 usable mana on turn 2.

I'm not entirely convinced, since the leylines themselves give you only one mana each per creature, and don't work when your opponent removes your creatures, while the Nykthos is giving you much more regardless of what you're playing with, regularly netting you 3-5 mana without effort. I think that Nykthos could be a commonly abused card moving forward, and I think that without Nykthos the leyline wouldn't be played at all; and the fact that a monoblack devotion deck even exists, and only exists because of the existence of the land, is kind of a red flag to me.

They banned the Leyline in an attempt to salvage Nykthos, shrine to Nyx, it appears. If Nykthos gets banned in the future, the leyline will come back (and probably not impact the format?)

We're returning to Theros pretty soon, so preserving devotion strategies moving forward could be directly implying that they want new devotion cards to play with Nykthos in this format. But will the card still produce too much mana?

What do you think about the policy of banning the support cards instead of the carrying ones?
