I remember hearing there was a way to tell because the "sticker" on the bottom started with A, or something like that? Or was this proven false over time?
It is kind of sad there is no way to tell. I have a couple of boxes around because my playgroup bought a case to test with and we only got through three boxes. I do still have the original case and invoice -- but obviously not sealed.
Indeed was proven false. There is no way to "know", unless you get it from a trusted source.
With the way mana bases are working right now, fetches are high because of how many are run in standard. People that think they'll hold value are crazy.
There are no 2 digit numbers. I know some people from the very first sanctioned tournament (Gencon @ lake geneva). They once gave out a one digit DCI number as a prize, but the computer actually makes you put in 4 digits.
We got more fat packs then we got for origins. That being said, I don't know if stores are shorting fat packs, it's literally just that people are buying more. A bunch of people who don't usually get fat packs got one or two. WotC always has a finite amount of fat packs available, and while it's more for this set then previous sets I doubt it's the triple+ that would be needed to meet demand.
