So, I'm wondering if someone is attacking me with two creatures, am I able to cast cloud shift on one of my creatures after declaring one of them blocked and then, after it resolves, block another creature, assuming that my creature is, of course, not a token?

If so, then one could potentially use ghostly flicker on two of one's own creatures to double block up to four attacking creatures.

Has anyone tried running full playsets of emerge unscathed and brave the elements? The only time I tried it was in a proxy test, which did well against mono-white control/heal/aggro (sort of like a patched up soul sisters) and pyromancer's ascension. The problem is that it was a limited play test, and the decks weren't the caliber I'd like to test against.

I'm also wondering if anyone has tried using a contested war zone or two in the deck.

Unless you can get another galvanizer on the board or another welder that has imprinted a galvanizer, it's not terribly useful. I thought of this, too, when I saw it, but it doesn't mesh well with the splinter twin combo due to the fact that the copies won't have the imprint. It could work, but it's not ideal.

Someone beat me with a deck like this at FNM this week.

Your lands look right, but your creatures are a bit off from what he had. Here is the list from what I remember:

It was something close to that, at least. The idea was, like yours, to ramp and destroy lands, all the while pinging in and setting up for a wicked rolling terrain.

I'm not sure how he ended the night, but the deck seemed to work well if he could keep his cobras/speakers around. I imagine losing those would have hurt quite a bit. I think green sun's would work very well in this deck, though.

It's the size of a fat pack box, but it usually has the top of the box attached in one of those wrap around deals, just like the battle royale and faction boxes.

They totally did it to accelerate those awesome blue-black relentless rats decks.

Outside of that, though, I too am left wondering why they printed this one. It's just one of those rares.

I'm in with the group that used this to restart my collection only to be disappointed when a good chunk of it rotated out of type 2. I've been short on quite a few staple cards from these blocks, ranging from common up, and this seems like a great way to remedy that.

The price around here for the first one was/is about 20 dollars, which hits it's value a little bit, not having that fifth rare for the price, but considering all the extras you get with it, it still seemed worth it. That box is pretty nice, and my old Battle Royale box could probably use retiring before it gets gets any worse.

I'm curious as to whether or not there is a chance at some full art lands in the mana packs that come with these. If there is a chance, then that would obviously help alleviate some of the value concerns one might have.

This was my first ever sealed event, having only been playing competitive magic since September, so I was pretty intimidated. What made it worse was the fact that we filled our tourney with like 36 people.

I chose Phyrexian simply because my main (FNM) deck is infect, and I'd like to take a step up with it. I wanted to build knights, too, but I hate the art on the promo, and there wasn't much else on the Mirran side to attract me away from the green and black zeniths.

So, cracking the packs (3 SoM, 3 Faction), my SoMs all hated me with very little infect, and not a single grasp of darkness. I did get an argentum armor, which made me happy, and a grafted exoskeleton, which made me wonder if I still couldn't pull off some infect. Long story short, I wasn't certain I could pull off infect, so I smashed some weenies, some metal craft, and some infect together to try and jank my way through.

    Here is my deck list:

My first round was against a young boy (maybe 10?) and while I beat him, my deck was really slow. I attribute this to me having Sylvok Replica over scourge servant, thinking the latter was too crappy even for limited. I also had pistus strike instead of spread the sickness for the same reason. I was seriously considering going tri-color to get rid of the non-innate-infect creatures and use my priest of nornx2, tine shrike, and choking fumes, but I'm glad I didn't.

I was ready to lose the rest of the day, not having any idea of how the pace of the game should really be, but from then on I proceeded to beat every opponent 2-0, except for one round where I won 2-1 after losing the first game. The ezuri's brigade/grafted exoskeleton combo was awesome if I had metalcraft. And I beat one opponent by placing my argentum armor on a scourge servant and then, after blowing up his remaining blocker, tagging it with unnatural predation for 10 infect.

My final record was 5-0 for first place. I ended up hauling in 12 faction packs, my second sanctioned event win, and a whole ton of hugs/high-fives.

Then, before prizes were handed out, I played a for-fun match against my best friend, who ended the night at 2-3, and he beat me 2-1, which gave him all sorts of warm fuzzies and showed me just how lucky I was to have my deck rolling well all night and that I mostly played phyrexians (he went mirran-red after pulling a koth of the hammer, hero of oxid ridge, goblin wardriver, and some other weenies/battlecry/burn. I've no idea why he didn't do better, honestly.

I like to think that because I was nice to the ten-year-old dude my first round, the magic-gods/karma smiled on me for the rest of the night. I had some seriously awesome draws. There were maybe 2 or 3 games where I didn't get my armor and enough mana to play it, and I didn't play anyone who had artifact hate to get rid of it.

Also, vedalken anatomist is a beast who almost caused me to take a 1-1 draw on a very long match where my opponent kept my armored blight-widow tapped down until she was back down to a 1/3. I top-decked a predation, though, and swung with my other equipped infect creatures one turn before he would have had me, though.

I also found a new appreciation for fume spitter, who downright saved games for me by letting me nail plague myrs and other early drops. I may try to build a semi-casual deck with him and all the other nifty stuff that tosses around -1/-1 counters for super creature control.

(Sorry for the long post, but I'm pretty excited and had to share.)

I've really wanted to try sadistic sacrament. I just haven't been able to get my hands on any so far.

My reasons for having swipe over bite is that I can use it while blocking to trade creatures if they're a big enough threat and so that I can tag my livewired creatures twice. I trade the swipes out to have more bites for some match-ups, though.

Virulent wound is something I'm pretty excited about, too. That and Phyrexian Crusader will make Caw-go (one of the biggest nuisance decks in my meta) look pretty weak from what I can guess.

I could try sign in blood again. I'll admit that I probably didn't give it a fair chance when I first tried it.

I have to contest that the harness isn't worth it, though. It is certainly one of those cards that looks like crap (and probably is in any other deck), but it has certainly won games for me, drawing into a creature and swinging out of nowhere. I really wish it's initial cost was 2 or less, but I'll take what I can get. That said, I'm not opposed to taking it out to play with other toys, and I may try taking your advice.

As for core prowler, if it were a 2/2 for 3 with the same ability, I would certainly add it, but I find that a 4 cost needs more oomph to make the deck. I could try it out, but I doubt very much that I want to use up a 4-slot for such an ability.

Even with quad Treespeakers, mono green infect (MGI) doesn't want the game to last long enough to play 7 cmc. He could make the sideboard for the deck, but against what? versus control, you really want to play faster, not slower.

MGI is about as fast as RDW - and has a close to 50-50 match up with it (he who goes first probably wins). It does have some ramp it's true, but not much. It's curve stops at 5, with Putrifax and Monument. (MGI should play monument over Stampede. Though it might have played overrun, stampede is not as good). This 7 CMC creature does not even have haste - which is what makes sppending 5 on putrifax worthwhile for such an aggressive deck.

If this card somehow got played. it would not be in MGI. It would probably be in a controlish build.

I'm not saying it's an automatic pick for the deck or that it wouldn't change how you ran it. It would pretty much be a completely different deck with a similar name. But a 7cmc is not that daunting in green, and it, IMHO, could very well stabilize a concept that is often too dependent on pumps. It would make for a more methodical, precise sort of infect that could make people fear the late game as much as the early game.

I don't know. I'm just saying that it should probably be more than mildly interesting unless you're only looking at upper tier sort of decks.

Ok, if accurate, it went from complete crap to mildly interesting - probably not constructed worthy still, but a necessary card if edh infect is at all going to be possible. 7 cmc is probably still too much for this in standard though.

    Source?

Mildly interesting? That may be underselling it a bit. Immune to JTMS, kills a fresh Gideon in one shot on his own, beats every titan except Grave, and makes your opponent really think about swinging anything, as s/he will have to team block it if you give it trample. And I assume you'll want to play Garruk Wildspeaker and overwhelming stampede in just about any mono-green infect, which is where this belongs. And in that case, you can give him evasion with canopy cover. You pretty much have to counter or DoJ him, which is harder as the game goes on.

If this is true, I may have to finally accept mono-green as the better deck.

This is probably jankety, but I thought I'd give it a try.

In case it isn't obvious, you give the creatures infect, use sac engines to let the myr's do direct dmg, get sneaky with the man-lands, and let Percy rage all over your opponent before nuking him yourself. I think I like the Masticore better than the Titan, but a possible 8/8 infect that automatically spell pierces stuff that targets him and taps blockers/important permanents down is just funny.

I want to work in some steady progress, being that I didn't want this to be aggro based, but I couldn't get past the Percy combo. I think I'll try another one soon that uses ichor rats and proliferate engines instead to make a completely non-aggro version.

Creeping Tar Pit also stops Luminarch ascension from going off, which just ruins your day, and helps fix mana a bit (even if it is slower).
