Nice, I got mine Khans holiday box last Christmas from my mother in law and I cracked a foil delta (^_^), this one will make another great present. The box is great for holding a cube and the value is fine.

EDIT: oh, and Zendikar 1.0 was released October 2, 2009, so I dont really get the notion of "people asking for reprints over and over". I kind of feel 6 years of no ZEN fetch reprint is enough time past...

It was 7 years for Shocklands, even more for allied fetches. Filterlands have been out longer than enemy fetches with no reprints. Grove of the Burnwillows has as well and is >$60. Point being that if the amount of time is important as your post seems to indicate there are other options for a reprint even before we get to fetches.

No, its not. The point lies in explaining why people expect / want this reprint to happen. The time table is to point out that this does not happen as often as OP thought to be. He complained about people wanted ZEN fetches and did not realized (ignored?) any relevant formats where people need them.

If you are a standard or Limited player (I assume you are), you dont need to care. You will play what the format got. If however, you are an aspiring Legacy, EDH, Modern, Vintage, Cube player, you care. Because you are desperate to finish your deck or cube and cant, because you simply do not have the abillity to shell out the prices for the said cards. There is demand and people are desperately waiting for this, I dont see whats here to explain. That there are people who want specific cards but cant own them, or that anyone who was not around zendikar 1.0 and got their playset of tarns has to choke on the bitter pill of high prices.

You can also abuse creature triggers by constantly exchanging them via Recurring Nightmare

It wouldnt be. If a standard doesnt have fetches in it and cant reliable grow the goyf out of the "fair" realm, you could easily see it in standard. But you know what? Expecting a reasonable reprint like this wont happen, remember that WOTC made goyf a mythic despite being a terrible limited card. I think this speaks volumes on its own.

I am looking to draft this set like crazy. These spoilers look great for limited.

Pretty sure this is an autoinclude in any cube. If I can play elite vanguard then hell yeah I can play this card!

Pretty good article, I like the keyword additions a lot. Scry is great and I found myself drafting Jeskai in Khans more than often, so I have sort of a weakspot for prowess. Also, wizards made me so paranoid during the last couple of years that I dont even think I should expect visions reprinted.

Laughing hard, called it myself Grin

You paid $75 for the registration fee and get your playmat/promo/packs. You crack them, knowing full well you have to ship the pool after logging the pulls, and see a Tarmogoyf. Do you drop from the event?

Open the pack, pick goyf, pass the objectively better cards and keep playing? If you are not confident in your abillity to top, just take the money card. Dropping from the event doesnt make sense unless you open a pack which contains both a goyf + FOIL goyf and you do not want to get the pack passed at all.

I considered to sell some cards for store credit/buy box but I decided to not. I just do not feel comfortable supporting this product because I was expecting top notch quality on every level when asking this much money. I am NOT saying the monetary value isnt here, but overall, the economy/design choices do not make me happy Frown This product really makes me feel as a sheep with money to wotc. And it makes me mad when they tease us with phyrexian mana and not bother releasing probe, or pointless backing off from a card like serum visions even more so, when theros was just around the corner and they opted to not print such cards in sets that are MADE to make these cards work. pfffff

I am a fan of non-blue-duals. There are still duals out there that have not spiked to their potential. A good example is the comparison of bayou which is double the price of scrubland, while none of these lands are blue/x. So I would personaly go for: scrubland, badlands, taiga, plateau, savannah. I feel like there is enough room for these to grow. I think bayous spike was the rise of jund in Legacy / Deathrite usage, these duals also just need one new good application and they bang.

So an already-overpriced card, that sees little competitive play, and desperately needed a price drop, just got UPgraded in rarity?

If it's not played often, why does it need a price drop?

Whats your point? Times where competetive play was the only factor influencing the total price of a card are gone. There are more formats, casual demand, collectors, speculators, etc. Little competetive play does not mean not played often or no demand....

There is no justification to put this at rare just to drop its price. If you are playing this in Commander or Cube, $40 isn't that much for a one of.

There is also no justification to put it into mythic for..."reasons". And by reasons I mean preserving the cards financial value. The cards only sin was the stigma of faeries standard which is incomparable to any other meta, while people blindly revert to this exact timeline when evaluating the card. Card was accessible when it was not in modern, than spiked and now doomed to stay high. - and this comes from a guy whom owns his playset already.

I went with Ambuscade shaman, looks insane and the fact I can even dash im in the mid-late game is pretty relevant I think. As for the rare, I like removal, but I do not know how problematic multicolored crits in this format are going to be, so it might not be as good as I want it to be.
