I was trying to make a "everybody fights" card, and the wording is tripping me up.
    Here:
"Each creature you control fights a target creature an opponent controls."

I thought this was fine at first, but now I think it looks like all of the creatures would fight one target creature. Which is not the intent.
    Any ideas?

TheDrB - It's interesting that you would choose phasing. Phasing is one of the main abilities I just can't see ever being reprinted. Why not just make it indestructible? The second ability is cool, but it seems like a bit of nonbo with Kemba, because you would prefer to just leave all of your equipment attached to her instead of move it around all the time.

I chose phasing because I wanted to make it REALLY difficult to remove Kemba. Indestructible doesn't deal with exile, bounce, tuck or sacrifice plus you can use it to save attached equipment in a pinch. Cyclonic Rift is always the primary enemy..
The second ability is a bit rougher. I was just trying to squeeze some card advantage in (probably picturing Lightning Greaves making a sweet draw engine in my head). Smile

Given that Cavalcade of Calamity is a thing, please tell me that they're going to do Chandra's Spitfire for her familiar. Jam

Oof, that is pretty brutal...you'd have to attack with the Spitfire before unloading all your burn spells, but you could potentially kill your opponent in one attack! Cavalcade on 2, Spitfire on 3, attack on four, throw a Lightning Bolt, a Shock, and something else, and they die if they can't rid of the creature (taking 1 from Cavalcade, Spitfire goes up to 4 power, 3 from Bolt, Spitfire up to 7, 2 from shock, Spitfire up to 10, a Skullcrack or something does it). Doesn't require a god hand, just a bit of a nut draw. I may have to pick up Cavalcade, since I was looking to make a Chandra-based deck with the Spitfire, anyway!

No, here's the ideal run out:
    1. Fanatical Firebrand - 1 damage (19)
    2. Goblin Instigator - 1 damage (18)
    3. Chandra's Spitfire - 3 damage (15)
    4. Cavalcade of Calamity - 20 damage (-5)

Spitfire can be quite the removal eater, but it is a massive payout once you assemble the combo.

That seems really bad. Cavalcade is better for token strategies.

Sure. The more triggers you make the bigger the Spitfire gets. I've used it a ton with Raid Bombardment and the Cavalcade being cheaper would help..

Kemba decks fail primarily because opponents' removal is more effective than usual at disrupting things, and because of mono-white's problems generating card/mana advantage. Without addressing these, it would be tough to rate a card highly.

Raptorchan - Should this be 'each other creature' instead? Seems like it would range drastically in power.

Flatline - This hits the mark for Kemba for sure. Smooth and clean.

Subject16 - Why wouldn't you make this a cat cleric? Serious removal eater.

Cardz5000 - Monstrous equipment, but doesn't really help with Kemba's issues.

Hemlock - Works on Kemba's issues for sure. But that ability is quite the tongue-twister.

Jimmy Groove - Most Kemba decks run a butt-ton of equipment, so just adding more doesn't seem impactful.

Algernone25 - Certainly would help a lot, but feels highly derivative. Especially without a callback.

Equipped creatures you control have "0: this creature phases out".
Whenever you pay an equip cost, you may pay 2. If you do, draw a card.

I used Reincarnation to save my Omnath, Locus of Mana and all my stockpiled G
It set off a big argument about the card, and a huge spike in cell-phone research as everyone tried looking it up at once.. lol

Hemlock - I love this, but I think it is undercosted, especially given how much cycling usually adds to base cost.

Cardz5000 - Without evasion, this seems a bit rough. Having to flash it in on your turn, and then wait until you can attack to get the effect makes it seem tricky to get through. Maybe if it was Instant or Sorcery.

Legend - This seems great to me. I am having a flavor mismatch error, as a library giving you more mana as opposed to cards seems off.

RaikouRider - This has a lot going on. I would have liked to see this as a simpler construct overall.

netn10 - I feel like this should be structured as a 'pre-draw' spell as it feels off now. Especially with the permanent effects.

Subject16 - Way too OP. It seems really unrealistic.

Hey competitors, I just wanted to mention some things.

picnic_bomber - Given that Godo would be a creature on an opponent's turn, they should be able to attack it, right? If he blocks for himself, how would the damage work, would it go against his toughness or his loyalty? What about trample?

Cardz5000 - I LOLed at "You creature a copy of that creature".

    This is a tough one..

willows - Solid, but not too exciting for me.
Jimmy Groove - I love this design, but I don't think it actually meets the challenge, as we can't guarantee the imp will still be there.
Raptorchan - I like this one a lot, even if it's a bad example of species-ism.. Rolleyes
zdtsd - This is rough as a rare. Expensive and too conditional for most scenarios, and the wording of the ability feels off.
Gateways7 - I like the flavor, but I would much rather see this as a rare with its own flip ability.
Artorias - Nice Norin variant. It helps that it can actually function as a creature. And great flavor text.

netn10 (Lorwyn) Overall, these are okay.
    • common - this seems excellent
    • uncommon - this feels like a strong common, comparison that leaps to mind is Recover
    • mythic - this seems wildly variable and the upside might be a bit low for an 8-mana mythic
picnic_bomber (Kamigawa) Overall, I felt like there were some rarity issues with these.
    • common - This is a fine card, but definitely feels like it is pushing hard against the uncommon line
    • uncommon - I like this card a lot, but definitely seems like a rare
    • rare - seems highly annoying in the best way, but feels like an uncommon
mirrodin71 (Kamigawa) Overall, I felt like these were a bit too tightly coupled. And that they definitely sapped a lot of the “mythic-ness” out of your previous card. I really wanted to see something splashy, a la Necroskitter or Kulrath Knight to really work the -1/-1 counters angle.
    • common - I really feel this needs to be a 0 cost artifact, but that would probably make it too good
    • uncommon - pretty good
    • rare - this needs some evasion, and then it would be a hit
Cardz5000 (Shadowmoor) - Overall, these are pretty good for me.
    • common - okay, but untapping would be better if it was more of a threat
    • uncommon - I get where you’re going with this, but the cost seems high and the effect feels so awkward with the old wording
    • rare - awesome wrath twist, but feel like it should be Revocation, no?

I, II — Search your library for an creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
III — Until end of turn, creature spells you cast cost X less to cast, where X is equal to the number of lands and creatures you control.
