If not, try to find a more subtle angle for your deck overall.

It set off a big argument about the card, and a huge spike in cell-phone research as everyone tried looking it up at once.. lol
I didn't read the actual comics, but this reminds me of the Marvel story with Apocalypse and the Twelve. He had to drain specific mutants' powers in that one, so it will be interesting if it works that way with the PWs he's looking to syphon from.
Have to assume he will start to succeed, to feel his oldwalker powers start to come back, and then it will all fall apart. Possibly with a secretly Jace-recruited Garruk slamming his axe into Bolas?

I have to agree on the can't be countered, that just pushes it too much. How about, "If ~ would be countered by a spell or ability, return ~ to your hand."

2. LOD uses eternals to draw out Planeswalkers by attacking home planes
3. LOD captures as many Planeswalkers as they need
4. LOD uses Ral's new machine (spark engine?) on Dominaria to reverse the Mending changes by draining sparks
I think it matches up with Bolas' goals and sets up the kind of Avengers-style confrontation that creative seems to like.
I agree, that was a beautiful wrap-up story. So many touching moments handled with expertise.
I REALLY despise the Gatewatch's decision making process re: Amonkhet.
It would have have been so epic to see them hopping around, checking in with people we haven't seen for a while. Jace going to to Garruk for advice on hunting could have been epic..
I def. agree that the major upcoming thing they need is an incredibly humbling kick in the ass. They are going to be so outclassed by Bolas' Legion of Doom.

I found the first key is to get creative. Without a ton of card advantage, artifacts become critical to help keep up. But there are some white cards that help:
Arcane Encyclopedia
Seer's Sundial
Mind's Eye
Endless Horizons
Weathered Wayfarer
are all good options. And don't forget the lands:
Emeria, The Sky Ruin
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Terrain Generator
Thawing Glaciers
all do good work.
