Yeah... I just gave up on the rats and ran a full set of Vampire Nighthawk like a competent human being.

Additionally, how does everyone feel about Phyrexian Revoker vs. Pithing Needle in the board? I'm partial to the Revokers myself (since you can "recycle" them to answer a variety of threats), but I'd like to know of some instances where Needles are better, and whether or not I should bench my 3 Revokers for them.

Hey guys long time no see..

Well for me 3 main revokers and 2/3 needles on the sb make me feel fuzzy and warm so...

I've been following this deck for a long time, and now I'm trying a version with Diabolic Edit (to find Jittes, Neddles, Existences...) and 4x Stinkweed Imp instead of Krovikan Horror.

It's just under development, and because I haven't been able to find Horrors here, but they acts as a "tutor", recicle our creatures, kill opponent's creatures and it's mana cost is cheaper than Horror's (wich is great for Bob), so maybe they'll stay in that place. What do you think?

NO WAAAY this deck as it is now = HORROR

HORROR i mean you could cut everything i gues sbut TE+HORROR

I have been playing pike in UB control and UR fish style decks.. and its awesome, some of you may relaize this.. and i cant understand why some of you dont but pike is nuts.. i havent lost a single match with those lists, although it seems people now are realizing the power that delver of secrets have, they soon will realize the pike's.

Anyway ill shut up for now and ill reap my foresight a little longer hahaha..

for those of you who believe in the pike keep it going its so awesome..

    I'm currently testing this list:

What do you guys think about this build? And we really need 3 Jitte?

Well even though that seems a lot likeone of the builds i have playedbefore, i would drop the sign in blood its really not neccessary, for me 3 hymns 4 IOK's and 2 cabal is the right way to go. and yeah 3 jittes is the best you can do, since you really want to draw at least 1 every game.

The duress is not too good in the first game in my opinion, Inquisition hits almost anything relevant in the format (except FOW) but you most likely will always be using a cabal therapy for that or he would have used that to counter another stuf.. plus, hymn is a ***** when they have it and either they use it (still dripping 2 cards from its hand) or just going with it..

I really like 23 lands here, but for me its also because i run dustbowl which is great in my opinion..

Oh and maybe you can go with 3 gatekeeper and 3 nighthawks butyou really really want that second turn shriekmaw (tarmogoyf, Lackey, etc...) so that has to be a 4 off..

Like the look of the deck, but out of curiosity when do you side in the sadistic sacrament and thoughtseize? Does memoricide not basically do what sadistic sacrament does, and when is thoughtseize better than duress, or is it just for zoo? And yes, I am aware that thoughtseize is an unbelievable card.

Well sadistic sacrament is not too good, but it is viable only because it comes out one turn before memoricide, you would side it in vs combo, and the same goes for thoughtseize.

How would people feel about adding Bloodghast hed be good recursive aggro and horror sac fodder

Bloodghast is really usbpar, since you cant abuse him with TE, and the landfall triggers would be scarce, maybe hes a good jitte counter provider but still he cant block and that is not good in my opinion. still if you venture in changing the core list to fir bloddghast in a way that he becomes better i would love to see it..

so what about those lilianas huh?

    I have 4 lilianas Smile

weeell i want 2.. so how do we do this?

By the way, contamination is not a good idea i mean really it is awful, i lvoe that card but unless you plan on running maybe an entomb package with a reassembling skeleton and 3 of them is not worth it, and even if you do you are just putting not so good cards instead of great cards, anyway feel free to test it as SB.. i have and i didnt liked it..

How dyou like my new Avatar, Thanks Pingu the wait was worth it...

Well a Liliana would be nice haha but i think that would be almost the same for you to get one or to get a confi right?..

anyway Pingu is mor elikely right about everything said in the last posts, this deck doesnt feel like any other and it is surprisingly resilent i am the one of the few who has played this in competitive enviorment and it absolutely rocks, the card advantage you manage is outstanding and if you dont see how the disruption package can wreck most of the matchups well you are missing something guys.

Im not very familiar with the Gate deck but i know that the krovikan+existence combo is a house and i doubt its being used anywhere else.

    that said..

Pingu what about my sign huh?...:P

@Seouless1: Well yeah Confis are pretty expensive nowadays.. i have a spare one if you feel like trading him hahaha.. (lol's)---

anyway my main disruption package ( and the one i feel better with).. is

    3x Hymn
    4x Inquisition of Kozilek
    2x Cabal therapy

Ill explain why those numbers.. inquisition is what you most likely want to play on first turn.. ALWAYS... Hymn is probably the best second turn play after a Dark confidant ( even more if you Play inquisition the first turn)... and cabal is something you want to play in the mid to late game to take something you already know he has in hand and the flashback is awesome if you need to recurr a gatekeeper of malakir an dyou dont have enough mana to play a horror and sac.

I would maybe still put 2 thoughtseize in the sb .. it all depends i guess.. as for the extirpates well its an amazing card so i wont say anything bad about it.. i just dont like it in the main because you are already running entomb tools and faerie macabre does the trick most of the times.. but thats just me..

hey guys im going to the Star City Games Legacy open in Baltimore oct. 23 and im using a mono black list but it's in an unknown meta. I would appreciate some feedback, here is my list

well from the top of my head.. never play les sthan 4 Dark Confidant, as for the Wastelands.. they are not worthy of the slots.. they ar egreat but it affects us more than it helps so no.. id recommend 2 dust bowls and if you feel like risking a little play 2 mishras factories..

I have played with entomb toolbox but no more than 2 entombs because drawing more than 1 is not really a good thing.. and to be honest the toolbox wasnt that great.. ( it all depends on the meta).. the fullminator mage trick is nice but slow..

Lilina is awesome here... nuff said..

The extirpates are not good in the mainboard in the SB maybe.. if you run entomb run a faerie macabre main and thats it..

oh and +1 jitte.. is too good..

Well im only speaking on behalf of pingus monoblack list or my light blue splash build here, but i think leyline does affects all our discard which at least in my list are 9 cards (11 counting therapies flashback).. it also affects the 4 gatekeepers and the Ping ability of the Krovikan Horror.. still i think its winnable but pretty hard.. what i do in those cases.. (or what i did back when i was playing legacy).. was to take out all discard except the therapies and try to put stuff that helped me more than those.. like putting energy flux or mindbreak traps...

Oh yeah i totally went thinking you talked about leyline of the void.. my bad..

And yeah Leyline of sanctity is a *****..

im out of the loop on the current legacy metagame.. but im guessing its been playing a lot?.. if thats the case maybe a green splash would be better for you, or even a white one..

    SB
-1 Revoker, -1 Spell Snare; +1 Cabal Therapy, +1 Inquisition.
-2 Spell Snare; + 2 Stern Proctor. I really hate to do it, but having no answers to Leylines blows. :\

I just wanted to add that.. if you need an answer to leyline you are making your deck too focused on the graveyard.. and that exactly was what drive the thread to make this List as resilent as possible.. to my knowledge at least the monoblack build never got problems against a leyline or graveyard hate in general..

    Am i right Pingu?
