MTG Salvation

Hey guys,
Most of you probably don't remember me, but I thought some of the old fogies might be interested in something rather fun a.k.a. some reminiscing. MTGNews (is that taboo around here?) recently set up the Newstalgia forum so that we can all remember our greatest memories from back in the day. I encourage all of you who were around to drop by and post a fun memory you had there; pay homage to the site out of which this place was born.

Wait, this is called inactivity? Damn, and here I thought checking back once every day or two was really good. Guess I don't have as much time as I used to.

Somebody please yell at Daron and Seds to come here so I can say hi, at least. Also, a suggestion; do any of you have IRC? I find that IRC chatrooms are significantly better than AIM for conversing among groups. An online game I've been playing uses IRC chatrooms (on Galaxynet) quite effectively, and it has become an integral part of the game. It's pretty sweet.

Edit: Did I read somewhere that 3CB still exists? Charlie, if you don't know what this is, you need to play it. Is Pentagram or Goblinboy still around to run it? I'm sure I've still got some old strats that used to be tech that I could break out.

BD, where do you go to school? I'm at Uni, and I'm certainly having the same sleep problems. It's past 3am right now...

Are all of you still playing M:TG? I considered possibly getting somewhat back into it, and then realized that there've been ~4 blocks worth of cards since I last played. That's pretty intimidating...

I'm still waitin' for Daron to come around, so I gotta keep checkin' back on this thread until he does...

I was bored today so I decided to drop by my old internet hangouts. Anyone here remember me? Looks like Binary Dragon a.k.a. BLOD, seds, Cyan, and Daron are still around. This site is as active as ever, it seems. I am a bit sad that I dropped by 'News and it wasn't fairing quite as well :(.

I'll hopefully remember to drop by in a couple days to see if anyone responds to this :-P. Have a good one.

So when will the BLeague round officially end? Also, with this delay I may have conflicts if our team makes the finals, because I am leaving on (I believe) the 13th for camp and will have absolutely no internet access for 2 months. If we run into this problem, I will likely defer team leader status to a team member for the end of the last round and give my submitted decks to that person. If at all possible though, could you post a thread with updated team results, dollars, and at least how the tiebreakers will be done? If you don't have the time, that is fine as well. Good luck on the Calculus exam, and congrats on your graduation. Have fun in Normandy as well!

I don't think the tiebreakers should be measured by points won, but instead by how many points you won by.

So it looks to me like the match is tied. I think it should go to Team BTY for being the underdog ;).

I probably should have guessed about the heavy metagaming, but I was too busy metagaming myself. Woops.

I think a lot of the improvements would have to be in modding. Besides fixing up the software and everything on the computer, custom case designs should be made. Cutting out and making windows is relatively quick and cheap, as is drawing artwork onto the side of the case. Other things to do would be adding water cooling, LEDs, and silencing the computer with better cooling like improved heatsinks and quieter fans (Nexus Fans and XP-120 coolers are great for that, although a bit pricey). It sounds like a lot of fun, though. Good luck with it!

Hey, I didn't say we didn't submit good decks! I'm pretty sure we have a solid lineup, so it'll be a good match.

Sorry for the delay guys, it was my fault. I just went through a very stressful and busy week and was out of town for the weekend. We also had a little problem with member inactivity, so I called in a benchwarmer as well. Good luck guys!

Feel free to replace me bug. Important matters came up, and I had to leave almost immediately on Thursday. This game goes much to fast for me to deal with it now. As my first time playing mafia, I didn't realize that. Sorry guys.

Ahh, yes, that makes sense. Sorry about that. Besides, draw-only decks are most definitely not the best choice in this kind of environment ;).

I'll hopefully have something to submit sometime soon. I think I've got a good idea for what the metagame will look like.
