Um, Earl....did you even read my post? I said that Echoing Decay destroys Meloku and Rude. Not that it goes in the deck. Please, do not spam up this thread.

Um whos idea was it to run rude in this deck? Bad idea.

    @everyone.

I think ponza is a good deck and doesnt really have that many bad matchups... good all around as somebody said in earlier threads. Also I took mine apart because i know its good all around but just didnt win for me. Also kind of boring to play w/ after numerous times.

Um...noob ponza isnt a good deck. All the playtest results point to that.

Dude, your deck is gass. Why run talismans in a mono colored deck? Its as if you assembed your deck form a stack of discarded draft decks or something. Distress? Night of Soul's betrayal? Try to post a good decklist next time.

Dude, your post is like all flamey and trolly...

    And this is a warning.

Alright, time for CTT to jump in.

I played around 30 matches of U/G control vs B/G control tonight, tweaking the deck as I went along. A few things I noticed:

Echoing Truth is worse than Veldalken Shackles. Not sure about other matchups yet, but, seeing as how B/G is pretty popular, I would imagine that you don't want to lose this matchup. Truth hurt, a lot. Shackles saved my butt, a lot.

Ninphidian is also bad in this matchup. Honestly, it is too slow. If you bounce an STE back, you lose the accel that is vital. By the time you could bounce back Witness or Shaman, it is turn 4/5, and even the mediocre player I was playing against knew to block my witnesses/shamans with his witnesses/shamans/solemns.

Keiga is good. 5/5's for six may seem kinda weak, but, it puts them on a VERY short clock. It has been said repeatedly that there aren't many fliers in the format, so having a 5/5 one is pretty good. Meloku and Rudes are liabilities, since Echoing Decay pretty much gg's both of those plans. Keiga is your best win condition in this matchup.

Basically, U/G needs to do some evolving. Someone mentioned Kira earlier....the creature that makes all your creatures untargettable once. That would be good. I'll continue testing, and try to share what I learn.

This whole deck is weak, as well as your sugestions chrono. I suggest you try to make some good suggestions for a change. Echoing decay doesnt even fit in the deck since this is u/g. It seems you dont even know what you're talking about.

Scoops to affinity even with the artifact removal. And if you put too much removal in the miandeck, you simply scoop to tooth and nail cause your deck will be stuffed full of worthless cards. These decklists aren't very good, and its quite obvious this archtype isnt viable and doesn't belong in the competitive forum.

I would have to say sligh is terrible in type 2.

The reason why sligh works in extended is because you have creatures with 2 power for one mana like jackel pup. As well as very good support cards like cursed scroll. The only good red decks are control red with belcher.

Um...ponza never won any events and rarely top 8's at anything. The results speak for themselves, piledriver.

I hear the Soviet Union was very patriotic in some circles. So was, as I recall, Nazi Germany.

Yea, whihc is why germany was ble to rise to a world superpower after the treaty versalies. But Hitler was a madman, and as a reusult germany fell. Bush isnt a madman..see?

Ermmm...I think you are missing the point here. The deck is supposed to put them in a mana-light bind, then bash face with a beatie after maybe 6-7 turns, whereas they cannot really handle it all that well. That is why Black does so good- It does not need loads of mana to counter or whatnot, it just pays 3 and Rend Flesh's it.

I really think 3x Sowing Salts is a must have in the sideboard. It is another tool vs tooth that we can use to hose them. My freind run's 2 MB, just so he can kill Blinkmoth Nexi, which 90 percent of the time he does.

I know I may be bringing up a sore subject here, but, seriously, SDT is possibly the best abused in this deck. This deck wins by grabbing the 3rd and 4th ld, which Top can easily do. I agree- It sucks in about every other deck, but ponza needs the early LD to keep them bogged down, before the Solemns and other excel can hit. Suffice to say it usually does not stop Sakura, but 1st turn top 2nd turn ld 3rd turn ld and 4th turn dig for an LD is game.

I dont think ponza will work in the current metagame. Too slow against affinity, and scoops to everything else. Sorry, but the results according to ZVI and kibler show this.

If Kerry had won, I would still support him and wish him luck. I would dissagree with him, but still support him. However, the American people were smart enough to not vote for Kerry and knew that Bush would do a better job fighting terror than Kerry would have done.

And I attribute patriotism to America's success. We wouldnt have the powerful millitary complex and economy we have today if people wern't patriotic.

I see your avatar..you aren't American so it is more difficult for you to relate to what I am telling you.

Being a nationalist, I dont care what the rest of the world thinks of America. We don't need them as well. Back in the 40's there was more loyalty to Ameirca's agenda but times have changed and you simply can't attriute that to Bush.
