  • posted a message on Drogskol Reaver and Combat Damage
From what I understand all combat damage happens at once unless its a first strike or double strike creature. So if I have a Drogskol Reaver on the field and two 1/1 lifelink creatures and I swing with just the tokens do I draw a card for each token that deals damage or just one card for the total damage being dealt.

  • posted a message on Priority during multiple activations
116.3c If a player has priority when he or she casts a spell, activates an ability, or takes a special action, that player receives priority afterward.

I think this is what you are looking for. He can allow each one to trigger and resolve individually. Or he can pay the cost of the ability all at once saccing any number of artifacts, then putting the respective triggers on the stack. Bascially it allows you to respond to the casting of your own abilities or spells, otherwise card like Twincast wouldn't work.

  • posted a message on Treason and Sundial
If I steal my opponent's creature with an Act of Treason, does this put a delayed trigger on the stack that sets off at the end of my turn? Allowing my Sundial of the Infinite to exile that trigger off the stack allowing me to keep the creature permanently, or would I have to activate it Post combat Main phase in order to skip my end phase?

  • posted a message on 5 Color control
Does anyone know of any Standard 5 color control deck lists? I tried a search on both the forums and google, and came up with nothing in standard. If someone can point me in the right direction i would be much appreciated.

  • posted a message on [[Official]] The "I Need Help Deciding What To Play" Thread
Hey all, for several weeks I have been thinking of trying out a new deck. I used to run BUG Pod, but lately there has been ALOT of pod hate and im finding it difficult to get back in my top 4 again. (used to place 1,2 or 3 everytime)

Before Pod I ran Tempered Steel, so I would rather not revisist that. I have a huge card base so no worries on budget. I was thinking somewhere in the color ranges of Grixis (U/B/R), R/W/U, or G/B/W. Any sugestions, decklists,or ideas for any of these colors would be aprreciated.

  • posted a message on Vigor and Blasphemous Act
If I have several mana producing creatures on the field such as Birds of paradise and Llanowar elves along with a Vigor and I play Blasphemous Act; Will the damage still be prevented before the Vigor dies, thus giving all my mana dudes 13 Counters?

  • posted a message on Double Mimic Vat
This happened at my local FnM last friday. Player 1 has Mimic Vat and Stonehorn Dignatary on the field. Player 2 plays a phyrexian metamorph copying Player 1's Mimc Vat. Player 2 then destroys stonehorn via some removal spell. The question was who gets the stonehorn on their Mimic Vat. Unfortunantly we don't have any Judges at our place of play, but we have a few Guru's who know much about the rules, and are aspiring Judges. They said that Player 2 would get the Stonehorn. They explained, since player 1 is active player his Vat ability goes on the stack first, and player 2's goes second. Thus player 2's resolves first imprinting stonehorn and basically stealing it from player 1 because it has to be exiled and can is no longer a legal target for player 1's Mimic Vat. Was this a correct call?

  • posted a message on Zur + Condemn (1001 times asked sorry)
    Quote from Han Tzu
If you Condemn before the Search Trigger, Zur goes to the bottom, them you search and shuffle. If condemn is after the search for an enchant trigger, you will search and shuffle, than put zur on the bottom.

I think you have it backwards. the Stack would look like such.

    Ex1.

    -Condemn
    -Zur's Triggered Ability

So the condemn would resolve first putting him on the bottom, where he would then be shuffled away when the triggered ability resolves next. If he lets you resolve the trigger then he could play condemn in his declare blockers step as your creature is still attacking, and it would then goto the bottom and stay there until the next time you shuffled your deck.

Delay This "suspend" ability, it states that after the last counter has been removed they may play it without paying its mana cast, is this the same as Casting it?

  • posted a message on Magic is not really that intellectual.
Has everyone forgoten about Deck Building? Playing magic may not be as intellectual as chess, but building your deck is most certainly up there with chess imo. I mean "building" deck not just grabbing one off a top 8 list but taking an idea or a mechanic and making it your own. Takes quit an amount of knowledge, including knowlege of mana curves, synergy, balance, manabase, not to mention the astounding amount of cards in the game. something like 19,000 for all of magic, and about 1700 in standard alone. I know most of them(in standard) but certainly not all of them. How many chess pieces do you have to know? I agree that playing magic is not as mentally intensive as Chess, (though deckbuilding is another issue) but chess has also been around much longer than magic. I could very much see MTG being something like chess in the next 50 years.
