My favorite card in the warrior deck I play is Giantbaiting. Alongside Nettle Sentinel and Bramblewood Paragon you get two 5/5 trample-haste creatures for 3 mana. It gets even more crazy when cast after Obsidian Battle-Axe.
Ghost Quarter is a great way to trigger archive trap. The fun part about a deck like this is the potential removal of the drawbacks from both cards because your opponent will decided not to search his/her library fearing an archive trap. Twincast makes the most of each trap, as does Mirari.
All creatures and lands is one way to build a sliver deck, for sure. But how will you respond when your friends play combo or control with Wrath of God, Tsabo's Decree, Extinction or Propaganda?
I'm glad you like the Ben deck, but the problem is exactly what the evil non-budget robot said at the end: all of the key cards have sky-rocketed in price. Dark Depths is more than $20, Vesuva is more than $10 and Top is also more than $20. While the list is powerful, I suggest not breaking the bank and going for a more budget version with newer cards as suggested. Omnath, Locus of Mana and Helix Pinnacle are both viable choices for much less money. The land searching package should still be cheap to buy however, with Sylvan Scrying and Reap/Sow.
You can throw together a deck filled with double meanings and see if your wife catches on while she plays it. Example: Gaze of the Gorgon has excellent synergy with Prized Unicorn and can also be that Glare of Subdual she gives you sometimes.
Will emissary of despair's ability trigger twice if she/it has double strike? If yes, you can easily splash red for Assault Strobe or Double Cleave because lattice allows for any color.
With 6 "Rangers" consider Groundswell over might of old krosa. You should be getting landfall almost every turn and groundswell lets you pump critters as a combat trick. I will seriously consider your take on this deck for my traditional XLS, I like the bomby-ness of Deus.
Firstly, yes you should add Lightning Bolt, you should always add Lightning Bolt, it is just that good. Drop the 2 Swerve and 2 Grixis Charm for it. Second, here is your deck in a more manageable format:
Best way to deal with flying creatures in a token deck is Spidersilk Armor. Side in 4 against a flying deck. You shouldn't have a problem dealing with artifacts/enchantments in your colors. You have access to a whole slew of spells that do that. Best one being Krosan Grip.
I see what you mean about revealing my hand the land grant plan is in place until I can afford 4 Misty Rainforest. Standstill is great and expensive, but the argument for it is too strong to not consider it. I think I will make an effort to purchase 3 of them after I get the vials and the shock-lands and replace the ponders. I didn't think that I could counter a spell and take advantage of the card draw, that's kinda cool.
Have you seen that deck by Ben Bleiweiss? With 12 posts instead of 8 you can do even crazier things. Wurmcalling is a bomb.
EDIT: I second shriekhorn and I just thought of Myr Sire which gives you two activations of grinding station in one body for 2 CMC.
