Quote from Crispen_Smith »How on earth was Utopia Sprawl a $5 card? Pauper? I would have thought even there that supply outstrips demand by a wide margin?
There's more demand than just Pauper. Any enchantress deck in Legacy, Modern, or EDH (assuming you're playing green) is going to be playing it. Plus, in Modern it is the hardest turn 1 mana accelerant to interact with, especially if you put it on a basic forest, as Prismatic Ending and Portable Hole are really about the only commonly played ways to answer it on curve, so it's a very reliable accelerant as long as you are playing mostly forests. It also benefits from the fact that there's not really a substitute for it, as in 30 years of Magic sets, it and Wild Growth are the only 2 one-drop enchantment ramp cards, which means that if you want to build a deck in any format Sprawl is legal that wants ramp and cares about enchantments, it's about as close to an auto-include as you can get.

They could have easily gone on in more detail in various sets that highlight the effects of the invasion as it happens to a few places per set, then have a build-up like MOM or Mom II. But I know from personal experience and observations people get impatient and finnicky if things are drawn out too long, which is why there was probably so much angst towards the Gatewatch during the Bolas arc.
But I will say the delivery of this was better than War of the Spark. I have a strong feeling that the next few sets for the 2024 line-up will feature planes that we have or have yet to visit and explain what transpired post-Invasion. If I remember correctly a few years ago someone on this forum (Might have been you, Ryperior) images of the logo and symbol for Shandalar. I'd expect something along those lines here on in at least for the next release year.
I'll be honest though, they do a great job for build up. But the climax and endings...they need work.

That's what I liked about the Weatherlight arc. The focus was on non-planeswalkers (essentially doing PW activities via the Weatherlight) and emphasized the humanistic side of things. Urza played a core role with the Titans in the backdrop. It was well done in that sense if you ask me.
I get that they have an identity attached to Planeswalkers now, but they definitely need to go more to a non-PW angle. Not sure if it's plausible given the current state of their brand identity.
Oh ***** one post away from 10,000. Damn I'm old lol. Or have too much time on my hands (among other things).

My thoughts are the standard release schedule for 2024 will be centred around planes affected by the invasion before they start a new story arc, unless these post-invasion sets will start a new storyline all in and of itself.
But so many desparked 'walkers. Sarkhan? Kiora?
The artwork of Nissa and Chandra running into the grove hand-in-hand made me melt.

"But there's no enemy near you!"
"Uh, I cast Magic Missle on...the darkness!"

AS for the other New Phyrexia hint...I thought of the Praetors but I'm not sure if that would be what is being referenced. I mean it could be, but I'm not sure how or in what way.
