Durr...sorry, man. Grin Yes, I totally missed that.

    Found the primer: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=2121

Yes, the Thrull is tech. I Love LOVE Love this card in my build. I'll post it when I get home. It completely changes the calculus of the deck AND has built-in evasion.

Scrying Sheets are becoming more and more affordable.

    I picked up S.S. #'s 3 & 4 this week for my snow deck for $.99 & 1.75 on Ebay. OMG

S.S. absolutely makes a snow deck. You should definitely try & get 'em.

There used to be a really good SuiBlack primer (author: Craven) floating around...can't locate it. Slant

I'd (and He'd) recommend dropping some of the sac-effect creatures with creatures that have built-in evasion. You'll find you have more creatures on the board at any given time, and they'll connect more often, winning the game.

    -4x Carrion Feeder
    -4x Rusalkas

    +4 Dauthi Shadow
+4 Mourning Thrull (really helps w/the life loss) or Hypnotic Specter

I also run 4x Strip Mine (depends on your playgroup) and 4x Hymn to Tourach. These alone in your opening hand can win the game for you if you're lucky and they're not.

I run Bonesplitter for mine, but Jitte is definitely superior. (And Dark Rituals)

    Imagine this (very possible) opening...
Turn one: Swamp, Dark Rit, Hyppie
Turn two: Swamp, Dark Rit, Bonesplitter, Bonesplitter, Equip, Equip, Swing for 6 and take a card.

I would definitely replace Bad Moons with Hymns or Duress. Bad Moons end up hurting me too often, and they don't do enough (imho) to justify their inclusion.

Brutal aggro deck, to be sure. Have fun with it!

...but hey its the most clear piece of information venser... i mean MaRo has given us in a while.

Was it ever actually proven, definitively, that Venser was actually MaRo in disguise?

I have a feeling this is correct.

Prehistoric Dominaria...the utter beginnings of Magic, races, creatures, etc.

They have a habit of swinging the pendulum from block to block, AND a recent style of connecting blocks.

OK, so following this...Time Spiral is about Time. More specifically, Future Sight was about The Future. So, then we dial it back to the way, waaaay past. Voila...Lorwyn.

Also note the horns on the Elf on that Lorwyn Book Cover. That's pretty feral...made me think of a 'proto-elf' more than anything.

    It'd be kewl. Slant

This is a really tough call...I've played with all of them at some point.

Shivan Wurm never really panned out for me in multiplayer b/c some jerkwad just bounces the creature before I can bounce it and the whole thing fizzles. Mad

Endless Wurm + Rancor definitely falls into the 'cute' category, but I've played it. After a while though, it just gets stale. Imho, the 'best' ought not to be quite so fragile to work.

I'm really, reeeaaally liking Reckless Wurm lately though. I built a red mana Flashback/Madness deck w/Jaya Ballard. More than any other madness card in the deck, the Wurm just makes people shrink in their chairs. It's just so unfair.

Stilll...I'd have to go with Plated Slagwurm. How, exactly, is this card costed fairly? I put Loxodon Warhammer on it, or get a Brawn in the bin and it's almost certainly gg at that point. My playgroup absolutely hates this card. Evil Lol

Has anyone thought about this information in light of that Land Creature they just printed in FS?

Maybe this is a real hint that they will complete that cycle...and maybe have a man-land sub-theme in Lorwyn? I'm utterly grasping at straws here, but it caught my eye...

Oh yeah...there is that. (dur) How Suspicious...

I saw Jester's Cap and thought, oh, this is 'Format Whatever' (I forgot they reprinted Jester's Cap in 9th.)

Well, if he includes it, isn't that 'Breaking the Format'? (or just 'Breaking the Rules') I prefer my terminology.

If you can work it in, I always like using Haunting Echoes w/Glimpse the Unthinkable. Really. Gross.

It serves much the same purpose as Extirpate, without a) the hefty ($) price tag and b) does much more toward actually milling them.

If you get lucky, you can take out half or more of their deck and leave them with nothing but a bunch of lands.

    Just a thought.

It's not going to be Yosei Frown

    Or Kokusho... Crying

My money's still on Cho-Manno. Michiko Konda is an interesting idea as well...that card is pure evil and pure...underplayed to boot.

I guess I just thought the art loooks like it's summoning creatures at will (a-la Piper), not 'preventing critters from getting countered' (a-la Herald)

One's as good as the other though. Smile

    @ Lesurgo: I think maybe you're thinking of Elvish Piper. (I did the same thing...then I re-read Gaea's Herald.)

And actually, no, I'm not positive they're Xth. I'm just assuming, based on other Xth arts being there (Knight of Dusk & the Giant Dude). You're right though, there are TS-PC-FS arts there, so it's entirely possible these are Lorwyn.

    My bad.

Just found these on Ebay...from a GAMA 2007 MTG Calendar.

    Haven't seen these anywhere. Ready...Set...Discuss!

Edit: Based on the art, I think the last one is Elvish Piper. But no pipes. Slant

While there's been a ton of rebels here lately, the art suggest Cho-Manno to me, not Lin Sivvi.

Also, Cho-Manno's ability seems more fundamentally 'White' to me that Lin-Sivvi's. I think that definitely counts for something. They're going to pick Legends that are representative of one of each color's strengths. Invulnerability is most often a White ability, so there. you. go.

Still...again...there's been a TON of Rebels lately...
