those are just a few i can think of off the top of my head. hope that helps!
edit: just read non-basic lands is what u asked for...i'm an idiot.
So I'm building my first deck with nonbasic lands as an essential part and I was wondering if there were any ways (besides Expedition Map and Crop Rotation) to search for my nonbasic lands. Any ideas?
If I have two Howling Mine in play and they are both untapped then do I draw 3 cards during my draw step or just two? In other words: do the cards build off eachother?
Are there any cards other than The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale that give creatures an upkeep? If not are there cards that make creatures more difficult to cast?
does tapping an artifact make its abilities go dormant? A friend told me that by tapping Winter Orb it would stop it's abilities. And since we're on the subject: do artifacts untap like lands and creatures at the beginning of your upkeep?
Classically, players used Icy Manipulator to "turn off" their orbs so that they get an untap phase and their opponents don't.
Okay that helps a lot. So basically I use Icy Manipulator at the very end of my opponent's turn to tap Static Orb. Then if I use the green or Serra's Sanctum I shouldn't have too much trouble with mana. Does that sound right?
So If there is a Static Orb or a Orb of Dreams in play and I play Needlebug (which has protection from artifacts) is it uneffected by the orbs or does protection just keep it safe from being targeted by an artifact or taking damage by an artifact?
I was thinking about building a deck centered around Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Orb of Dreams. However I found that it was very difficult for even me to get around this lock.
I decided it was probably a good idea to use Cloudpost, Glimmerpost, and Vesuva as my mana base (so I only need one land to be untapped). And I also decided it was probably a good idea to use either creatures with Vigilance or spells as my way of doing damage. However most creatures with vigilance are white and sorcery also require colored mana. The main exception is Akroma's Memorial. If I want to use white I could throw in enchantments and run a Serra's Sanctum but, obviously, there are still lots of problems.
So does anybody have any ideas about how I can get around the orbs and win?
Just had a thought. Serra's Sanctum will give me white mana for every enchantment I control. Are there white enchantments that will win me a game by themselves?

I don't see the purpose of Fog Bank. Hedron Crab lets me mill someone a bit which gives me a chance at putting a few creatures into a grave yard every time I play a land.
You are propably right about the removal. I'm thinking of running Damnation, though. It will take care of more creatures than cards like Doom Blade. Good suggestion
So I picked up a copy of Avatar of Woe on a whim and I decided (on another whim) to build a fun casual deck based on it :D. I put in the combo with Thornbite Staff and used some mill to help reduce the mana cost on Avatar of Woe. Vampire Nighthawk is just there to provide a little bit of defense and stall till I get out my combo. Just as a note: this deck is designed for multiplayer/team matches and is not really intended for one on one play.
obviously this is a rough draft and needs a lot of work but what do you guys think? Any suggestios are welcome but please keep in mind that the deck is casual and I do not intend to sink a ton on money into it for cards like Force of Will.
lol don't worry about it.
I'm trying to bring out vesuva and Mishra's Factory.
Were you refering to it's abilities when it is tapped or untapping at your upkeep?
