This thread inspired me to launch a revision project on my beloved Doran deck. The original concept revolved around spending the early game hiding behind walls and generally looking innocuous, which wasn't such a bad strategy but could use some resilience.

During the deck's lifespan, I'd been consistently cutting one treefolk after another, and now I threw all of them overboard. Walls got the axe as well, with the exception of Wall of Roots. The most drastic change, though, was excluding a whole league of staples from Swords to Plowshares to Wrath of God. It will be interesting to see how this version performs compared to the previous one.

Extremely competitive Jhoira builds are built around throwing down Jhoira and then suspending (in order)

That's exactly what I didn't want to do. Which is why the approach presented in this thread was the one that inspired me. I'd been long toying with the idea of being able to throw around all kinds of expensive crazy effects like Scrambleverse, Eye of the Storm etc. that are unplayable in any other format.

I'd like to find a way to make it work, with "working" here not meaning being unbeatable but doing fun stuff that generates a lot of random, unexpected situations. That's what CMD is all about IMHO. When I want to play to win, I play German HL instead Grin

I built a Jhoira deck largely inspired by this article but at least so far, it's been positively horrible XD It's completely unusable in duels but even in five-player games it mostly seems to do nothing. I guess there are too few of the really fun big effects (type Warp World) and I just end up sitting around with a bunch of deflection effects in hand with no relevant targets for them. All in all, the experience reminds of what it was like to play Braids (:symu:). I'll still give the deck a few more games before putting it to the torch but I'm not too hopeful...
