i dont think we can get lands dark confidont and goyf all for 20$ USD not possible i would have payed 20$ for a original niv mizzet but now i dont i can pay 20 dollors for niv mizzet and other crap cards
Dude, your sig is the biggest, most tedious eye sore that this board has produced in some time.
That is saying something.
On topic: Golgari Cave Troll would be a fun card to see in here, also a great great ramp up for the Return to Ravinca release.
I hate having to wait so long for the deck lists now.
"I noticed that Nicol Bolas is everywhere. Why?"
"Nicol Bolas is the face of Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 and he's going to be in the Magic 2013 Core Set."
Reminds me already of the idiots who insisted that there would not be g/w, r/w, and b/w Angels in Avacyn Restored even after the art was out there.
So I just went out and bought a fat pack of Avacyn Restored. I always try to buy both a fat pack and a box of the new set. I was gonna just buy a few packs since I'm low on funds but I figured it would be better to get a fat pack since they usually have 1-2 money/good cards in them. Here is the junk I pulled
1 Arcane Melee
2 Treacherous Pit-Dweller
1 Dark Imposter
1 Harvester of Souls
1 Moonsilver Spear
1 Conjurer's Closet
1 Infinite Reflection
1 Otherworld Atlas
0 Foils
I've played magic for 11 years and I've always enjoyed opening packs just for the chance of opening something good. Well I have never opened something this bad. I threw away ever single card except for 1 Thunderous Wrath. I love paying $44 after tax for an uncommon and a box. Is Wizards trying to get people to quit? I know it's not that big of deal but it's a huge letdown flushing away $40.
Oh no, you got a bum fatpack, I have a great idea let's go write a blog about it on MTGSalvation.com.
Popped a fat pack today, pulled a Cavern of Souls, Bonfire of the Damned, Reforge the Soul, and an Entreat the Angels.
Damn you Wizards you foul fiends!!!!!!
This land gives any tribal deck a land that taps for any color for said tribe.
Unless you are somehow playing mono color tribal I do not see how this can be said to be less useful in these scenarios and that is with counter spells nowhere in the picture.
I personally do not see the cavern going for over 20 when it settles, but to downplay its impact is disingenuous.
Anyway, did not mean to threadjack
The casual players are obviously hyping up the land, I've played against two players using it in the prerelease of the six players I played against, while it was totally unnecessary. One player even built his deck around it, with all-human creatures...
The land is good for two things: tribals and color-fixing. But only both, not seperate. Basically it's crap for mono-colored tribals unless you are playing a U control player with a large amount of counterspells. Or you play a tribal deck that needs a lot of colors, like slivers.
But I don't see this becoming a staple outside of those anytime soon. Especially because it only protects against counterspells, not:
- wipe
- burn
- sacrifice
- destroy
- exile
- discard
- shuffle into library
- change control
- combat damage
etc.
I've seen a lot of decks in Standard aren't even bothering with countermeasures for counterspells, unless some in the sideboard. So where will this card end ? In the sideboard. And in all the casual player's hearts.
Then you seriously do not understand the meta out there.
The land makes every deck out there for the most part better, with no downsides.
It has nothing to do with tribal.
Being able to guarantee your huntmaster or inferno titan against delver or other control is money.
Being able to guarantee your snapcasters is money.
If you can not see how it changes things then I do not know what to tell you.
This has nothing to even do with countermeasures, there is no downside to this card.
But don't most Planeswalkers that cost 5 mana have 3 good abilities? Also, it's not just abilities that make a Planeswalker powerful. I would imagine the cost to loyalty ratio matters some as well.
But what you said makes sense, I'm sure a lot of players (and collectors) are going to snag a copy. I'm not expecting it to make any big spikes up though.
Not always.
Look at M12 Jace and original Lili
Tamiyo has a few things going for her.
4 loyalty to start means that she is hard to get rid of right away, and she can com into play and lock something down immediately or she can draw you a few cards and give you immediate card advantage.
I think that is what makes her viable.
If she gets to ultimate somehow, then it just gets silly.
But people don't go to them no matter what. Therein lies the detail you appear to be missing.
Wizards is not Santa Claus.
And your LGS experience also does not tell the details because my lgs is at capacity every single pre-release, the store not ten minutes up the road is also at capacity for their events and one of those was running at the same time as one at my lgs.
In Tampa not 35-40 mins away they are always at capacity.
The mtgsalvation salty masses are not the magic community.
Since the Helvault was used to attract people to the prerelease, which is decidedly not free, it is disingenuous to argue that its contents are in any way free - not to mention those who ended up paying extra for it. Neither the time nor the money spent on the prerelease was trivial, and I imagine many people who wouldn't otherwise go to such an event opted to make the unusual effort because they expected something remarkable. This was, after all, the intent of holding the promotion in the first place.
No, it was free.
Period.
The pre-releases happen no matter what.
The Helvault is no different than the posters that they put on the walls to advertise the event or the foil promo that they already have.
It was a promotion, no more and no less.
If you paid more, blame your shop. End of line.
Do not like it, sell your cards and stop going to the shops because this constant whining about this crap is just so far beyond tedious these days it makes you all sound pathetic.
It was free, boo freaking hoo, get over it you entitled flesh bags.
I hadn't looked at him that way (in response to the first half of your comment), but that is avery good point.
My being an EDH player really is the strongest reason I have for wishing there was a Legendary Werewolf.
Maybe since Huntmaster of the Fells // Ravager of the Fells is the only RG Werewolf, that's why I and many other players believe he was the strongest canidate for Legendhood. But you're right, a Legend should generally be a little bit more creative than token generation.
You mean token generation, lifegain and direct damage in one package?
Immerwulf takes care of all other Werewolf legend needs.
My opinion is just that someone returned the deck (lord knows why) and the outside box was too damaged. They probably repacked it like that adding the Broodmate Dragon from another returned item in order to sell it and salvage some money.
Little do they know that Ooze goes for so much.
They had an entire case of these at the Walmart I went to, containing 3 of each type.
This was not a one off.

Yes, it is just the usual monkeys on here that post before taking a moment to research.

Would be nice to see basalt and old man of the sea in M13
Perhaps Outpost in the ftv
