Tried playtesting with M14 Chandra last night and was underwhelmed. Going to try Ogre Battledriver, although already thinking that's not going to be all that great with trying to flash in tokens EOT. Maybe side him out vs. Control. Gonna give it a shot anyway and see how it plays. Still feels like it needs some kind of draw so I dont run out of gas.
This is something I just sleeved up and having been running with some pretty good success. Most of the cards here are good post-rotation too. Runs almost like the G/W decks running around.... the decks built, along with the addition of R mana, to maximize the interaction with Young Pyromancer. I'm sure there's better ways to build around him, but this has been fun and pretty powerful. Plus Wake the Reflection is actually pretty nutty in here, won me a good number of games. And as always, Selesnya Charm is so versatile acting as a mini AotW v. control, removal, the last couple points of damage, and even activates pyromancer.
Sideboard is only a guess. Ray for hexproof, Ooze for reanimator. More burn for agro. Assemble the legion for control and charm/Defenses for various midrange/control decks.
I really want to see the 2002 Otaria arena lands from John Avon. Absolute favorite lands and they've yet to be releases online, where I play primarily.
Hope we get some interesting abilities. I tried going for a safe graveyard protection/card advantage engine to save graveyard shenanigans in EDH from relic, crypt, and other exilers. No e-mail, so this was mine.
Grave Recall
If a card would be exiled from your graveyard, put it on the bottom of your library instead.
Whenever a card is put on the bottom of your graveyard, you may pay 1 life and draw a card.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't seem too busted. It could lead to big draws (with big life payments) and could be made into an engine with the right cards, without doing anything by itself.
I know myself and other people have been clamoring for cards like Electrolyze, Lightning Helix, Putrefy, Mortify, etc. and this recent post makes it seem like we may be seeing some of these cards in the next set.
What's everyone else think? Anything from old Rav, that I left out, that you want reprinted?
Just want to note it's highly unlikely we get a full 10 land cycle printed in the next core set. They've been building them with limited in mind and 10 rare slots dedicated to lands would make draft pretty stale. The last time they did that the card pool was almost 100 cards higher and it was still annoying to open a land that had been reprinted X amount of times.
Personally I'd like to have the allied fetches printed (ALONG WITH Landfall!) for Modern and to limit the number to use with Deathrite. Nimbus cycle would be okay and works with Shocks. Realistically I imagine they're printing a new cycle since the checklands are so stale.
Actually I think the opposite: All ten "check lands" will be printed in M14. The Innistrad enemy duals were generically named (they weren't called gavony something) meaning they were intended to be kept for a core set. They will mirror the 10 original duals plus they did the same thing before with the pain lands. The first bunch was released in Ice Age, then they were reprinted in core sets. Then the remaining enemy coloured 5 were printed in Apocalypse and finally all ten found their way in the core sets. I think the same thing will happen now.
For the next year and half (until shocklands rotate) we will have "perfect" mana in standard.
I don't see them taking up 10 rare slots on Lands. Core sets nowadays are somewhere around 100 cards smaller from when they printed all 10 painlands and it would just make limited awful.
I could see a new allied cycle started in M14 and have it finished up in Friends.
Shard lands would be simple, too, with each land supporting and enemy and allied pair. Possibly even a rare cycle or wedge lands to finish that cycle, although Maro's well aware people want their Wedge set so they may just save them for that.
No matter what, whether they stay or go, I feel like mana fixing in standard is at an all time high with the duals back so they're not that necessary and don't really need replacing.
Whenever ~ or a nontoken creature you control is put into
a graveyard you may 1BG. If you do, put a 3/3 black and green
Zombie Centaur w/ deathtouch onto the battlefield under your control.
I like the idea of all watermaked cards or the complete opposite with gold cards without watermarks.
It seems to me they're playing up the guildless angle a little bit more this set. I could see where we could go mono-colored but this is Rav. block so not going to happen..... Like it's been said all gold and hybrid has been done before too. Shard and wedges would take away from the guilds which ARE the flavor of the block. Seems like watermarks is the best bet.

Still like to see an efficient removal spell in Selesnya colors and an efficient counter or removal spell for Dimir.
