This is correct. Just assume that the threshold is going to be 7-2 (21 points) for 9 rounds to make Day 2. If the GP is large enough, and it goes to 10 rounds, you will need to go 8-2 (24 points).

This isn't realy true. There was never a GP where the cut was 24 Points. The cut has always been in the last years either 18 Points (less then 700 or 800 players) or 21 Points.

What happens at limited GPs if they are big enough (close to 2000 players) is, that 10 rounds are played on the physical day 1, but only the first 9 rounds count for the GP Day 1, round 10 is already the first round of Day 2.

So in this case, you play 9 rounds. Then the cut for day is made (everyone with 21 or more points) and then a 10th round is played. Regardless if you lose or win this round, you are allowed to play tomorrow.

The reason for this behaviour is, that at a GP of that size they add another round to day 2. One of the reasons is for a better and more clear cut to Top 8. At constructed GPs the additional round is played on the second day. But at a limited GP where the second day consists of two drafts with 3 rounds each you can't add another draft round. So they add another sealed round. And for convience reasons this round is played at day 1 so you don't need to bring your sealed deck back at day 2.

It should normaly be for one GP "Grand Prix Trial" and for another GP "Grand Prix Trial 2" (At least from my experience).

I suspect it is because of limitations of their sanctioning tool, but that's only a guess.
If you want a definitive answer, you have to ask Wizards of the Coast.

Well, if you want to know the schedule of Pro Tour Qualifiers (PTQs), you would do well to look up the schedule of the Pro Tours (PTs). Obviously PTQs lead up to the PT.

The so-called Modern PTQ Season is the lead up to PT Avacyn Restored (which is a modern format Pro Tour). PT Avacyn Restored is going to be held in Barcelona around May 11.

The next Pro Tour (after Barcelona) will be in Seattle around Oct. 19. This is a Standard format Pro Tour, therefore the qualifiers for this PT will also be in the Standard format.

    Hope that helps.

The PTQ Formats always differ from the PT Formats. PT Avacyn Restored is Block Constructed/Draft with Modern PTQ and Seatle is Modern/Draft with Standard PTQ.

The reserved list doesn't apply to virtual cards:

    Virtual Cards

This reprint policy only applies to physical, printed cards. It does not apply to cards released on Magic: The Gathering Online or in any other digital distribution.

You also can't redeem the masters edition, so there is no way to convert such a virtual card in a real one.

    2 questions:

will GP PT invites pass down if up to 4 people in top 4 are already q'd?

where is the list for required points to play in a WCQ? per country

There is no pass down. You can find all information including the required points in the premier invitation policy: http://www.wizards.com/ContentResources/Wizards/WPN/Main/Documents/Magic_The_Gathering_Premier_Event_Invitation_Policy_PDF1.pdf

Your friend is incorrect. I don't know how I can explain this further than citing simple English. The trigger condition is "At the beginning of your upkeep or whenever you cast a white spell". The 'or' means that when either of those events happen, the ability triggers.

    I have a idea Smile

    Basicly it's boolean logic

A trigger is read as "When/At (condition) then (effect)".

And a "or" condition is true if one part of the "or" is true.

The PTQs should move to store owners (this is normal for example in Germany) and the stores should organize them. That doesn't necessarly mean that they have to be held at the store itself. In Germany it's common that stores rent a venue for events like a PTQ because the don't have enough room at the store.

cant i play other spells during ad nauseum's effect?

a player on mws said "no you cant, LOl, LOL, LOL, rsrs noob, player has left the game"

You normaly can't play spells or activate effects while your resolving a spell or ability. So you can play another spell only after Ad nauseum has finished resolving.

    The power in the Graveyard.

The official answer from the mtgrules-l list regarding a similar question was some time ago:

Does "those cards" in the replacement effect of The Mimeoplasm refer to the objects represented by those cards as they existed in the graveyard or as they exist in the exile zone?

The Mimeoplasm uses the cards' informations as they exist in the graveyard.

For example, if the only cards in graveyards are a Runeclaw Bear and a
Mortivore, and you exile them with The Mimeoplasm for it to become a
copy of the Runeclaw Bear that enters the battelfield with as many
+1/+1 counters as Mortivore's power, it will have 2 +1/+1 counters.

The way replacement effects work is that first you determine how the
event is modified, then the modified event happens. This means that as
The Mimeoplasm would enter the battlefield, you determine how this
event is modified. In the example above, it's modified into

[Exile Runeclaw Bear, exile Mortivore, The Mimeoplasm enters the
battlefield as a copy of Runeclaw Bear with a many +1/+1 counters as
    Mortivore's power]

which is, calculating the value for the last effect,

[Exile Runeclaw Bear, exile Mortivore, The Mimeoplasm enters the
battlefield as a copy of Runeclaw Bear with 2 +1/+1 counters].

Once this has been determined, since there are no more replacement
effects to be applied, the event happens.

Just a follow up question on Venser itself.

It is already given that you can youse a planeswalker's ability during your Pre-Combat Main phase. in this case, Can you also use the abilities during Post-Combat Main Phase?

    Thanks!

No. You can only use one ability of each planeswalker on each of your turn - regardless of before or after combat.

Edit: Just to clarify - You allowed one use in your main phase - this can be the pre or the post-combat main phase - but not both

I'm glad to see a GP in England again, would love for them to do another though, further south maybe.
Do you think England is too small to have 2 GP's?

If you see the attendance at english GPs compared to the attendance on other european GPs - I doubt that england will get more than one gp each year.

If you look at the old elo ratings, you can get a good estimate of the number of players:

    Europa: 130276 rated players
    North America: 229376 rated players

Beside that, the absolut number for a continent is not that important. For me, it's more important how many GPs are close enough so that I can afford to get to them. I don't know anything about travel costs in america, but I can afford to go to almost every european GP regarding travel time and cost. With the announcement of 6 US GPs and 4 EU GPs in the last 4 month, the ratio will be 19 to 10 which I believe is ok - not really good, but ok.

Does the PT invite include flights?

Probably not, at least nothing is announced yet. But the winner gets 3500$ price money which should cover the flight cost.

You can do something to potential attackers before and after attacks

No. After Attacks, they are no longer potential attackers. You can then do something, but that can't change, that these creatures have been declared as attackers and are attacking.

You can do something to potential blockers before and after blocks

Same here. After declaring blockers, the creature remains blocked and you can't undo the block.

You can do something about my combat only before i deal damage.

Sure you can do something after dealing the damage. It just doesn't change that the damage was dealt. Like you can't change that the attackers were declared, that the card in the draw stap was drawn, that the cards in the untap step were untapped etc.

On the battlefield, it's an artifact, in the graveyard not.

For triggered abilities, you have to look, how the worded. Most of them are worded like "when an artificat is put into the graveyard from the battlefield" (like Disciple of the Vault). This triggered abilities look for the state on the battlefield - where it was an artifact - and trigger.

Abilities that are worded like "when an artificat card is put into the graveyard from anywhere" check the state in the graveyard and won't trigger.
