Yes just something for lucky people I guess. Where did you get the "key of your math"? Is having a foil rare conspiracy card as rare as a normal foil rare in the same booster?
I'm curious what will happen in the future to more playable cards as lore seeker.
From my point of view not all card prices are up to date. Especially for commander players, there's lots of hidden value.
This is cornering at it's finest. Just a fun card from every single point of view. It grants you a first pick from a booster pack... Could be worse if you just have to hate-pick stuff in other colours
I believe this happened because of a buyout from speculators. They did not need that many cash to buy out such a "worthless" card.
I Feel sorry for all cube pimpers. Unbelieveable...
Personally I don't believe in speculation like this. Even if I'd hope it becomes a hit. I really doubt it.
I guess Chain Veil will never ever be close to playable in... every format? I mean if a deck needs it to win, it's just a bad deck. Like win more at best.
And there's another problem. We don't need only a synergy wich makes it worth playing it. We also need something like a PW that protect's it in form of hexrpoof, shroud or makes it indestructible for example.
Can't see this artifact going anywhere. Commander/EDH are the best place to have some fun with. Just casual appeal from my point of view.
Ye I agree. But I feel that was to expect, just because he's planeswalker. I feel 20 bucks are fair for a non-foil copy. People who whant/need him should buy him this year. I can see a increase next year when lot's of people realise there's not that many product left to be opened...
I don't know if reasonable is the word I'd use, but the range you listed is probably accurate. He is very fun to play with and the supply is extremely low relative to most sets so it might even continue to rise. I almost pulled the trigger @ $100, still not sure if I regret not doing it. Hopefully we'll see Dack as a judge promo next year or something. If we can get Nekusar, the Mindrazer and Karador, Ghost Chieftain we can get Dack Fayden.
In my world it's not a goal, or a fact n'or reality that WotcC should provide a foil copy of "insertwhateveryouwhant" (In this case it's Dack Fayden) for every magic player.
The goal of a common player should be more like being happy getting a non foil copy first. But granting people becoming everything in foil they whant, at best for dirt cheapn or maybe for a month-salary is a illusion from my point of view. I can see him printed in a prduct like From The Vault Planeswalkers or something similar.
But again. It's not nessesary that every smurf outa here has to own a foil of "everything" or as i have stated WotC has not to print every card possible in foil to satisfy "foiling out gnomes" (like me as well).
Stop being ridiculous. As stated previously every single one of these cards is easily obtainable, whether due to being reprinted many times or being directly available via the intro packs or deck builders toolkit. Sometimes I thin magic players complain for the sake of complaining.
That would have been the case except for 1 card which is what this topic is about. Read the title brother.
If Terra Stomper becomes a format staple (which it might) then Wizards has done the dirty on standard players.
Price spikes rarely happen for no reason at all.
Copper Gnomes anyone? I mean all you do here is speculation as well... So from my point of view, the spike is just because of speculation as well. Jump up the train and lose some dollars, but you've to be quick!
These things are almost certainly going to be printed like the flip cards in Innistrad and Dark Ascension, with cards of all rarities on the sheet(s), just in different numbers to approximate the rarity they show. But, the layout seems to be different, since the numbers/rarities don't fit the 13 or 20 (unique) card sheets previously used. I thought it would be 2 sheets with 13 each, but we already have too many commons.
This would be really awesome! For all who can get the hands of this product. If it comes out like this: It should be possible that you get about 3 Rare/Mythics in one booster would be so fun for draft. The downside is the speculation for profit oriented people as always...
I remember a guy in a box wars event, he had a booster with foil sorin, a non-foil (sorry not garruk) huntmaster and another rare... Completely insane!
Do you think the price will go down to normal levels after stores actually get their boxes in house?
Yes. I personally expect boxes to be valued below a normal box eventually. Perhaps in the $80 to $85 range.
In the USA definetely possible, while i'd say in europe not that much. Unless a lot of shops from central-europe or east-europe sell theyr boxes to west-europe it could be really scarce here in central europe.
And let me guess if you're right with the prices in the US, wouldnt it be a verry hard speculation target for everyone? Just imagine the boxes value and the value of singles...
If it would become such a speculation target, the price will skyrock through the roof and maybe to the moon?
Let me ask s/t off topic, do you have inside the USA such price differences as well as we have in every single country of europe? Because I know Mc Donalds has!
I don't get it why so many collectors have no idea at all. Sometimes it seems to me they don't know how "collector business" works in general...
Actually it's similar and not exactly the same as stamps for example. From my point of view it's simple, if a collector fears price decrease of a 20+ year old mint power card he's a fool.
Print run/quantity, rarity, condition, age, playability or like/dislike of the cards artist and his work and many more factors are important for the price.
I guess conspiracy has the potentional to do really well in the view of dealer/magic broker
Unfortunately we'll not know before by the end of the year how "screwed" or "flooded" the market is.
Speculators will definitely buy some boxes. (A lot of...) People who don't enjoy the fun draft format will not, they wait for singles.
So if the demand is not there to buyout all shops, there's no need to reprint it to much. We'll everyone can imagine how this ends...
Put me on the list of believers who think the product will be scarce.
Well this is your opinion/suggestion. MTGO shows you the opposite. 3xYJOU is heavy played. And I for example like it verry much as well. We're still talking about "fun".
Lot's of people don't think that commander can be fun for them. Just whant to describe, that conspiracy could be one of the next "cold snap" sets.
Without seeing the full spoiler, my guess is that these will start high and drop significantly. With the full list supposedly coming tonight, I'll be able to make a better judgment. For now, I'm thinking of this as a pseudo-UN set, both of which tanked hard before gaining real value.
my opinion is that there is already one confirmed card that has never been in foil before and is a crazy legacy card called: exploration. If in fact brainstorm AND swords to plowshares are in this I expect it to go up not down if only for the craziness of trying to crack those foils. I think the chase for the foils is what will keep the product going and remaining a high value. I know I want a foil exploration.
Foils should be relatively easy to obtain. Keep in mind, this is going to be a triple drafted "medium" sized set.
I believe the set will not be drafted as hard as a normal standart legal set.
In our area for example, there are more players interested in drafting "real tournament"-style. I remeber when journey into nyx has been released I asked if people whant to draft it different:
With three boosters of the new expansion or two boosters of nyx and one of born of gods(because I was sick of drafting theros...)most people denied. Even if they don't prepare for nationals (to get more experience) or what ever reason, they dont really enjoy "fun"-formats/possibilities... And just because a commander-foil-boy whants a exploration in foil, is not the reason to draft.
He'll get the cards in foil cheaper/faster on ebay/mkm & Co. But that might be different in your area.
