Watching a Time Spiral draft on channelfireball, and just curious, do you think they would reprint Ghostfire in this block? The name seems to fit the theme at least (even though it was speculated to be in ROE becuase of the flavor text), wonder what other people think.
If you just want combo protection, why not turn aside? It won't help win against counterspells, but any sort of naturalize or doom blade type cards it shuts down.
I'd rather play Spellskite.
This deck has piqued my interest. Card's that seem like this deck needs off the top of my mind.
If you didn't need morbid for the priest, I think we would be good. 4 Shrine and 4 Gather are good, maybe 2 Intangible Virtue. Personally, I love the interaction of Sorin Emblems + Midnight Haunting or EVEN Sorin vampire tokens + Bloodline Keeper.
Conley played ridiculously well there, haven't seen someone play that well before in a top 8 match. However, Wescoe punted game 1 hardcore (letting Conley Dispatch the Hero when he could've Mana Leak'd it and won next turn) and Conley topdecked like a champ in game 2. He's playing fantastic Magic right now, but he also has The Luck, which is equally as important in my mind.
Conley had mana leak mana up, 2 lands and a Mox Opal with metalcraft.
play unburial rites on Elesh Norn and win? You just have to watch for Beast Within and they can do nothing.
Cool play I did, my opponent is at 5, I have a 2/2 Thrun vs his Elesh Norn and I have Garruk. Pump Thrun to a 7/2, regenerate after killing elesh norn, draw 7 from garruk.
mmmmmmm
but yea, dedicated control decks can beat Wolf Run fine
I've been looking for cool new tech for the mirror. Chancellor of the Tangle is very interesting. It blocks Primeval Titan, even if it is a trade (wolf run pump). It can give you a turn 1 Rampant Growth, blocks Inkmoth with eaaasssee. The only problem is Beast Within. That card is super important for the mirror.
I do like Red Sun's Zenith for the mirror though. I think it's better than Devil's Play solely on the exile part, getting rid of pesky Wurmcoils...Then again, you can always Devil's play a Wurmcoil, then slagstorm then tokens, but that doesn't seem cost efficient.
Thinking about it now, Wolf-run ramp might just want to pack alot of attrition in the sideboard vs the mirror. Something like baby garruk, maybe urabrasks, and perhaps swords / acidic slime. I'm not too sure. If these decks board in Anceint Grudge for the inkmoths for the mirror, it will come down to landing garruks and big fatties
Yes, but UB permission beats it just like it beat caw-blade. Those of us who like to play true control and have stuck to our guns will be in great shape.
^Pretty much. Dedicated control decks have good match ups with Wolf-Run Ramp.
I'd rather play Spellskite.

I have 2 Garruk Relentless in my SB for the mirror. GARRUK WARS!
So you agree, you need more counterspells to help combat Wolf-Run Ramp?
lol...
Must be Rick Flair playing the deck.
..or just a typo'd wolf ramp
