This same reasoning can be applied to Mental Misstep,

No it can't lol Not even close, Mental Misstep is MILES of a better card in Legacy.

This card won't be banned and it certainly wont stop any dredge decks for sure. They will still Chain of Vapor it, go off and smack you in your face. And if it bugs you that much, run Crush or Spell Pierce in legacy, hell. A constantly changing meta is a good thing.

I kinda like Increasing Savagery. Not sure why, but the alpha strike potential on this card is pretty sweet. It's either this or Fires of Undeath, Briarpack Alpha, and Wolfhunter's Quiver. When in doubt, I'm going to take the rare =P

It's sad Burning Oil is the pick, because Red/White is just awful.

I voted for Bant. Man if we had 1 evolving wilds and 1 travelers amulet I would go 5 COLOR BABY!

I would pick Caress again, though I agree that picking Alpha is both an excellent pick and an important signal. But a kill spell is a kill spell.

    2 for 1 is a 2 for 1!

I'm curious to see how a BR or a Grixis Curse deck would do with that Curse of Misfortunes. Surely you can pick up a few curse of the pierce heart and probably a few more pieces of crap.. Iunno, just my inner johnny telling me to try new stuff out

    Pick the alpha, move on.

Soul Seizer is no Mind Control. You have to wait a turn, AND you have to connect. Too situational.

Burden of Guilt is what I'd pick. Aside from Gather the Townsfolk, no other white, you're going to cut that color. Other people will fight over the good blue.

Honestly, in another thread you argued that a 3BB removal spell is a first pick. .

It is first pickable. There is a WORLD of difference between 5 and 7 mana, not to mention if they bring in any artifact removal, you are boned. The vault is poo.

Monoblack loses to planeswalkers. All the time. So despises are recommended. Smallpox is bad. You have 0 ways to abuse it and it will wind up screwing you more than the opponent. What is your goal in going monoblack however? It is only for lashwrithe. Why dont you splash to add consistency and a better late and mid game?

Smallpox with gravecrawler. Discard or sac him. Smallpox with Messenger, comes back bigger.

It costs mana but it seems funny lol..
    Turn 1: Hex Parasite
    Turn 2: Dross Hopper
    Turn 3: Geralf's Messenger
    Turn 4: GO TO TOWN

    =P

Kinda reminds me of Staggershock vs Corpsehatch from ROE. Kinda unfair though, because Staggershock seems to be just plain better

This is pretty much off the top of my head. Seemed like Wizards were pushing Mono Black zombies with the new aditions of Geralf's Messenger and Highbourn Ghoul. Maybe there's a sweet UB Zombie deck in the future, but I wanted to focus on the power of Lashwrithe, and since there's a natural vacancy of 2-drops in the zombie deck, why not distress in a mono black deck?

Anyways, I'm open for suggestions and what are your thoughts on this rough draft?

White has alot of cards, but almost all of them are crap
Green has a few good cards, but not enough playables.
It sucks that you have 2 Burning Vengeance and can't use them either cause not near enough flashback.

I think it has to be UB with a small red splash (For fires and PROBABLY Desperate Ravings.) Blue offers some card draw, and some zombies that go well with blacks Zombie Apocalypse. The only problem going this route is you are somewhat low on creatures.

It's honestly tough to say. None of the colors are spectacular, and you might have to commit to 3 solid colors instead of 2 splashing a 3rd.

How is 4 damage for 9 better than a hard kill? Would you pick Galvanic Blast over Spread the Sickness? Deaths Caress is the pick. Im also a little biased as i hate red.

Death's Caress can't 2 for 1 them. And fires can fit in burning vengence decks..I guess.

The pack is pretty good, I'm leaning toward Fires of Undeath.

I think the best route is UW, with a red spalsh. Should be easy with a Clifftop Retreat and a Shimmering Grotto. May or may not even need a mountain.
