Run Trinisphere and Pyroclasm-like cards to keep his field clean. As stated above, something like Dragon's Claw could also be of help. Lightmine Field is also great if you can survive long enough to play it against him.
My bigger question is: what compels her to leave Keral Keep? Simply changing whims?
After she cools down from Gideon accidentally firing her up, she might reflect on her role in the Eldrazi's release and possibly feel guilty over it. Dooming an entire plane and its people was never her intention, so methinks she'll return to clear her conscience, possibly. She also just might decide that burninating the Eldrazi is more fun than running a keep. Chandra could go either way, really.
As a general rule, the ages of characters in Magic are left unknown since it is an unnecessary detail. You can ballpark many of the humans, but you can't always be certain. For instance, and someone feel free to fill in what I'm missing, but Jace seems to be around twenty-ish at most, a similar range being reasonable for Chandra as well. Gideon looks about mid twenties, but may just look older due to a life filled with stress and battle. Nissa, like all elves, is difficult to guess due to the difference in aging compared to humans. She could be thirty, forty, or any age young by elven standards. Liliana is only known to be over two hundred years old or so, due to her demon pacts.
For casual, just pick something that looks cool to you and your brother. You'll develop tastes over time as you get a feel for the game and all the specifics, so for the time being it would be wisest to just get something you like or think you will like. Don't worry about "value" just yet, especially when starting out. For you, it's not a business, but just a hobby.
Considering how many other more popular planes there are to revisit (Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, Alara, Dominaria, and so on), Kamigawa is unlikely to see another cycle for a long time. Unless Phyrexia is wrecking it, which I would totally get behind. It would be more of a slaughterfest than Mirrodin, though...
Free for all down to my friend running her mono blue Merfolk deck and me using my mono blue Wizard shenanigans deck. I have a handful of creatures but am getting killed by unblockable Merfolk. Upkeep comes around, I notice that my friend has Thassa, God of the Sea down with sufficient devotion. Copy it with Cryptoplasm and proceed to throw a bunch of unblockable creatures at my friend for game. Now if I had a nickle every time Cryptoplasm saved my life...
Venser - Dead, and probably going to stay dead, according to Mark Rosewater.
Considering how Venser fused with Yawgmoth's physical remains in a teleporting incident and Yawgmoth became a god still alive on Phyrexia (assuming it hasn't collapsed due to mana imbalance), we might see Yawgmoth reanimate Venser's body and become a 'walker (finally). Besides, you can't stop the 'chops.
It's kinda disappointing that Fallen Angel didn't make the cut, but things like Aurelia, the Warleader and Archangel of Strife did. Past that and Iona's lame art, I'm almost as happy as I was with Relics. Dare I hope next year's Vault will be this good?
Brighthearth Feat1R
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Whenever enchanted creature attacks, you may put a -1/-1 counter on it, and if you do Brighthearth Feat deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
My only gripe with Return to Zendikar is the way-too-obvious death of Ulamog. He's one of my three favorite things in Magic, along with Kozilek and Emrakul.
And what makes it worse is his death would be pointless. He's not the most powerful and the plane was straight up abandoned by the other two. The only reason this block exists is to save Zendikar, which is just another plane in a multiverse of infinite planes. Really holding out hope here that the plot somehow gets hijacked by Ob, Zendikar gets destroyed and he gets his spark back. Ulamog's survival would only be a plus.
Keep in mind that the Eldrazi's forms on Zendikar are not their bodies. As Ugin (I believe) described it, those forms are more or less manifestations of their actual selves. In order to actually kill an Eldrazi 'walkers would have to battle in the Blind Eternities, which not even the greatest pre-mending 'walkers could do easily.
Not Bolas. Never Bolas. He knows that his plans will succeed, but he's arrogant as all heck. As for honest confidence, I'd say Karn or Ugin since both are reasonable choices, according to lore. Most 'walkers nowadays have plenty of doubt, so it takes a lot for a 'walker to have true confidence.
Tezzeret, the Seeker is "Tezzie"
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is "Secret Agent Man"
Daretti, Scrap Savant is "Goblin Pope"
Birds of Paradise is "Death"
Storm Crow is "God" and sometimes "Urza"
