This isn't completely true. Yeah "we" took this land from the Indians but that is a very loose "we" my ancestors for Germany and Sweeden came here around 1810 and were legal immigrants. They fought for the North and they fought for the allies. They were about as legal as legal can be. Now if you want to come here legally that is great and I encourage it, but please don't expect any sympathy from me if you are an illegal and get deported.
Most of the guys at the shop are liberal. I am a "Conservative Libertarian" if that makes any sense. I am a conservative though and I am in the minority. I don't know why that is though.

A few years ago my dad had a massive brainstem stroke and lived even though we were told (while he was still in surgery) that noone really lives through stuff like that. We were lucky that he had the record time of getting into the hospital, diagnosed, and into surgery in the history of the hospital. He was he was in the hospital for six months and was always rambling about stuff like "dont go to vietnam" "I dont want to fight in Maine" (he was a Vietnam Vet) Four years later he still has very limited short term memory and has limited mobility. Not as sobering as him dieing but still sobering as I lost the dad I once had forever.
There is a girl that plays limited at my shop and everyone respects her because she is good and not just some ditz playing to make her boyfriend happy, (seen that too). She had won like 4 FNM drafts in a row so I didn't feel to bad beating her in the finals though I still had the "don't beat a woman stigma in me" I did find it kinda annoying that she wore lowcut shirts and alot of really good perfume to try and mess the guys up. I guess you got to use whatever advantage you can get.
I'm so tired of all of this America bashing. I am a German American and I love my heritage, but I can see what a truely great country America is. You can say we do nothing for the world but guess who gives the most money to feed the rest of the world and who gives the most food. Guess who defeated Communisim and turned the tide against Hitler. Racism is dieing and it is now overwelmingly worse to be a racist than to be a minority. Who are all these people opressing everyone else? I dont see it. I've lived in extremely wealthy areas and very poor areas. I have been overseas and to 80%+ of the US. We do have some problems as a nation but we are one of the greatest if not the greatest and strongest nation in the world. And thats the reason everyone hates us.
But then again, I have never experienced anyone elses life. I've done alot and seen alot in my life but if you guys can explain some experiences in your lives (not just ambiguous statements about how bad we are) then I might be inclined to believe all this.
You man, today coincidentially I watched a show about the Rapture and Rapture Believers on the Discovery (or maybe Science or Discoverey Times) Channel. The whole notion seems quite ridiculous to me. If you don't understand why, I'll tell you. Because the entire thing was invented in the nineteenth century by an English theologist. Secondly, the writings that he did on it state that you will ascend if you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior. That idea seems quite un-Christian to me. Because you can except Jesus as your savior (as someone as Phelps does), despite the fact that you beat your children and wife, force your children to work for you selling stolen candy, and then if they don't sell enough, beat them some more. If you're going to tell me this guy is going to Heaven, I'll take my seat in Hell right now.
No man can ever really judge another if they truely have accepted Christ as their savior. But when you are saved there should be a change in your life that is evident. The evidence in this man's life is that he never did accept Christ as his saviour because of the evidence of blind hatred and egomania. Phelps says that every other pastor including Billy Grahm are false prophets and are going to hell. I say HE is the false prophet.
