I think foreign cards are very bad for a cube unless you only have one select group of people that you will draft with and plan to never allow any new people to join.
I want to make sure everyone understands each card, which is why I've also shied away from using textless cards.... although I really wanted to use my players reward Cryptic Command in the cube.
To be fair, it probably would be bad if I regularly played with people who didn't know what cards did. I mean, there is definitely that risk... but I love having a pimp cube so much that I just sort of deal with it, you know?
To some of the poeple with a cube, I was wondering, what is (estimated) the amount of money you've spent on it?
In terms of actual money, about $200 in one-to-five dollar increments for foils and foreign cards.
In terms of what the cube is worth, about $1000-$1500. I mean, I had four Cryptics and four Reflecting Pools and four textless Wraths after Regionals last year. I now have one of each, and they're all in the cube. Entire T2 decks have gotten traded for cube stuff.
Of course, my cube is unpowered and doesn't have the original duals in it, so your mileage may vary, but I'm pretty sure I could get $1k for it if I was to trade every card in it right now.
And Entangling Vines says that the guy doesn't untap "during your untap step" - presumably its controller's, and it doesn't give the dude an ability, as that's way too old-school.
hey guys. I read over the text and made a few changes (spelled burning inquiry correctly, made the walker fixes, and changed all instances of "plays" to "casts") and I set it up in a new .txt file. if you guys want to use it, feel free.
Stampeding Rhino is still down as a Creature - Rhini, but the rest is great.
EDIT: More relevantly, the charms are down as costing 1, not 2, which they do.
I have no problem with Hellkite at Mythic. It's big, splashy, and powerful. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for, like Godsire. Sure, it's a better card than Godsire, but I don't see its power level leading to problems with it being too staple-ish for mythic (unlike Planeswalkers, but Acquisition needs some help.)
It's powerful in Limited, though I don't see any reason it could not just be rare, as it's not that broken. It's good, it's got flavor... whatever. I'm sure I'm just missing why I'm wrong because I'm not a big important mtgsalvation poster.
I never really understood why tribal wasn't a supertype myself. I was under the impression if a cardtype couldn't function without another card type, that made it a super type. Like, you can't just have snow and likewise you can't just have Tribal. Anyone care to fill me in on that bit?
A supertype can't be associated with a list of card types. Tribal's type list is defined as "this is the list of all creature types", which requires that it be a type to have those as subtypes.
I guess that makes sense. I need to see a card to understand how "unpredictable" effects takes place.
But wait a minute: Are there even 10 MtG planes? Dominaria, Mirrodin, Kamigawa, Ravnica, Lorwyn, Shadowmoor, Alara, Zendikar. That's 8. If they count the Shards of Alara multiple times I'm going to whine.
Take your pick. Most of that first list I only knew from Wikipedia. The second list is ones we've had sets set in.
edit: Yes it was. Serra made it. Then she left and it collapsed and I'm pretty sure it or at least most of its white mana ended up as part of the Weatherlight somehow.
Interesting play, but it seems like abuse that would/should be covered in the rules...but it's not. Oh well.
Abuse? Ridiculous. It's a private zone. If you can't fail to find it when it's revealed to everyone, what about finding it when you're looking?
And if you have to find it then, why are you allowed to whiff on someone else's library?
I mean, normally I don't like the slippery slope argument, but when you're in a two player game it's functionally identical to look at a hand and have that hand revealed, with the difference being that MODO won't remind you when you look.

Thankfully, it's not just Traumatic Visions 2.0 anymore, apparently. Looking forward to it.

That would make my week. No joke.
Azoria, Equilor, Gastal, Segovia, Shandalar, Wildfire.
Ulgrotha, Mercadia, Rabiah, Rath, Serra's Realm.

WorkstationFolder/Pics/ARB
just like every other set
or did you mean "in a zip on megaupload for us"?
