I like the experimenting that people are planning on doing and the variety of Turns builds there are despite having an established "optimal" build.

What are people's thoughts on viable planeswalkers for Turns? Seems like Jace Beleren and Chandra, Torch of Defiance can both be effective and provide good utility. There's also the suite of planeswalkers that show up in UG variants. What about other planeswalkers like Ob Nixilis Reignited or one of the good Gideon's?

I think the idea here is that the 2 you've mentioned are both engines and win conditions. Chandra probably wouldn't be playable if she want effectively a "2 mana planeswalker" and Jace is borderline already at 3. I think if they don't both help you get to where you want to be and win once you're there they aren't worth the slot.

Here is the specific list I was talking about utilizing as foretold. I haven't seen any shenanigans with savor the moment though. It's a bit more all in than I'd like, Perhaps there should be ~4 cards that provide interaction to help with the hyper agressive matchups.

Is there a concensus for what the better engine is between mines and as foretold with ancestral and wheel?

    as foretold
    Pros:
    Asymmetric draw engin
Cons: relies on a single card with no surgical protection

    "Howling mine"
    Pros:
    More redundancy

    Cons:
    Digs your opponents too.

I tend to lean towards my opponents not drawing cards and playing draw 7s in modern seems sick.

My experience play testing the match up is nothing like what you've said. We've even played games where they start 4 lands deaths shadow inq serum visions and i get to pick my opening 7 and I lose still. It seems like the match up is unwinnable without at least winning the die roll.

Maybe I've just been incredibly unlucky but more threats than they have disruption is tough when they have snap caster and 1 mana interaction everywhere

Can someone explain to me how people are beating death shadow with this deck? I don't think I've won a single game and I often die with a Pentad prism on the field and no cards in hand due to having multiple discard effects and a follow up denial. we don't do anything proactive really so we have to just pray to top deck and there isn't a huge window to do so when your opponent is attacking you with a 7/7 on turn 3.
I think I'm going back to mire inquisition to try and fight back

I think I'm off the turbo list honestly the deck just isn't proactive enough. I've been losing too many games to inquisition > snap caster

I went to the scg event this weekenf and I felt like the deck is not on the same level as a lot of other decks in the format. I managed to beat an affinity deck and a storm deck over the weekend which was surprising but I found winning the die roll is insanely important and I don't think I beat a death shadow deck that had 2 pieces of discard in the first 3 turns(which happened more than I would have liked. I also lost to a dredge vine deck and exalted triggers+too many expensive cards in my hand. Green attacking creatures are supposed to be what we excel at beating :/.

Is anyone else going to scg Cincinnati this weekend? I'm going to try out the chalice side board plan there in the classic (even though I Said I had finalized my list lol)

Just thought I'd stop by and let you know Conley was playing this deck on steam last night but 4 color. Here's a link to his list but it's still untuned

I think the biggest argument is drawing KCI feels terrible where as drawing sieve is just slightly sub optimal. It's still a rock and you can conceivably use it without thopter+sword online for value KCI without the combo is even more do nothing and it can be difficult to get out of our hand.

TLDR: sieve over KCI because of cmc in a bridge deck

Interesting. Ulamog is the main reason I'm running a spellskite in the board of my deck. I'm going to a pptq and I know there will be minimum 3 of the 20-30 people there playing tron because they're the tron guys who play it regardless of its place in the meta. I've never particularly cared for padeem because I hate drawing 2 lands with bridge out. I play to be hell bent as much as possible that's partially why I've been a big fan of the single tutor. Do you think 2 pulse 2 decay is the best split or would 3 decay 1 pulse be mite optimal? I guess pulse gives more outs to things like karn in bad match ups
