Interesting render. Reminds me of futuresight but a lot more organized. Nicely done. Smile

    Umaro,

1.) I understand the point your making, and I'm sure that other people feel the same way. But as the saying goes, "It only takes a few to ruin it for everybody" To many times people here have found their art and or renders posted on ebay and other sites being sold illegally, even if it is listed as a proxy. If you want to create physical renders that's your right and business, but use caution when publicly taking about it, The Forum creators and moderators here at MTGS have to take a legal, moral and objective stance by making it known that advocating, providing walkthroughs, pictures, tutorials, or any other know how on creating and/or printing proxies is illegal and could end up with permanent infractions or worse a lawsuit from WOTC. While it may be unfair to lump the terms proxy and counterfeit together, doing so keeps you, MTGS, and other people safe from a lot of trouble. Nodding the Affirmative

2.) When I first started digitally rendering here, I felt the same way. I thought that putting the *not for sale* on the card was defacing it and lower the overall quality.... I was wrong. OMG I soon found my renders along with several other people's made on physical cards being sold on ebay. It is a horrible feeling knowing that someone else is profiting from your work and threatening the livelyhood of this place. It is no different with WOTC. I know it sucks, but you could do like holyproxybatman and have a personal and a posting copy. As for me I found a way to tastefully add it the copyright line, allowing the render to still look as I want it.

3.) As for taking pictures and posting them, I have seen other people on several other threads post pictures of their renders. While this is allowed, it is also a gray spot depending on the picture because it may show your method of how you did it or what you used. That may have been the reason you had issues with the last time. Like Holyproxybatman said, its all to make it harder for the few dishonest people to ruin something good and get MTGS or its threads locked down or closed. I would just like to let you know that you have very nice renders, but suggest that you use caution when it comes to posting pictures of cards in your cube. I don't want to discourage you, or make you feel like I'm trolling you, it's just that a lot of us want this to be a safe and open place where we can share renders, ideas and/or opinions. Otherwise, I hope to see some of your renders posted in the future and continue to help make this an awesome place for new comers and veterans alike.

    BlackBull,
I hope I didn't overstep or steal your thunder with my post. If I did, I apologize.

    Holyproxybatman,
I really like your choice on doing the enchantment sideways with super art. Between your art choice and template mod, I think it paid off and looks great! Smile I do have a question, what steps did you use to turn the card template sideways. I know my way around photoshop, but i'm still learning about all its features.

    narb777,
I have to say, for first renders.... wow. That Lotleth Troll is sick! I look forward to seeing more stuff from you. Smile

Last but not least, here are a few toys I just finished:

Just to leave it clear for everyone, digital artists aren't "proxying" here, but "rendering" and/or "digitally altering". Proxies (aka: counterfeits) aren't legal and could lead anyone involved in their making process to be sanctioned.

So, happy rendering for eveyrone. Thumbs Up

Very true, and well said. I stand corrected and agree with BlackBull's statement. It is one thing to digitally render, but another to illegally counterfeit and sale/distribute cards. I read somewhere on one of the previous MTGS forums that when you trade/sale proxies you are not only breaking the copyright law, but are also subject to Intellectual copyright laws and infringement laws as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As said before, happy rendering. Grin

Well in your voice of resurgence, for example, part of the frame is the default green frame, while the rest of it is the default multicolored frame. With my limited abilities, I can only seem to make it one color or the other (depending on how the layers are ordered).

I'm assuming you have erase part of the "gold" frame so the green frame underneath shows through or something like that? Also, the template I have doesn't have the set symbol you use built in (and the set symbol template I found only has the traditional magic set symbols). Did you make that yourself or did you find it somewhere?

Apologies for being so uninformed, I've only just started trying to fiddle with photoshop so I don't know very much.

EDIT: Thanks for the explanation Kentu, it's cool that you can make such unconventional looking magic cards with a bit of clever layer manipulation. I see you also have a unique set symbol on your card. Did you make that yourself or do you guys find these somewhere?

Thanks Jarf, glad I could help. As for my expansion symbol, I found it on the web, however I am working on creating my own for future use. Just as a heads up if you are looking for templates or walkthroughs, I have several links in my sig that you can go to, or you can always check the OP and it will have links too. As I said before, if you want some help or information feel free to PM me and I'll do what I can to help. Happy Rendering Thumbs Up

Oh wow, I really like that voice of resurgence. It's like the green and yellow from the original artwork took over the entire card frame.

Do you have a template of some sort for it? I have the basic future sight one, but I really like the set up of your version.

    Hey Jarf and Kampfer,

    Kampfer,
I think I know what Jarf is asking, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

    Jarf,
Me, Kampfer and others, use the basic templates that are provided on MTGS and the link in my sig. All we do is copy, cut, paste different layers, filters, or shaders. It can take some time to get a desired look such as Kamp's voice ot resurgence. Here is another example. Tolarian Academy, using CXA26483's Modern Template. All I did was copy the blue, multi, and land templates, selected which layers I wanted enabled and disabled, deleted text box from other layer groups (thats why I make a copy of all layers I work with), copy the blue mana symbol watermark from a different template, hid title and card type layers except blue, disabled frame layers except for gold, and disabled backgrounds except for land. Like I said, it can take some time or it could be really quick and simple. If you are interested in trying your hand at it feel free to PM me, and I'm pretty sure Kampfer wouldn't mind a PM or two to help out. I hope this answers your question. Best of luck, and look forward to seeing some of your work.:)

So, I did some searching and all I found was the same picture. I used photohsop to get a better look the picture with all that glorious resolution... (insert irony here) and found that it is 2U. I will repost once updated.

thanks a lot and interesting art you choose for the Bident too. Smile But I really doubt about its activation costs. Is that 1U or 2U actually?

Thank you. I had some thoughts about that too. As per the MTGS spoiler list it says 1U, but it looks like 2U. I'll do a little more searching for it and change it if needed.
