Quote from solidscheme »Quote from GoST- »I disagree. None of the elves, goblins, merfolk, robots and whatever are playable on their own as singular cards. Their power comes from a reliant on tribal synergy and the way the cards work with each other. Eldrazi requires no such thing. Their power comes from being overly efficient, value creatures being played for less than their casting cost.
Matter Reshaper, Eldrazi Displacer, TKS, Smasher and drowner are all perfectly fine and balanced cards even without Eldrazi temple.
You must be having a really hard time with Eldrazi. Eldrazi Temple is only a 4-of in a 60 card deck. It doesn't guarantee anything. Without the temple, the Eldrazi spells would be useless. It is nowhere near ban-worthy.
If you banned Temple TKS Smasher would still see play, they are strong enough on their own. I mean before Eldrazi winter happened people were talking about BGcolorless to fit those two into the Rock shell. I'm not sure if you saying that all the creatures would be "useless" or just the actual instant and sorcery spells; because if your saying TKS and Smasher would be useless I'm pretty sure your wrong.

If renwotac's list is as good as he claims it is, somebody will pick it up and put up results with it sooner or later whether it's on a GP, an SCG tournament or online.
It may sound rude of me to say, but results prove more than debate.
Until the build puts up results somewhere, you can't really make claims about which build is correct, or stronger or whatever.
We'll see in the upcoming months.

Vjeran Horvat had 3 main when he won GP prague, when DRS was around.
Shohei Mita had 2 main and he finished 3rd/4th in Kobe. This was pre- treasure cruise. ( probably the most similar field to the current predicted meta-game )
Vjeran Horvat then again narrowly missed top 8 in Milan running 2 main in the treasure cruise meta.
So frankly I dont understand why people are going around saying cryptic command is a bad card in this archetype when the finishes say otherwise.

I mean c'mon you could at least show some respect to your opponent.

With the most notable list in the top 8 running a full set of Blade Splicers in place of Geist as well as 2 Elspeths in the main deck.
It's also worth noting that the spell suite in this deck runs more control style cards like cryptic command, mana leaks and spell snare instead of the burn spell suite that legitmtg have been rolling with in the past couple of weeks.

There is another very interesting list in the top 32.
This one runs no geists, no restoration angels, no blade splicers.
This one ran a full set of lightning angels alongside venser, shaper savant as a 2-of.

What's most interesting to me is the absence of keranos in both of these lists.
Since the deck put up a good result in a big GP, here's to hoping we can get back to proven.
Thoughts ?
