If it's about the lifegain I find that Vampire Nighthawk is a useful option to go along with Grave Titan. A Nighthawk on t3 can help out a lot against the aggro match-up, it provides life gain, hinders all there little creatures early on, and paves the way for a t6 Grave Titan. Nighthawk I have found also forces opponents to waste removal spells.
I really don't think WCE is that good aggainst the aggro match-up because it's just to slow, and as for the mirror it doesn't seem as overwhelming as GT. He does avoid GftT but the way things are looking with the new tez GftT is probably going to see less play and everyone will be back to Doom Blade.
Glad it's working well for you...... but.... you took out Yosei????
Yeah it's been working well. Yosei was just dropped where I focus more on token sac, so I opted with more token producers. I'll see how it works out tomorrow at the EDH tourney.
And btw I read your primer on GCO and Teysa, good job man!
Go all the way, dude. Contamination and Infernal Darkness for the win.
Also, consider No Mercy and Necromancer's Covenant.
I like Contamination and I can just imagine the ways I can abuse it, just need to find something to drop..
Infernal Darkness seems a bit unneeded and Necromancer's Covenant would hurt to much where I like to use Yawgmoth's will to re-use all my tutors and combo off.
After the release of Vampire Nocturnus I fell in love with Vampire tribal. Now that Nocturnus has left us in standard and with my recent transition to EDH I felt it was about time I built a Vampire Tribal deck!

The local games shop is now holding EDH every sunday so I had to drop all banned cards (I ended up playing Balance and Recurring Nightmare and loved them!) so my deck is now more tailored to competitive play. I'm still one of the best around! =]
I wouldn't say go right to limited to get back into magic (Even though it is a good place to get your tempo going). It all really depends on what you want out of your magic experience. If you want competitive, serious play go into limited to get used to the current cards in format. If you want a more laid back casual play, but with the option of becoming semi-competitve, try EDH (Semi-competitive because it really depends on your area and the support for the format). Standard is fun and holds a lot of support from players, but EDH in my opinion is much more fun and relaxed, but doesn't hold the same kind of support from players.
A funny little combo that I was almost debating is False Cure + Beacon of Immortality. Double players life and then false cure so they lose all life instead.
I play a deck like this and I found that Grave Pact is a beast. When I have Grave Pact + Skullclamp + Bitterblossom I found that chances are that's game.
I also think Academy Rector would fir nicely into this deck as it's a dude that's just asking to be sac'd.
Thanks, a few of those cards I've been meaning to try out. I've been trying to get my hands on a Vindicate for some time now but have had some troubles. I would really like to try out Land Tax and Balance. I can see Sun Titan working really well for those matches that don't allow me to keep combo pieces on the board, and Bitterblossom just seems ridiculos if I have a Skullclamp, Phyrexian Tower, or Blasting Station out with Grave Pact (Blasting Station often times gets left out while Darkest Hour and Painter's Servant get targeted by things like Jester's Cap or other removal spells).
I've found that Mobilization can be very underwhelming at times and would much rather have Elspeth Tirel out (Another card which I'm trying to get, haha).
I reallly like the auto win combo with Raveillark and Karmic Guide where as I've said before cards like Darkest Hour and Painter's Servant immediatly attract hate. I also really like Recurring Nightmare so I'll probably have to try it out along with some other cards.
Again, thanks! I will post any changes I make to the deck and make note of how well it works. =]
The main strategy is to control the board with Grave Pact long enough to get off a combo in one turn with Yawgmoth's Will. The combo is Tesya + Darkest Hour/Painter's Servant + Altar of Dementia/Blasting Station.
I've been using Ultra Pro as my sleeve of choice for some time now, and what I've found is that the plain sleeves with the colored backs have worked the best, shuffling well and lasting for months. I've tried the Ultra Pro sleeves with art on the back but found that they peel and tear after only a month or so of use, also they don't shuffle very well.
My friend uses Dragon Shield and says that they are amazing, I've tried them out and found they shuffle well and last a very long time.
The other day I picked up Max Protection Tournament Sleeves and found that they shuffle very well, I would go as far to say that they shuffle better than the Ultra Pro and Dragon Shield Sleeves. They seem tough and looks that they could have a long life span, but I'm not sure. I was wondering if anybody else have tried them and what their opinion is of them, and how much use have you had with them?
I thought it would be cool for people to post there MTG related Christmas gifts you received or have given!
I got my EDH loving friend the premium fire and lightning deck with a couple of cool Boros cards to get started on a new deck.
For my competitive friend I have gotten a few fetch lands, a few Stoneforge Mystic and a foil Iona, Shield of Emeria.
For my working buddy who only has the time to play casual I got a few dragons for his Scion the Ur-Dragon EDH.
For my very "Energetic" friend I got him a foil Elite Vangaurd.

Yes, I am biased for EDH
