Considering the tips of the OP, it clearly has something to do with Dark Confidant and Inspiration. I can't really get much more than that.

    My guess:

    Springleaf Flute

    Mana cost: 3

1T, choose a color and tap target creature you control: Add mana to your pool equal to that creature's devotion to that color.

Would such a mechanic ever work?

The claims that Anthousa, Setessan Hero was the worst promo were completely innacurate. The card is an absolute beating and was the most important card in my deck (and I had a Xenagos and a Purphoros in it, mind you). I would say that she is the second or third best promo without a doubt, playing well both on offense and defense. In one game I was down to 3 life, facing 4 creatures on the other side of the board and not only she saved my butt with a well timed Salvage Surge but also completely turned the tide when I drew a Time to Feed the next turn. When I cast a Portent of Betrayal on her to deliver lethal a couple of turns later I knew she was trouble.

Also, Boon Satyr is as strong as it seems, both his modes are incredibly strong. Nylea's Disciple and Sedge Scorpion were also very important cards in my deck, holding up the ground until one of my bombs could land, the Disciple also gaining me an extra life to help even more.

I ended up second in the tournament, which made me happy, but after looking at my pool again I think I made a mistake by going RG and should have been playing BG (I was blinded by my bombs), maybe I could have won the tournament with the other build.

I played quite a lot of games on the Magic Online beta server, and while there are some bomby cards here and there, there's nothing remotely close to Pack Rat level. Even the Gods are actually answerable (to tell the truth, the God's Weapons are in most situations better than the Gods). Probably the card I'm most worried to face is the Reaper of the Wilds. That card is sooo strong it's not even funny, prepare to cry when you face it t4.

The quality of the whining never stops to decrease. Seriously you think Steam Augury is as bad as Inspiration? Remember to come back in a couple months to see how wrong you were.

This card is powerful, not FoF power, but we're comparing to one of the best draw spells ever printed. Also, this card is so skill-intensive that it really will separate good players from bad ones.

Everyone is super spoiled after having Shocks back. Anything short of Fetchlands or the original Duals would make people scream.

The lands are quite good, obviously not for aggro deck, but midrange/control will love playing some lands that smoothes their draws. They're better than Hallimar Depth, and that saw some play not long ago.

You guys should calm down, wait for the release and then start playing with those.

Does Giantbaiting have any place in Stompy? My thinking is that it should be fairly easy to conspire, 3 mana and tapping 2 creatures for 2 hasty 4/4s at least sounds good.

I'm asking because I'm genuinely curious. I'm a terrible player most of the time so I'm trying to figure it out

Even in a best case scenario, where you cast Giantbaiting with 2 Nettle Sentinel in play, I don't see any reason to run this card. It can be so easily disrupted that's absolutely no way to fit the card in.

Using Probe and Street Wraith obviously have its problem. Imagine opening a hand with two lands, Probe, Wraith and 3 non-creature spells. Do you think it's a keeper? Will you risk cycling the cards and not drawing any thread? Probe is justifiable because of its interaction with the deck, but I can't see a reason to play the Street Wraith in it.
Back when I was playing this deck I used 2 Gush and the card was awesome, being a free draw spell which sometimes help to generate extra mana by letting you replay the Island you returned to hand. I think you should try it before adding those Wraiths.

Unbanning Grapeshot/EtW would be as damaging and format warping as Temporal Fissure. It would force decks to have maindeck responses for it or just scoop game 1 all along.
There's just one solution on the way: banning Fissure. I'd go far and suggest ban Glimmerpost too, so that Cloudpost could still see play in control decks, but losing some of its power.

Maze of Ith (it never was Uncommon in MTGO though) and Mental Misstep, without a doubt.

Well then, I completely agree with you. I'm not a very experienced player of Stompy, but Silhana is awesome against Post, and I don't think anyone in their right mind should think that Skirge is better on this matchup...

Oh God... I don't believe someone really claims to be the "creator" of WeeFiends because he thought of the deck in 2013...

Playing the devil's attorney on this subject, resistance to removal is important in some degree or else we wouldn't be discussing a 2 mana 1/1 creature... But yeah, we can't force the argument that much because if so we end up playing something as atrocious as the Hexproof deck.

I don't think that Scattershot main is the right direction. Stompy is a aggro deck, with no way to dig for answers. Specially with Vault Skirge also in the main, that seems like a nombo to me.
If you have to make a choice, you should either join the Skirge hype or go completely against it and use the Archer as answers against both Stompy, Delver and FissurePost. Using both at the same time feels so wrong.

Edit: I really hope that Theros does something to shake Pauper up. Really, going to a point where I consider Vault Skirge or Scattershot Archer in the main deck of Stompy is a signal that something is going very wrong with the format.

Kalonian Tusker would be interesting, but he's uncommon...
