Some real spicy ones that I like a lot are Builder's Bane and Mage's Guile. I'm not playing any soft counters or equipment other than Whispersilk Cloak. I'm also playing Deranged Assistant, who does tons of work, Elgaud Shieldmate, and Crimson Wisps + Accelerate to add to the haste spell suite. The basic landcycler spells, fiery fall and traumatic visions, also made it in. Flux can make your chimera really big in a hurry.
I picked blue as my color. My rares were Shipbreaker Kraken (promo), Master of Waves, Bident of Thassa, Whip of Erebos (foil), Firedrinker Satyr, the r/g temple, Anger of the Gods, Anax and Cymede. I played blue-black.
My list was:

Notes: Whip of Erebos is insane. Lifelink on your whole team is worth the price of entry by itself, and the reanimation ability is insane icing.
Rescue from the Underworld sacrificing Mnemonic Wall is also insane, recurring your best dead guy plus Read the Bones or Griptide.
Master of Waves as a 2/1 pro-red is just decent against most red decks since they have a bunch of tramplers. But if you have a decent amount of devotion he's great for producing a bunch of blockers.
I went 4-2, dropping a few games to mana screw. This put me in 9th place, just outside of prizes.
In the event that they are legendary creatures, who among us would make an edh deck with them as a commander knowing that they are mono-coloured
I favor mono-colored EDH heavily, so I would (depending on their effects). I suspect many others would as well (I went to some trouble putting together a demon theme deck for Griselbrand only to have him banned).
If you both pass priority in the declare blockers step, the Stinger hits you. You don't get to both hold up Bolt for his pump spell and not risk being hit by the Stinger.
Hey I wasn't saying you guys are wrong by any means. My Jarad deck can still work just the same. Could someone post the rules section on it? Like I'm saying again I'm not saying you guys are wrong but I would just like to see the rules on it.

Shuffle all cards from your graveyard into your library. Target player puts that many cards from the top of his or her library into his or her graveyard.
I picked Splatter Thug, since a 3/3 first strike for 3 is always good, he's less of a strain on the mana base than Azorius Justiciar, and I think Red is a good color to be in in this format based on the cards I've seen.
Deathrite just does nothing for multiple turns when you cast him, and none of the multicolor cards are that powerful.
Of all the EDH decks I've built, this mono-brown list (splashing red) has been my most constant companion, having never been disassembled once built.
Don't let the general or the color deceive you; in the words of a friend of mine, "I forgot how blue you play red."
So why play Slobad?
There are other legendary creatures in the deck. Why play Slobad as the Commander?
Well, he does a number of important things. First, although kind of silly, he looks nonthreatening. A random two-drop goblin that sacrifices artifacts. No real combat prowess. Neat, I guess. What's the next guy playing?
His existence in the command zone puzzles people, which is valuable every now and again.
Second, he provides a sacrifice outlet for most of your deck. He recycles Spine of Ish Sah, cashes in Junk Diver, blanks exile removal, and sets up loops with Nim Deathmantle.
Third, he does what it says on the card: Makes things indestructible. Faced with a board wipe (Akroma's Vengeance, Nevinyrral's Disk, whatever) you get to keep half of your artifacts at worst. The important half.
And he does these two things for free, at instant speed. Whenever you need it, you got it. And since he's so cheap on the mana himself, you can get him out early, and he looks nonthreatening, so no one will bother removing him.
As far as the deck...
I built this deck roughly two years ago and have been cutting, adding and updating ever since.
It previously contained:
- Bludgeon Brawl (for hilarious Slobad general damage wins; cut for being too cute)
- More planeswalkers (cut for having too low of an impact)
- Karn, Silver Golem (cut for Bosh, who plays better in the deck)
- Infect/poison win conditions (Grafted Exoskeleton and what not. Cut because my playgroup dislikes it)
When I win, generally there is a lethal burn spell on the stack, or my opponents have no permanents left in play, or Hellkite Igniter, affectionately termed Instakill Dragon, is tapped to attack someone for 97. Slobad himself is more an enabler than a win condition.
- Controlling twelve Caged Suns set to red.
- Controlling twenty Sol Rings.
- Reiterating a Mana Geyser on the stack infinitely.
Well, now that you have all this mana, what do you do with it? You cast lethal X-spells. I include Comet Storm, Devil's Play, and Molten Disaster in my list. If your metagame is heavier on countermagic, try Banefire.
If your opponents have problem permanents that prevent this from happening, you can instead try removing all of them. Get a Mycosynth Lattice into play, then Shattering Pulse or Reiterate Into the Core targeting everything you don't like.
However, if you're a red zone kind of person, it's okay! Fetch out your Instakill Dragon, pump twice, and it's probably lethal. And he even has haste.
If your playgroup doesn't mind, you can try including a Grafted Exoskeleton in the deck and attaching it to Bosh, Iron Golem. Toss a few chunky artifacts at someone's face and they're down for the count.
Interesting Card Interactions
With Nim Deathmantle in play, sacrificing Hoarding Dragon to something allows you to tutor for an artifact for 4.
If you need an artifact on the board, using Citanul Flute to search for Shimmer Myr will allow you to flash it in without much warning.
Chandra Ablaze's best use is hand disruption on an overzealous black or blue opponent. The +1 and -7 are usually far less relevant.

I'm a DCI Rules Advisor, and I generally play only EDH/Commander, Legacy, and Limited. I started playing during the original Mirrodin block. I generally top-4 local events and occasionally attend larger tournaments like SCG Opens. I'm working on my Level 1 Judge certification and attending University for a Bachelor's in Computer Science.
I actually quite liked Game Wave and wouldn't mind seeing it again (in an enforced multicolor set where casting it takes commitment)
this is my starting list (it is bad)
4 urza's power plant
4 urza's mine
5 island
4 swamp
2 seat of the synod
1 vault of whispers
4 prophetic prism

3 mulldrifter
2 errant ephemeron
2 trinket mage
2 ulamog's crusher

So how do you win the game?
When I win, generally there is a lethal burn spell on the stack, or my opponents have no permanents left in play, or Hellkite Igniter, affectionately termed Instakill Dragon, is tapped to attack someone for 97. Slobad himself is more an enabler than a win condition.
Here's how it works:
Prototype Portal, Mirrorworks, Caged Sun, Mana Geyser, and Reiterate combine with some other nonsense to grant huge mana advantage. Vast quantities of mana fuel this deck's win conditions. Notable board states:
- Controlling twelve Caged Suns set to red.
- Controlling twenty Sol Rings.
- Reiterating a Mana Geyser on the stack infinitely.
Well, now that you have all this mana, what do you do with it? You cast lethal X-spells. I include Comet Storm, Devil's Play, and Molten Disaster in my list. If your metagame is heavier on countermagic, try Banefire.

If you need an artifact on the board, using Citanul Flute to search for Shimmer Myr will allow you to flash it in without much warning.
Be aware of all the effects Dragonstorm has access to. A tutor (Hoarding Dragon), a way to reload your hand (Knollspine Dragon), a way to deal with tokens (Steel Hellkite), and Instakill Dragon.
Chandra Ablaze's best use is hand disruption on an overzealous black or blue opponent. The +1 and -7 are usually far less relevant.
