If I understand the Monarch mechanic correctly, it is possible to remove the monarch from game by non-combat means, removing the mechanic. Mill, burn, Door to Nothingness
If the Monarch loses or leaves the game, the active player becomes the Monarch. If the Monarch loses or leaves the game on their own turn, the next player in turn order becomes the Monarch.
I've made a deck inspired by primer. It's along the same lines as yours, but I've noticed that you have very little stax in yours. Is there any particular reason for this?
I don't use stax because:
Equipment are expensive. Don't want to mana-screw myself.
Most stax cards require too much set up for my liking to benefit from them.
Another set, another pile of nothing. None of the cards in Fate Reforged I felt were usable in 8.5. The White cards don't have anything worthwhile and the only Equipment in the set is very subpar. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is a cool card, but I don't want to have another expensive card that may get stuck in my hand.
No other additions either. Commander games have been scarce since the holidays. Haven't got the chance to properly try out some cards.
