Flicking cards. It's like a nervous fidget/ tick of a cardboard addict.
If only we had a card that could Stop That...
Ok snarkiness aside, I have been waiting to play this card in Constructed since it came out. Before that, I never noticed that tick of players because none of my high school friends did it. (I guess we were just too relaxed playing kitchen table Magic.) This card has serious potential, way better than Raven's Crime, it's even instant speed!!
Here's hoping Duel Commander allows silver-bordered in the near future too! -

In the same vein, I'd also pick Villagers of Estwald. The best horror is the kind that lurks, waiting for you.Posted in: Articles
I like many of the arts chosen, but I think the flavortext is a crucial piece that can magnify horror.
Bonus: Favorite Rakdos horror is Showstopper. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
My question is, does Fellwar Stone still tap for other colors than black?
My first guess is yes since the the lands themselves still have the ability to add those colors. The replacement effect from Infernal Darkness doesn’t remove the lands ability to attempt to add other colors. Additionally, I believe Contamination would also follow whatever the ruling is. Thank you for your time.
Question is: What happens when there are multiple copies of Keranos?
Your opponent casts Misdirection changing the target to his or her creature instead.
Misdirection resolves.
Double Cleave resolves.
What happens to the Double Cleave?
Fun aggro deck with good late game potential.
Honestly, I think this is the spirit of what I am looking for. I don’t know if ‘weak to wrath’ is exactly the right choice but definitely something along those lines. Depala is weak to mass artifact hate, a voltron deck is weak to sac effects. Perhaps colors that don’t ramp well. That sorta thing. Thanks everyone for all the great input.
I know right! I’m super stoked to see the mechanic return in a core set.
MrRHardy- Ayula, Queen Among Bears is a great commander for this purpose.
Sephon19- a ‘block-only’ deck is a fun restriction, but I find few people who want to play that way. For instance, a Ravinca deck vs an Innistrad deck. Also, I did this once with Yahenni, Undying Partisan, but the itch to tune it up to a full on MBC outside Kaladesh was too great to resist.
Yandere Sliver- I definitely love these type of decks. I actually already have an enchantress/voltron style Ruhan of the Fomori deck that only plays political cards and enchantments that work on Ruhan and ‘allies’. Like the Vow cycle. This is definitely a 6-7 deck, but sadly its terrible when anyone else plays a group hug syle deck. I like Xantcha, Sleeper Agent as a reverse of this deck type, kind of like a curse deck.
Weltkrieg- mono white is usually my jam for 60-card, but its rough in commander. Actually, I’m pretty sure I want to be 2-color. Color pairs are flexible but still focused.
FoxOfWar- Athreos is way too good as a Shadowborn Apostle deck. Arjun is amazing. I just wish it had a lower cmc. I also want to avoid a ‘fragile’ deck. I want to relaibly know that the deck will work everytime I sit down.
Pokken- Atraxa is definitely top tier and Queen Marchesa is probably up there too. Brion Stoutarm could fit the bill, but I have no idea how to build that deck.
Darrenhabib- I saw Firesong and Sunspeaker on Game Knights and it definitely changed my mind about it. However, I am building Feather too so I don’t have the good Boros cards and lands to spare. Depala is such a different build it doesn’t rob from Feather too much.
Dragonlover, NoNeedToBragoBoutIt, Narvuntien- I used to have a Lazav deck fot just this purpose and I enjoyed it, but my wife hated it since she felt like there was zero interaction when we played. Naturally, she was right.
Thanks for all the input. I’m pretty sure now I plan on 2 color, though underpowered 3 color could still be fair game. Open color pairs would be:
WU, but not control
WB
WG, new tolsmir??
UG, I still like Kaseto
BR, is there anything here thats both mid tier and fun?
RG
Thanks again.
I have a problem. My decks are a little too strong for my meta. I sit down at my LGS with a 7-8 Muldrotha, the Gravetide good stuff deck and communicate this to the other players. They say there decks are about 6-8, but I end up playing Archenemy because their decks are actually 4-5, with filler cards to get to 99. I don’t fault them because this LGS is newer and an ‘old’ commander is from Ixalan.
My problem is I love to tune decks. I want to fully optimize a deck with a balance of synergy and power. I can’t seem to kick the habit. So...
I need a new commander/deck archetype that is mediocre even when fully tuned. Please note, I don’t want to play jank or subpar cards. I want a commander/strategy that will never rise above a 6or 7 max. I do want to have fun with the deck and I want it to ‘work’.
I have looked at a few commanders so far. Let me know what you think of them or if you have any suggestions.
Depala, Pilot Exemplar
Vehicles- card advantage but limited to vehicles/dwarves, good againist sorcery speed board wrath effects.
Kaseto, Orochi Archmage
Voltron- unblockable damage, good color combination for ramp and cards, limited options for ‘going off with the commander’
I was also looking at Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow, but with Modern Horizons, ninjas got a decent upgrade. Still a contender though since its so mana hungry.
Let me know!
I know from the Command Zone episode where Josh joins the CAG he states he is in favor of no changes. He is taking a don’t rock the boat, don’t fix what ain’t broke mentality. He also extends that to the idea of planeswalkers as commanders in that episode. I disagree with his arguments againist them, but for now it seems to be the way it will go for awhile.
These leeches all made your spells more expensive for stats and abilities that are just meh.
The white leech is the worst as it is a 1/3 with no other abilities. If you get it turn one, it will hurt you the rest of the game! And the worst part, it was a rare! Automatic last pick in a draft.
I also like the curse cycle very much. I see it as an inverse to a fist bump deck. Instead of helping one person, you are a parasite on one person. Encouraging others to gang up. Sort of a Death by Dragons style of play. I like commanders like Xantcha, Sleeper Agent and Mathas, Fiend Seeker for this style of deck.
I would love a ranking on all the curse cards for this kind of strategy. Which are best? Which are build around? And which are simply unplayable even in a curse deck?
Oh yeah, Battlebond added some great new cards. The friend or foe cards are a great example of fist bump cards. How would y’all rank them. (I can include a section above for them.)
Haha, I don’t think so. While I have his picture at the top to represent the political nature of the deck, mechanically his card doesn’t fit since the owner of the permanent you destroy gets Starke next. That doesn’t sound like a friend. He seems a better fit for a chaos deck.
