Well, with proliferate in extended/modern and various double-strike enablers in this set, from batallion or Boros Charm, it could be reasonable. I like it. I'd play it.
If I recall the rules correctly, paying the cost is impossible. You can only pay the "Tap" cost if the permanent is untapped and you can only pay the "Untap" cost is the permanent is tapped. When paying a cost for a spell or ability, all parts of it must be paid at once. Partial payments are not allowed.
So yes, I do agree that Fruitcake Elemental and Season's Beatings are the only cards that can actually work under the game rules as they exist. I suppose technically Yule Ooze can work, since there's no rule forbidding the eating of food as part of a cost, although rules clarification might be requires towards defining food and setting a minimum required quantity.
They already defined this with Fat Ass from Unhinged. Read the FAQ for that set. (Gum isn't food.)
You know what would be cool? If Mew had the Eldrazi translucent frame. Mew is just that badass - though technically Psychic-type, Mew has the DNA of everything in it.
All Is Dust would also take care of it - shame it won't be in standard with it. Infect creatures too - indestructible doesn't do much against -1/-1 counters.
I wonder, other than a certain lizard horror, how the number 13 will be used in Innistrad. We have that one hint of MaRo, but there's one thing I'm hoping for.
A card with CMC 13. There is no current card with converted mana cost 13. We have every number between 0-16 represented but it.
Think it could happen? Also, what other uses would there be for 13's in the set?
Star Trek CCG has 3 two-faced cards. Though like the SWCCG Objectives, they're not allowed in a main deck. Spacedoor on a facility, and DS9/Terok Nor, and Mirror Terok Nor (under Alliance or Rebellion control), all of which are seeded, not stocked in draw deck.
WTB "Mutant Turtle"

Apparently only one current card in the game (using current Oracle wordings) would be worthy of the Morbid ability word tag. Osai Vultures.
Wow.
