you guys are totally forgetting the foil card. if the ratio is still the same as other boosters, then the foil really adds value, especially when you take a look at the price of foil gofys, bobs, cliques, etc. even a foil spell snare would be money.
A card with X in it's casting cost will have a cmc where x = 0 except for on the stack. On the stack X = whatever you pay into it and will modify the cmc as such.
In your example the cmc of Green Sun's zenith is 3.
Ruling:
202.3b When calculating the converted mana cost of an object with an {X} in its mana cost, X is
treated as 0 while the object is not on the stack, and X is treated as the number chosen for it
while the object is on the stack
302.6. A creature's activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can't be activated unless the creature has been under its controller's control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. A creature can't attack unless it has been under its controller's control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the "summoning sickness" rule.
Your elf cannot untap a forest. Your bee can block. The bee's ability can be activated.
Building this deck because it looks cool and I'm on a budget for modern.
What do you guys think of a trinket mage package either main or sideboard?
We have access to a lot of good artifacts. (nihil spellbomb, Engineered Explosives, Chalice of the Void, grafdigger?,brittle effigy?)
Buried Ruin is pretty good, but what do you think of Academy Ruins? You can even mindslaver lock someone if you have the combo out. I picked up an academy ruin and Tolaria West today to try out in the deck.
Dimir Charm
Doesn't quite work that way.
There's a foil in every pack... No?
Reread farseek. It doesn't say basic land. Just Island, Swamp, Mountain or Plains. Shocks fit the bill.
