I am going to laugh when they do a Bolas vs Ugin dual deck and they use the alt art for the foil Ugin. It is crazy people are paying that much and know that Wizards will cash in on a dual deck with two elder dragons.
So seeing as Khans is going to be a time travel block I wonder if we will maybe see an old walker or two from Magice's past in the set that takes place in the past.
it just happened to me. I bought 5 packs and three of the five were double rare/mythic. so I decided to buy 5 more packs and again three out of five were like that. Then I bought the rest of the box (9) packs and only one was not like that. So in 19 packs I pulled 14 had two rare/mythic in them.
Has anyone thought it could be a cycle like River of Tears? A cycle of lands like that would be harder to run a 3rd color as you have to play a land to turn on the other color and it turns off the other color plus it only works for one turn.
Anyone know of a place that has high res art for guild symbols? I am wanting to do something but am having problems finding a high res image for any of the guilds.
why are they just tossing can't be countered on rares all of a sudden? looks like they absolutely don't want people running counterspells for the next year or two.
unless of course if they get sneaky and do something like mindbreak trap and print an exiling "counterspell".
I was thinking the same thing but if they do a exile type counter I would bet that it is in the 4cmc range.
I see a few comments of people wanting/thinking it's possible they'd put FOW in this set. I don't understand why anyone thinks that is even a possibility. Do people even play Force of Will in EDH? I've never seen anyone play it.
I see a lot of people play FOW at the shop i play at. Sometimes you need that free counter to stop a combo from going off or to get yours going.
I had a very similar deck at one point and the only thing I see wrong is... yeah, you have only 2 restoration angels? Any deck with white should be running 4 of those babes. I'd drop a Thragtusk and a single Strangleroot to make room. Easy decision.
My original build had a 3rd but I could not find a 3rd copy before the event and Star City only had the release promo ones for sale on site.
Holding out in the hopes that Sigarda and Gisela will be playable in some form post-rotation.
Everything about Sigarda screams great card. She just can't see play alongside stuff like Prime titan.
I ran 2 Sigardas this past weekend at Star City open in St. Louis and she owned every game. I ran a G/W blink/hex proof build and ended up 47th out of around 420 people. I didnt even run Prime Titan in my build.
3x Birds of Paradise
4x Thragtusk
4x Strangleroot Geist
2x Restoration Angel
2x Sigarda
2x Thrun
3x Blade Splicer
4x Rancor
3x Sword of War and Peace
4x Cloudshift
2x Green Sun
4x Rampant Growth
7x Forest
4x Sunpetal Grove
3x Plains
2x Gavony Township
3x Razorverge Thicket
4x Cavern of Souls
Only thing I would change after running it this weekend would be to take out one Thragtusk and put in another Restoration Angel.
How was Thundermaw Hellkite at SCGSTL? I know it's only going to get better after rotation.
I played all 10 rounds and only saw one all day. My opponent played one only in defense to my Sigarda that was in play. He did not swing because it would have only put me at 10 and he would be dead if I was able to get in with the 5. Then I dropped Sword of War and Peace and he scooped.
Weird top8. I thought Adam Prosak was a regular U / W Delver with Talrand until I saw the list. Thus we have 0 UW Delver in the top8 and 4 Delver of secrets total. Hope it is not a fluke.
I am a little bit disappointed that none of the green decks had tried Yeva, not even the Monogreen one. I feel the card deserves some slots over even Huntmaster of the fells. Thragtusk, however, passed the test and it looks that he has become a staple MD card.
Thrun is just better right now than Yeva. The ability to regenerate and hexproof is just better than being able to flash in guys imo. after rotation she might be a good choice.
Yeah, I'm guessing most of the UG Talrand lists bombed out because they are Mr. Bogus. Dryad dies to gut shots, vapor snags and having to block
On a serious note, Talrand is the real deal. I am not sure if any of the other Delver decks there had him in their lists.. I am also not sure if any of them did any playtesting??
I only faced one Delver deck and that was an Esper Delver build. Watching many other games I did not see any decks running Talrand. On a side note I did almost run a list close to the one that Prosak ran but I wanted to see what I could do with a G/W blink. For only being my second large event I was happy with 47th.
Also I have 4 4th Edition cards that are misscut and fit together.
Jamie Hewlett does the artwork for Gorillaz.
My friend Chris Simshauser airbrushed this up for me the other day.
Well seeing as an English P3K Loyal Retainers goes for $100 plus I don't know how it would be worth less than $75.
