I don't see any comparison in that article to Gamergate.

"It's about ethics in Commander Rules Committee reform" is a direct shot at how Gamergate used "it's about ethics in video game journalism" as a cover story for unbridled hatred and misogyny. The fact that Gamergate, as a movement, was so utterly vile (I remind you that they felt it necessary to protect "ethics in video game journalism" through harassment, doxing, death threats, and literal terrorist threats) means it's deeply insensitive for the writer to compare detractors of the rules change to it (the connotation is that he feels said detractors simply want to harass people and are using the rules change as pretext) and negligent of SCG's editing staff to let such a thing through.

You honestly should do more research before you spout off information based on misguided or incorrect info.

    boooooooooooooooooo again.

That sucks though. Totally not green. Wastes paper and pencils. Plus, then i actually have to do math instead of just pressing -1 or +1 a couple of times. And it keeps nice neat track of the match time and the number of poison counters. (ya know... just in case.)

Your cell phone is anything but green. The electricity is likely generated from burning hydrocarbons. The rare earth elements for the speakers are mined from deep inside the earth, which also unearths toxic heavy metals. Same goes with that battery your constantly charging. Everything about your electronic devise is anti-green. From it's construction to its daily operation.

Do you write on paper that you throw away after using? If so, don't save it and use it to write on the back. Get yourself a proper eco-friendly writing utensil and enjoy saving the planet.

Also to add on in a way. Playing the game in its physical form is not green ether. If your truly concerned about "being green" kinda cant play the game. The foiling packs, the paper used to make the cards, the ink, the chemicals. There is also reasons your asked to NOT throw out the phones and to recycle them. They themselves contain very nasty toxic material.

And if doing basic math is an issue while playing the game I think you(the people that have this issue) should rethink the what they are doing and learn how to do basic math.

    Loot hotfix!

Legendaries in rifts 100% upped. Blood shards are also getting buffed with this too.

Chest runs and unique runs are also getting nerfed.

The exact post from Travis day:

    Hey all,

A series of hotfixes will be deployed today making more adjustments to overall reward structures within the game.

I wanted to take a minute to explain the reasons for the changes that we are making. A driving goal of our design has been to make killing monsters feel rewarding, we want you all to find tons of cool items that you are excited about but more importantly we want you to have fun while doing it.

Rifts have always been intended to be the most efficient play method in the game, currently they aren’t for a number of reasons. Part of this has to do with the high level of efficiency in farming that players find doing things like farming Manglemaw, Razorclaw and any other number of unique monsters. Another contributing element is that farming chests without having to actually fight monsters is far more effective than actually fighting the monsters. It is very important to us that chests are exciting to find and feel rewarding but presently they are far too common and reliable to farm in certain areas of the game.

Finally Kadala, she has always been intended to give players some degree of control over their item upgrades. While we don’t want players to simply pick and choose from a list of items at an excessively high cost, we do want you to have an answer to the question “How do I upgrade my boots?” Kadala is meant to be that answer, she is meant to give you some direct control over the types of items you find. Since we are increasing the overall reward structure of the game she is also going to be increasing but by a larger amount than the rest of the changes since she didn't feel rewarding enough to us.

Without further delay here is a list of the changes that will be coming in the hotfix.

    The Bad!
Unique monsters now drop less items.
*Uniques were dropping far more loot than their difficulty would warrant.

Chest spawns have been thinned out across all acts of the game.
*Ideally chests become less common and something that players can’t flip games to farm. It is our goal to make them feel exciting and rewarding when you find them.

    The Good!
The bonus legendary drop rate for rifts is being increased from 25% to 100%!
*This means that while in a rift your chance to find a legendary item from monsters, chests, elites, and everything else is double what it is outside of rifts. No this does not mean opening bounty bags in rifts is the new hotness. ;P

Kadala’s legendary drop rate has been significantly increased.
*Blood Shards are meant to be a compelling element of rift rewards and something players are excited to get.

Loot is an incredibly important aspect of Diablo games and we will continue to keep a very close eye on it. If more problems arise we will continue striving to address them. It isn’t our goal to take loot away from people, we just want to make sure they are having as much fun as possible while finding it and these changes all support that goal.

Good hunting and link the loot!

really liking how they made better loot drops in Reaper of Souls

just out of curiosity, I have a level 41 barbarian, how high should my damage be?

depends on what your playing on? Normal? Master? Torment?

I'm playing on normal, the expansion act

As a guide line There is a bunch of factors that come into play with damage.

You have the actually DPS sheet damage and the what could be damage.
Using Elemental + skill damage increases will not increase sheet damage numbers.

An example is my buffed wizard at 70 has 900K dps. BUT she also has passive that adds to it and equipment that adds cold skills damage. So my real numbers are much higher.

If your only picking 2 of the 3 Major increases (that being Atk speed, Crit hit, crit chance) Crit hit and chance give you much more dps then atk speed. BUT there is some negatives to this. The slower you attack the less damage you could be doing. Some skills take speed into account more so. Like hydra and Sentry. Barb would be more on the slow end.

When I was getting my characters up before ros I had my monk at 50K damage doing Torment 4. I really wouldn't be worrying about dps till 60 cause that's when youll start feeling the issues. Don't be afraid to craft gear and mystic some of it to get desired results.

I so far can melt T1 easily. BUT.. Adria... Ughhhhh I Love the way the fight starts and is BUT she is a tanky sucker. And Even though I can melt Act I-IV bosses Act V just wont die easly and Malthael is god damn fast.

Anyone that's in the group can shoot me a friend request and join in my games as long as you can be decent on damage.

So far buffed and paragoned my DPS is 830,000 and my toughness is 6.5 mill+

Adventure Mode is sweet. You can make a party of four, play at Normal difficulty, split up the Acts, then open up your five Horadric Stashes at Torment 6 for ridiculous loot. Rinse, repeat.

Actually the loot inside is already determined when its given. Its just not binded(ex legendary items)

Wonder if one day this week a bunch of us want to hammer on adventure mode?
I'll make a post about it in the community group.

Also wonder if a mod would mind if I start a new thread so I can get Op on the thread so I can list up the battle.net tags for people and what ever info people would like posted all in one easy to read place.

got ROS this morning. I got the digital standard. I wanted to get the physical CE so i can match it with my original D3 CE, but meh. my money says "nope". :p

I created a Crusader and toyed with it for a couple levels. I think I'd like playing it over the Barb as my ground and pound character.

Then I started Act V with my Wiz. Got her up to the town checkpoint. And that's where I left off.

How far away am I until I get the new NPC? the Mystic or whatever.

She is before the first major boss. When you go out of town and start looking for things you'll be getting her.
She is very easy to level up to full.

Currently trying to farm bounties with the wife but we basically now ran out of time as she is in hell month of school tests and Clinical duty. So her next major attempt to play is sadly in the end of April.

So far The Wife and I have downed 2 bosses (taking our time) and then I had to stop do to me having to sleep before work. The Music, the atmosphere, the changes, and feel of the game feel soooooo much better. For an area that doesn't look like its long it feels a lot longer then expected. But granted we are 2 people that like to explore and not do the same 2 min run over and over again.

No way. Either A. the DiabloFans post is dead wrong, or B. crafting materials dropping with a low drop rate off RARE mobs and events means Blizzard has truly lost their mind.

Those materials are for Legendary items. OF COURSE its gonna be hard to get. I prefer it be hard to get if it means good stats. Cant just easly get gear anymore via other means. AH is done and gone (thank god) and crafting is now worth wild while not being the best. From what I seen Legendary drops > Crafted Legendary > Reg crafting.
