ProfessorWhen posted a message on Christine Sprankle and Harassment in the MTG CommunitySo the trick is to not post in this thread, then? Looking at the other thread it seems like everyone not condemning the guy was given a warning for trolling. This is really poor conduct by the mods.Posted in: Magic General -

Prices were wacky. $1-2 duals, $6 serpent generator and $4 blue mana battery, $12 Elder Dragons and Lord of the Pit.
Arabian Nights and Legends packs for sale, although even back then the transluscent packs were a thing so they never took off. -

Sene posted a message on 40+ subforums is ridiculous and unnecessaryI think OP does have a point. It might be more organized to have more subforums, but you're also in danger of spreading activity too thin. It's not necessarily the case that we have too many subs in the "The Game" category specifically, but I do think we definitely have too many in other areas of MTGS (I'm looking at you, Entertainment), and I wouldn't be dismissive of the suggestion that we have too many in "The Game" also.Posted in: Community Discussion -

Dio posted a message on RE: Zach Jesse getting banned and being a "convicted rapist"You clearly don't know what a plea bargain is. That IS what Zach Jesse accepted, instead of going to trial and risking getting a longer sentence. Courts are overburdened with cases so defenders and prosecutors usually work out lighter sentences, so that a bunch of time isn't "wasted" going to trial. I suggest reading this:Posted in: Magic General
https://news.usc.edu/61662/why-innocent-people-plead-guilty/
MANY people accept plea bargains, it's just the way the current criminal justice system works:
http://www.scpr.org/blogs/news/2012/06/13/6603/plea-bargainings-innocence-problem/
Over 50% of the people in the study said they would accept a plea bargain even if they were innocent.
Not to mention it's what the victim wanted. She didn't want him to be "buried in jail". Now, I'm not necessarily saying Zach Jesse is innocent, but it's very possible that he was. Prosecutors always treat each defendant as if they're guilty.
Zach Jesse served his time for a crime he may or may have not committed, but that is not the point. He is NOT a convicted rapist, but he would be if this had gone to trial and the prosecutor proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he committed this crime.
This ban is ridiculous, and it's all because LSV and Drew Levin formed a lynch mob on twitter. Not to mention this sets a serious precedent, do we start doing background checks on all players, then ban them if they have a criminal history? Even Sheldon Menery stated that he would "be happy to hang the guy". Does that sound professional, coming from a judge emeritus? -

Teia Rabishu posted a message on Zach Jesse banned until 2049Unfortunately, this is just the idea of retributive justice at work. It's the idea that the primary goal should be to punish offenders, not rehabilitate them. So even after they serve their time, society will continue to punish them, to ostracize them, to make them suffer for life. It's why recidivism rates are so unbelievably high, frankly. Someone offends, gets out, then finds themself discriminated against in employment, housing, etc (though in this case it seems he's avoided that much, at least, but he's one of the lucky ones), and even ostracized from their hobbies. Then we all act like it's their fault when they get pushed so hard into a corner that the only thing they can do is lash out.Posted in: Magic General
As I said above, Zach Jesse was one of the lucky ones. He pieced together a solid life and was overall on the best of behaviour, and now he's being punished... why, exactly? Because of some notion that "once a criminal, always a criminal"? There are a lot of things I've been disappointed with Wizards about before, but this is one of the most absolutely indefensibly stupid, thoughtless, and short-sighted things I've seen from them. Whoever made this decision needs to get a clue, because they don't even have the beginnings of one. -

Teia Rabishu posted a message on Design Mistakes From The Early Days of Magic..... Should these upkeep costs be honored in Commander and other casual formats? The thing about those kinds of costs is that they're designed for flavour, rather than mechanics, and that's okay because not everything is about power level and not every player appreciates cards simply for how strong they are. Sacrifice a creature to the demon you summoned, or he takes part of your life force (this is also basically why Juzam and friends take your life too). Continually pay mana to keep the force of nature under control, or it goes out of control and damages you. To keep the hydra with an adequate number of heads, you've gotta use your mana to keep them from being destroyed. And so on and so forth. If you take those upkeep costs away, the cards become much less flavourful and much less memorable (a generic 7/7 flying trample for 4BBB is utterly forgettable, but "sacrifice a dude or he takes it out of your hide" has some fantasy gravitas behind it). I wouldn't want to ignore upkeep costs just because I felt a card was too weak, both because it removes something from the game if you do that, and because the lines drawn there are utterly arbitrary and attempting to define some isn't worth pursuing.Posted in: Magic General -

You honestly should do more research before you spout off information based on misguided or incorrect info.

Also to add on in a way. Playing the game in its physical form is not green ether. If your truly concerned about "being green" kinda cant play the game. The foiling packs, the paper used to make the cards, the ink, the chemicals. There is also reasons your asked to NOT throw out the phones and to recycle them. They themselves contain very nasty toxic material.
And if doing basic math is an issue while playing the game I think you(the people that have this issue) should rethink the what they are doing and learn how to do basic math.

As a guide line There is a bunch of factors that come into play with damage.
You have the actually DPS sheet damage and the what could be damage.
Using Elemental + skill damage increases will not increase sheet damage numbers.
An example is my buffed wizard at 70 has 900K dps. BUT she also has passive that adds to it and equipment that adds cold skills damage. So my real numbers are much higher.
If your only picking 2 of the 3 Major increases (that being Atk speed, Crit hit, crit chance) Crit hit and chance give you much more dps then atk speed. BUT there is some negatives to this. The slower you attack the less damage you could be doing. Some skills take speed into account more so. Like hydra and Sentry. Barb would be more on the slow end.
When I was getting my characters up before ros I had my monk at 50K damage doing Torment 4. I really wouldn't be worrying about dps till 60 cause that's when youll start feeling the issues. Don't be afraid to craft gear and mystic some of it to get desired results.

I so far can melt T1 easily. BUT.. Adria... Ughhhhh I Love the way the fight starts and is BUT she is a tanky sucker. And Even though I can melt Act I-IV bosses Act V just wont die easly and Malthael is god damn fast.
Anyone that's in the group can shoot me a friend request and join in my games as long as you can be decent on damage.
So far buffed and paragoned my DPS is 830,000 and my toughness is 6.5 mill+

Actually the loot inside is already determined when its given. Its just not binded(ex legendary items)
Wonder if one day this week a bunch of us want to hammer on adventure mode?
I'll make a post about it in the community group.
Also wonder if a mod would mind if I start a new thread so I can get Op on the thread so I can list up the battle.net tags for people and what ever info people would like posted all in one easy to read place.

She is before the first major boss. When you go out of town and start looking for things you'll be getting her.
She is very easy to level up to full.
Currently trying to farm bounties with the wife but we basically now ran out of time as she is in hell month of school tests and Clinical duty. So her next major attempt to play is sadly in the end of April.

Those materials are for Legendary items. OF COURSE its gonna be hard to get. I prefer it be hard to get if it means good stats. Cant just easly get gear anymore via other means. AH is done and gone (thank god) and crafting is now worth wild while not being the best. From what I seen Legendary drops > Crafted Legendary > Reg crafting.
