Yah, I got Ugin, and it also had an Aniok Tracker and a forest. On another note, my venue had a small 8 person pre-release and 3 of us got Ugin out of the 8 packs.
edit: and my Ugin is a German one, so the second ability is misprinted to exile x or higher. lol
The only thing I'm missing that I'm wanting to add to the deck is a singleton Nylea, God of the Hunt. The Perilous Vault might look weird on the list, but it has been fantastic for me, and saved my rear several times.
My biggest issue in the tournament was having trouble dealing with Blood Baron of Vizkopa that a GWB Junk deck was running when I didn't have green creatures out. Mono Black was also a bad match-up for me. The 1st place going into top 8 was a MBD, and I beat it 2-1 getting me to the finals, the top guy was running the GWB junk and beat me 2-1 in three very close games with me mulling to 5 in one of them.
The Doomwake Giant did almost nothing for me the entire time too, it was just a fatty on the board. Its ability either wasn't relevant, I didn't have multiple enchantments to play, or I didn't have the mana to dump out multiple enchantments to kill anything or push things through. I'll be taking it and the sideboard Extinguish all Hope out of the deck and playtesting an Arbor Colossus mainboard, and one sideboard.
The card draw from the Eidolon of Blossoms and Underworld Connectionswas huge in helping me dig towards answers and allowed me to just overwhelm opponents. Also the singleton Primeval Bounty helped me to stabilize and win a game many times, one felt like a very good number for this.
Why don't they just hold the tournament on the border of France or something? Germany really isn't that big, all the Germans can drive or take a bus to the event and win cash prizes.
I think if you play standard its a mental health requirement to play EDH, sealed, and draft just to get a break from the same 3 decks. Casuals are nice too. A lot of people here usually bust out the home-brews for casuals since the pressure is off from the usual FNM scene.
Meh, most of the people at the FNM I go to are cool and play home-brew variants of whatever decks are there. They are fun to play against, then there are the fat pasty guys who get off on running non-interactive primeval titan decks for the win because they don't get enough love at home.
>Run 16 land
>Get mana screwed
>Claim to be superior after losing
I know this type very well. I find it incredibly funny that he's trying to talk about what number of land to run when he just got mana screwed. I don't know if that fits into irony or just plain stupidity.
lol, I run 18 lands and still get mana screwed in limited.
you use that word but i don't think you know what it means..
honestly though, i don't think the jace thing would have made that much of a difference. the real problem is u/w's lack of artifact removal considering that you already got lux cannon/proliferate online.
Yah I know, most people don't know what the word means.
A fire extinguisher causing a fire is ironic, his example is not.
