I love unsummon. But not in this deck. Up your azorious charms to 4 if you feel you really need bounces.

Do you really need so much burn in the main deck? It's a lot of removal, sure, but you have low threat density even for a control deck. i'd drop the pillars to sideboard unless you're playing a lot of zombies.

I don't know what your SB looks like, but counterflux can be pretty decent in the control matchup, consider that for the sideboard.

I'd up the lands a little. 24 at the very least. You want games to go long, and to be able to chain sphinxes and bury them in Card advantage.

I just about lost it at this.

Probably the funniest alter I have seen in a long time.

For those who are not familiar.

First and only mat I've ever owned. I was my favorite card when it came out.

I have this same mat! I have put it through so much use. It is about to have to hang up the towel, however, the corners are peeling up.

guys i am searching for a competitive modern deck and already having resto angel, snapcasters, geists, and blue cards,so you suggested me to go for this one. I built it and tried it, but, it's so slow! how do you play this? i usually take lots of damages in first turns.

Wall of omens is a good, cheap choice if you are taking a lot of damage early.

It nets you a card, soaks damage, and can net you more cards with angel.

Well to be honest That Is what this deck is already basically. Delver and lynx are not so consistent so you are trading speed for power and consistency wich isn't a bad thing. Helix and pyro clams are the absolute best cards to survive to the late game against many decks in the field. I think the third color is better than tec edge, who are you edging out no one is playing 5 drops and they are to slow for tron a basically unwinnable match up. Man lands can be problematic some times but it probably won't come up often, this deck has plenty of gass. I don't like this deck in its usual form. Either go more tempo or more control not clunky mid range.

The Red opens up soo many cool cards like Izzet charm Electrolyse and Desolate Light House (awesome control land) I have been enjoying those in a budget version of this deck (no St. Traft or Click) 3x path/ Bolt/ Helix and 2 Augur of Bolas who has been great in this deck.

I disagree. While we do give up speed for power, the diffrence red makes doesn't nessicarily up your speed, while watering down your down your deck a bit. It offers you versatility, but it can make your consistancy drop a remarkable amount.
Feel free to share your testing experience, as i'm all for more testing, But I found it to not be worth the splash.

Also, i've literally never had the deck feel clunky. What makes it that way for you? What lists were you running?

@blad01 Meddling mage is a perfectly fine sideboard card. The only problem is that it is really easy to kill.

Has someone tried to add a steam vents and a moutain (and few more fetches) to improve affinity / UWR Delver matchups which, I think, are our worst matchups?
Some lightning bolt (or izzet charms) completing few pyroclasms in side could change these matchups whithout killing our manabase.
I'm interested by your opinion on this idea. Thanks

Tested out a red splash a while back. It wasn't bad, per se. It opens up a lot of possibilities, And the maindeck is flexible enough to support it.
However, I felt often times like I was just trying to be UWR delver, without delver.

He also has said Remand is too high on the power scale to come back as well.

Well, Thats insanely dissapointing. I was kind of hoping for a remand reprint.

Not like a huge hope, but a "That would be really nice" type thing.

The art for Pucas Mischief has always bothered me.
It seems like it is supposed to be almost be a surreal piece.

I do the double-tap on the table and say "Passing turn", Normally.
People seem to catch on to the tapping on the table really quick, Which I like. Less confusion.

I'd agree about the old packs, but the new ones smell nice too. I love the smell of fresh cards. They should make an air freshener shaped like a magic card to give off that smell.

    Crack a pack.
Punch holes in the tops of the cards.
    Hand them in your car.
    BAM,
    HIRE ME WIZARDS.

Hi. I've been going through years of pages from this thread, and I am trying to teach myself how to do this. I have been getting very frustrated at the results.

I have been getting thin base coats, but once I try to start blending it falls apart. It just looks like color A is on top of color B.

Also my color matching is terrible, but I guess that comes with experience.

My main question, though, is actually *how* to physically paint--from putting the paint on the palette, to painting the card, etc. The only tutorial videos that I found that really show this are Cardkitty's, but there it looks like they just use regular heavy body paints on the top of the palette, and use the cups for the mixing. Mostly everyone on here advises against using heavy body paints, though. So:

Do you pour the paint in the cups and thin each color with water beforehand?

or do you add water from the brush? Does this wear the brush out? If you use a knife, how do you do it?

Color matching is something that you just have to get a lot of practice in for it to click sometimes. Eventually you'll have a pretty intuitive sense of what makes what.

My advice is to just work slowly and focus- Rushing really can mess you up. Work on small sections at a time. While that is drying, move to another, then go back while that section is drying, etc.
As for heavy body vs fluid, It is really a personal preference thing. I'd reccomend at least trying both out.

You really shouldn't need a palate knife, tbh. Just water each color down to fit your needs, when you need it.

  • posted a message on What is the point of a playmat?
I like playmats for various reasons.
    1) I don't have to lay my arm on a table that is cold, sticky, or anything like that. I have my nice smooth comfy playmat to rest my arms on.
    2) As others have said, it sections off a portion of the table that is "yours". It is nice to not have people encroaching upon it.
    3) Mine has the knight exemplar art on it, and I am a huge fan of jason chans art.

How was your demonstration supposed to clarify the rule to them?

Use his ability, find a forrest, use that forrest to activate his ability, etc etc

Do this for an incredibly long time.

Actually don't like dragonshields as much with perfect fit as kmc matte sleeves. Dragonshields are noticeably bulkier with the double sleeves than kmc.

Agreed. They can be really obstinate when it comes to shuffling. Very rigid.

Not the perfect picture, but in the white sleeves is my legacy deck that is double sleeved, And in the red is my standard, without the second sleeve.
Both piles are exactly 60 cards.
