Apr 1, 2019For a few weeks, I've been running a deck where I converted my Ayli to Teysa 3.0 - link here - but I'm back to Ayli now. Teysa was a great learning experience, but I just love the synergy/combo and recursion in Ayli.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
EDIT: I just saw Kaya’s Ghostform. Sweet. Could perhaps replace Angelic Renewal?

Jan 24, 2019About Academy Rector: I'm not sure whether Kelzam is running it, but I decided against it, as it's a high-profile card that paints an unnecessary target on me. I also very much like the low cmc of my other tutors (Vampiric, Demonic, Enlightened, Imperial Seal). I know: I'm also running creature tutors that are 5CMC+ (Sidisi, Recruiter, Rune-Scarred, and Razaketh) - but I feel they're just a bit more impactful than Academy Rector. You made a very good point about Razaketh, however: I'm trying without him for a while.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Dawn of the dead and Debtor's Knell are a bit too slow for me. They do nothing until my next turn, and draw unneeded attention. (you said it well: we 'turtle' - and try to look unthreatening Palpatine-like).
Play report from yesterday:
Once again, my Yosei proved a major griever, but, unfortunately for me, this time, from an opponent who cast it from my library (with Villainous Wealth) and locked ME out of the game (with reanimation backup). :-(
Ravnica Allegiance update:
I'm so stoked for new Teysa, I'm considering converting my list back to Teysa, Orzhov Scion (how it started many, many years ago during BlackJack's era) and adding Teysa 3.0: DeatHarmonicon FTW!

I know it's not the very best - when compared to Necropotence, for example, but I like to have enough carddraw and tutors in the deck. This will be replaced in a heartbeat when something better comes along, but for now...
Exsanguinate vs Debt to the Deathless
Thanks for this maths - I will be going for Exsanguinate instead of Debt to the Deathless now
Mox Amber and Mox Diamond are doing a lot of work for me, often getting out Ayli T1. Removed Mana Crypt, and happy about it! Land Tax is good! It smooths out landdrops every turn, fills up your hand, so enables eot discarding (for reanimation), and works like Ancestral Recall when you happen to have a Scroll Rack out.
Below: a pic of my actual deck - organized by land, mana-accelaeration, tutors, card draw, recursion, removal, sweepers, sacrifice-outlets, wincons, and various.
Dec 19, 2018I’m torn between Debt to the Deathless, and Exsanguinate, which is way easier to cast. Sometimes they serve not as a finisher, but only to keep me alive for one more turn. Or, to put me above 50 life, and enable Ayli’s vindicate ability. (Rare, but it does happen)Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Dec 18, 2018@Daanzel & MrRHardy: I tried Morbid Curiosity for a while, for a similar effect as Disciple of Bolas, but ultimately Promise of Power proved better imho. You could even sacrifice the demon token to Ayli for some life.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Dec 17, 2018Things I stumbled upon while re-evaluating each card:Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
- I like Kokusho, the Evening Star better than I thought, even though he’s fighting for his slot with Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Currently running both. Foil
- I’m testing Krav, the Unredeemed - though not in the Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter slot, he’s been gone longtime. Not 100% happy with Krav atm, though. Hoping for something stellar from Ravnica Allegiance.
- Turns out: both Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and Recruiter of the Guard are soldiers, and can be sacced to Knight-Captain of Eos to save our hide.

Creature - Giant Beeble
Protection from Red
Beeble Colossus's base power and toughness are equal to the number of artifacts and enchantments on the battlefield.
2UU: Beeble Colossus gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is its power.
Once it arrived, morale crumbled and the army broke, fearing for their lives.
Why did I hit you? Because of your stupid face.
Nov 26, 2018Hi Antoine,Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Your deck looks great! I'd personally add 1 or 2 extra lands, as I found out that, though Ayli costs a mere BW, this deck sometimes can be quite mana-hungry, and it lacks the ramp of G.
I'd recommend caution with the Altar of Dementia: often opponents assume infinite combos (maybe from experiencing Teysa, Orzhov Scion) and try to exile it, even when it's just a sac-outlet (*cough* Reveillark *cough* Karmic Guide). Also: milling opponents enables their recursion/reanimation.
Also: Yosei is a major griever. Expect to draw hate.

Enters the battlefield tapped. Doesn't untap during its controller's untap step.
T: Add B or R.
Sacrifice a creature: untap Rakdos Circus Ring.

Nov 17, 2018Anyone making changes with cards from the new Ravnica set? I’m waiting for the 2019 Ravnica set. Patience must be a defining trait for the subjects of the Church of Orzhov. (that’s what I’m telling myself :-))Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists

Creature - Dinosaur
Sacrifice this: Your opponents can't cast spells this turn.
(Spells cast before this resolves are unaffected.)
The beast bellowed and then silence.
"Ooh! Suits you, Sir!"
