I'm going to try straight uwr with 4 bonfires. Most of my wins are coming from Jace mill. Red burn can help us deal with opposing plansewalkers as well.
Not to mention 1-2 assemble the legion as another win-con.
I am frequently getting the app-store relocating ad for candy crush on my phone, both here and tcgplayer. I thought it might be malware so I googled it and found http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/chrome/EDJTbPaW5dg which suggests it is a cookie based ad from CPMFun. This is really bad UX.
I saw the daily result recently and was intrigued. I definitely agree with the dimir charm suggestion, and I'm going to try 3. I also have dropped Nicol Bolas and the chromatic lanterns in favor of 26 land, but I might try him later. I really like the deck so I'll fiddle with it for a while.
EDIT: and i just noticed Celestial Purge says "Permanant" i think this warrants a 4 of in the sideboard for Valakut!!!!(sorry i am exicted but i always thought it said creature)
I really don't think Celestial Purge does anything against Valakut, considering they hardly play any red permanents aside from Urabrask, the Hidden and sometimes Inferno Titan. Valakut itself is a land, and therefore colorless.
I've been playing U/B control, but I decided I wanted to play Timely Reinforcements so I would stop losing to RDW and I didn't want to play Caw-Blade and I love Garruk, Primal Hunter so I made a G/W control deck. Currently testing, I've beaten RDW, Vampires, and Mono-Black Aggro (with obliterators). I have yet to play any other decks. I originally had Ancient Stirrings to compliment my 4 Spellskite, swords, and Wurmcoil Engine as my finisher, along with my sideboarded cards (used to be Wall of Tanglecord) along with the other stuff. I also used Squadron Hawks, but I was underwhelmed with them. Ancient Stirrings was actually awesome, very much like a preordain, allowing me to find some early defense, my swords, or my finishers (I ran two Wurmcoil instead of the Titan), or just make my land drops. However, it occurred to me that you need to run a lot of shuffle effects if you use it, because it sucks when you see some cards you need but you have to put them on the bottom. Overall I like this build more, and I definitely like Skinshifter over the hawks except against RDW. He helps put early aggression on control, and can be a giant wall against aggro, and his downside is mitigated against removal-light opponents (especially Caw because they have few instant answers) and once spellskite is out.
I will probably switch to Sword of War and Peace once I have some extra money.
Just a heads up, but you're in the extended section. It doesn't look like you intend to build in extended deck, because all of your cards are standard legal.
I actually ran this online for a couple weeks. I 3-0d an 8 man but had a lot of trouble with valakut even with leyline in the SB, so I eventually abandoned it. I feel it has potential though.
I want to read the rest of Battlecry. What if it was similar to the goblin piledriver ability? It would only require 2 or 3 cards with it to push aggro over the top.
I think path would be a better choice than journey, and you may want to lower the numbers of the high cmc creatures in favor of maxing out on your best low drops. Perhaps cut the numbers of figures and students because they're best later on being fetched by ranger. Also, with the space you've made by doing that and in lieu of some of the unearth creatures and mimic vat add in some steppe lynx and plated geopede. Stir in some elspeth KE and ajani v to taste and VOILA, extended boros
I tested Iona, Sphinx of the Steel Wind, and Stormtide Leviathan. I'm unsure of which to use. Sphinx and Leviathan are at the same level of playability. Iona...isn't. Everytime I poly'd into her, the opponent used a different color to kill her.
Hix I would personally go for either Progenitus or Inkwell Leviathan, probably Progenitus. In many cases he's harder to kill than Emrakul, and cannot be chump-blocked.
