Bringing this one way back from the dead, but, I did some searching and there weren't any newer posts that really hit the same notes.
Anyhow, I checked last night to see that a sealed Heavenly Inferno (the original edition with the big commanders) is now around the $130 mark. Seems like this, and the others (around $70-75) will just continue to rise? I haven't been paying attention to MTG news lately, but there's still no rumors of these exact ones being reprinted, right? Any news on 2015 editions?
Wanted to say that I was pleased with a recent deal I had with SCG.
I put in a sell request for $1100 worth of cards (about 25 cards.) Although they said it would take 2 days for a response, one didn't come in until 4 days, but they apologized for the delay, then a day later verified my list. I sent them the cards on Wednesday, they got them on Thursday, and they paid me via Paypal today. They graded a few of the cards one grade lower than I had, but they were borderline cases, and I figured that would be the case. After the initial delay, the communication from the guys who work as buyers were quick, clear and answered all my questions.
I got rid of mine too (sold to SCG since there wasn't serious interest on Craigslist where I had them for about the same price.) I bought them for this exact reason, though I never dreamed they would be this much higher.
Good luck to all those holding out for more money. I hope it pays off, I just didn't have the balls to keep holding on to them.
I listed a full set of 20 on Craigslist a week ago for what I thought was a really good price. Only one bite, but the guy decided he couldn't spend the money. Just checked and I see that SCG Buylist price is actually a few bucks more than I was asking. Time for my first SCG buylist transaction I guess, I just don't want the hassle of ebaying them.
I would stick to what TomCat outlined and you should be safe. What he posted is exactly how I feel. I might buy from someone with less than 100 feedback if they've been an ebay member for 10+ years and have recently made some positive transactions (basically someone like me.)
Fun part is that I started playing MTG right before Fallen Empires came out. Then Ice Age came out and my brother collected the whole set. I wanted to be like him so when Homelands came out I bought a box and continued to collect a full set. In fact I have two full sets. What a waste of money/time/resources... of course I was in middle school so at least that's an excuse.
So if anyone wants a SP Homelands set I'm your guy.
I live three blocks away from the Navy Yard (and probably about 7 blocks away from the building where the shooting was happening.) Pretty crappy situation.
Thanks dude!
Come on guys, help a newb out!
Which sets will be legal in standard once BFZ is released?
Now just getting connection issues trying the two host names on the last page of this thread.
EDIT: Got it now. Had to register on the correct host (cocktrice.woogerworks.com), get the activation token, and get on.

Will this trend continue? Reprint announcement around the corner?
