How nuts will the new Tezzeret be in Cruel lists? I thought that Chandra was awesome, but this is a new level I think. Can't wait to see the Bolas PW, now.

I formatted this into a decklist to make it easier for others to give feedback.

I've sold out of Eldrazi on MTGO and I'm thinking of building this instead. I really like the two color aspect and being able to run a set of GQ's seems like big game against the new, sleeker and lower to the ground Eldrazi lists. It should be able to buy enough time until you can get the sweepers online.

I like this list a lot, but you need to come down 3 cards. I'd personally go -1 Finks, -1 Shadow of Doubt, -1 Spreading Seas to start testing. Hopefully, other with more experience can give better feedback.

Sick primer! Nice work. I still content that Thespian's Stage deserves at least a mention in the Utility Lands section. Ghost Quarters and LD are going to be everywhere with this deck's popularity skyrocketing. The Stage is a way to protect your lands and frequently smoothes out color issues for decks that run less than 4 Urborgs. I urge folks to try it in a utility land spot.

Hey everyone! I was the guy on camera up against Gerry Thompson. Would anyone here like the list?

I'd love to see the list. I was speculating on what U cards you'd included. I think reddit reported Ashiok which made me happy. Ashiok singlehandedly has me thinking about UB<>.

I haven't played or been up against the Heartless version. Do you think it's better against a diverse meta that the midrange version?

Lastly, Gerry's my favorite pro to watch. What were his comments on the deck while you guys de-boarded? Looks like it was a fun convo Smile

    Has anyone testedThespian's Stage ?

I've been running it in my MonoB list for the past week or so online in the Tourney Practice room, alongside a full playset of GQs and I think it's pretty insane. So much so that I'm tempted to make it a 2 of and replace the other utility land slot that has been a rotation. The Stage acts as insurance against GQ/Tec Edge, can become another Eldrazi Temple in a pinch, but most of all it's a great weapon in the increasingly common mirror. A common play: "Copy your Eye of Ugin, GQ your Eye of Ugin".

Speaking of fun plays...the best feel good moment with this deck has to be assembling full tron off of a single Sower activation. I hit it last night and it forced an immediate concession after a triple GQ grinder where my opponent just couldn't get it online and I didn't see any relics/claws.

Can you guys running the surprise twin package post your lists? I'm curious what the sideboards look like. Also, do you find yourselves going to the twin package G2 in most matchups? I'd imagine its weakest against BGx as they'll be leaving in discard and removal. Has the ability to snatch a quick G2 win been better than your ability to be more prepared for a wider meta? I really like the idea and used to fart around with it a bit in old school Cruel Control, but it seems much more effective here.

It's a good point. All the cards you mentioned are more flexible and I'd never cut a Command for it. I'd play it over a 4th Lili though. I feel like this deck can get by with playing some powerful singletons with all the graveyard interaction. Blightning can absolutely get an opponent hellbent while also providing solid reach.

I'll admit...it's a bit of a pet, but I think I'm going to sleeve this up and test it out. I love the idea of this Jund-style grindy Grixis.

Does anyone else feel like a Blighting works here? I've always felt like it's Modern playable, it just never seemed to fit in any other shell. Jund has too many other better options and the sorcery speed always made it a no-no for Grixis. I'd feel really good about -3ing Jace to pay 3 for its effect.

Hey Hawk, Just curious which 4 drops you're testing? KCommand has me wanting to test out Desecration Demon in multiple Grixis shells.

I've never played or Goldfished this deck, but I used to play a budget Nivix Blitz deck back in RTR standard and loved it. Looking over this list it seems like a really interesting build with the Nivmagus being able to eat all the Phyrexian mana spells when your life total is low and you don't have a Death's Shadow available.

Does this deck get anything from Day's Undoing or do you typically want to hold cards for an alpha strike? It seems like out of any Modern deck, the best chance to have possibly dumped your entire hand for value by turn 3 is here.

Sled Dog - Are you on UWR or straight U/R at this point? If Clique is the call over BRecks, does going Grixis have value?

Also, could you post your most recent list with the VCliques?

    Thanks!

On the topic of sweepers, a maindeck Anger of the Gods could be the call to answer all these copies of Kitchen finks that are running around. Every Abzan CoCo deck runs a full play set and it's run in Jund as well. The issue with Anger is that you end up having to aggressively fetch/shock to get the RR on turn 3, but it's doable. I love the idea of the one sided sweep with Languish, but I fear that T4 is often too late against hyper aggro decks.

I think Electrolyze still has a place. It's one of those flexible, multi-modal cards that has the upside of a potential 2-for-0. Against some decks it can be a blowout and I like its applications against Burn and Delver.

I'd personally shave a Thought Scour before I cut any "business". This deck is much less about landing the turn 2 unprotected delve dude.

Listening to Chapin talk matchups on his podcast and he keeps mentioning that the deck "needs a way to beat CoCo decks out of the board". This got me thinking about a pair of Ashioks as sideboard cards against any creature-heavy decks. It worked well for GFabs in his Sultai lists.

Yeah I like this train of thought. If you're looking at casting Damnation, it's typically to deal with a swarm. Having the terminates to mop up big stuff means this will replace Damnation in my board. I still like having Anger of the Gods though as I feel like when you need to sweep, the difference between turn 3 and 4 can be a HUGE gap.

I could even see mainboarding Languish as I'm running Vendilion Clique and an singleton Izzet Charm so I can cycle it if needed. The opportunity for a one-sided sweeper main is worth testing at least.
