drakeavril, did you ever consider playing in major events? like trying to earn your way into a pro tour ? that is a huge money sink, somewhat of a time for practice and travel to events... but you have the monetary means to do it, so i think you'd get a kick out o fit.
Black does almost everything worse than every other color.
You may as well give up and play a different deck, red, green, and white are super good at artifact hate, blue can steal them or coutner them. That's it.
The card could also have been colorless thing, like a Artifact creature, or a Changeling that has the same colors as your commander just to satisfy the color demands.
I don't work for WOTC, but I never back down from a design challenge. Same can't be said for the magic team.
Where is this magical store offering $50 to top prize? best I have seen is $20 credit.
Since I don't currently work, my answer to your question is, no.
But the schedules I had in the past prevented me from playing FNM, when FNM promos were great. Aside from that, I never reall yplayed magic events for the prizes. It was never the main goal I had when walking into the store.
It seems your interest to play is to earn prizes. Why not enjoy the ever changing format of Standard for what it is? You have the means, you could play a new top tier or janky brew every week, would that not be fun? I would certainly have more fun doing that over playing against the same handful of commander decks for no prizes at all.
So this is uncommon because it will probably be printed in each of the decks. Is that correct? Because honestly this is Rare-nearly mythic level from my perspective of standard formart rarities. It just has so much value built in at such a tiny cost.
Reading this thread and some others, there is a legal concern to put the action keyword of "transform" from Magic TG on a card using a Transformers license character thing.
That is all I know. This could just be the easiest way around it. I highly doubt they will change the rulings and wordings on all the Double-Faced cards. Moonmist would be quite useless if the wording did change. And at that point, I think flip cards could become like how DFCs are. ***
***Magic is a physical object game, unlike some competitors that can do weird effects making random digital objects. Momoir Sig and such are as close as you'll get to making random things. So all cards must work as printed as a physical object and why just putting, "This card becomes this other card" doesn't work.
Essence Scatter is strong. Countervailing Winds is groovy.

Is anyone else upset that Talk like a pirate day will happen just before the Ixalan Prerelease?
