Unfortunately, women aren't liked in positions of power. I'm still shocked she lost to Obama, but I think most people would have voted for Mccain over her. I also think if Hillary was the candiate in 08, Palin would never have been the VP for Mccain. The comparisons would not have been favorable.
That said I just don't get Republicans. The wealthy powerful Americans, sure. Its the average folks who are on Medicare or receiving student aid, generally just making it by who think that their problems are caused by the Democrats and Liberals in general(It is almost always you causing your problems in life). My best friend is staunchly Republican and I have no understanding of what he identifies with them about. He's very connected to Christianity, but its not like the Democrats aren't. He's obsessed with Obama's birth certificate(and Trumps idiotic challenge) but handwaves Romney's taxes as his private business. What really confuses me, is we grew up in Massachusetts during Romney's Governorship. He was hated by nearly everyone, and we know first hand that "his" education policies not only didn't work, they weren't even his. It's like he's just completely blind to these issues.
This isn't considered enough of a "drawback" when making nonbasic lands.
I submit that it does. This doesn't have any synergy with the many effects that care about "Island". Its advantage is almost negligible too, sure it would counter Wasteland...but so would an Island. I thought of this when Rishadan Port was top dog, but at the time I thought it was too good. They have hosed so much on land destruction and made nonbasic lands so much better(Mostly because there are several powerful effects that care about that land type). I'm fine with it, but I understand if you think its too good. I might at, "Reveal the top card of your library." to the mana ability. It works in flavor and is a pretty strong drawback.
I think dropping Lost Guardian to a 2/2 makes it much fairer.

Originally i had NP tap for its activated ability and that was it. It protects your board almost as well now, save Rishaden Port or something. I thought the mana flare ability seemed like a good match.
As for WE i went for eventides hybrid since its not quite as bad as dissensions.

I'm rusty, and these are probably all overpowered.
Card designers are notorious for being Johnnies. The love the clever design. Anyways, I love this card, reminds me of Iona and just seems like something U/W would want to end the game with. Slowly and painfully nullifying everything your opponent can do. It costs 6, four of which is colored. You had your chance to have fun in the first 6 turns, now its my turn to have fun. Its not even a 100% "I win". With build diversity its extremely easy to deal with.
Hardly surprising. There is an entitled class when it comes to justice. Know a judge or cop? Well, you certainly don't have to worry about misdemeanor charges.
I had friends in high school who got caught speeding multiple times way over the limit. They just mentioned their daddy's name who was a cop or flashed the business card of the DA who was their parent.
Nah too much effort, If your family of a police officer you can get a sticker to put on your car. My grandfather was deputy chief, so our family has had them for quite a while. I don't know anyone in the family who has gotten a ticket.
What about tiongs with priority? i was told last week that i cant forbidden alchemy after my mana leak resolves snipping a geist because i didnt have priority? ive read about it but its very confusing.
I can tell you now. Your going to have a rough day. Every opponent will fully understand every nuance of the rules, if you need to brush up try playing magic online.
Basically you can cast instants whenever you have priority, at the end of your opponents turn is the usual time they are fired off.
