Been looking at block constructed to see which shocks to pick up.
So far hallowed fountain, watery grave, blood crypt, steam vents and godless shrine seem like the best bets to invest in.
No clue what theros could bring to the table though.
WB: Resurrect <cost> (Cost, Exile this card from your graveyard: Put a token onto the battlefield that’s a copy of this card. Resurrect only as a sorcery.)
(Back from the brink as a mechanic.)
BG: Blight X (This permanent enters the battlefield with X -1/-1 counters on it. Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may move a -1/-1 counter from this permanent onto it.)
(reverse graft)
GU: Envision - Whenever you draw a card, do X.
(DrawFall)
RU: Infuse <cost> (As you cast an Instant or Sorcery spell, if this card is in your graveyard you may pay its infuse cost. If you do, add this card’s effects to that spell.)
(splice onto from the grave)
WR: Skirmish X (Whenever a creature blocks this creature, the blocking creature gets -X/-X until end of turn.)
(Fixed flanking that interacts with other flankers, and it scales up just like Bushido.)
Any suggestions on ways to improve any of the mechanics?
Warp the AEther is dumb. Genesis Wave needs its drawback. (which is very much not a big deal)
Casus Belli - I really don't think that an extra 1 mana over Plague Wind should change destroy to exile, creatures to non-land permanents AND add the there's-very-little-point-in-actually-countering-this text. Also, I don't like the mechanic. Only letting blue (maybe red) interact with this seems like a poor design decision.
On wycast: Designed him as a spell based Animar but totally forgot the power of buyback combined with the cost reduction, I'll have to come up with some changes.
Warp the Aether: I was trying to come up with a buffed genesis wave, but I guess it's too buffed. I'll figure out some alternatives.
Casus Belli: I was going by adding the white mana gives a precedent to exile instead of destroy. Yea the nonland bit is a bit over the top so I might have to do some more tweaks.
And for the last bit of it; I wanted some way of ensuring that the spell resolved, and since can't be countered doesn't fall into the territory of white/black. I decided on the wording it had.
I'll have to make some adjustments to these 3 cards a bit later.
Firstly the three planeswalker's I'm going to use in my block:
Shanay Vorst
M 3UU Planeswalker Shanay
Starting Loyalty:4
+1:Look at the top five cards of your library. You may reveal an instant or sorcery card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
-3:Target player skips his or her next untap step.
-9:You get an emblem with “Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, you may copy it for each spell cast before it this turn. You may choose new targets for the copies.”
Gantas Riz
M 1RW Planeswalker - Gantas
Starting Loyalty: 3
+1: Until your next turn, creatures you control get +1/+0.
-1: Put a 1/1 red and white soldier creature token with first strike onto the battlefield.
-7: You get an emblem with “You choose which creatures block each turn and how those creatures block.”
Idris Dae
M 1BG Planeswalker - Idris
Starting Loyalty: 3
+1: Discard a card. If a card is discarded this way, then you may return a creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
-2: Target creature gains deathtouch until end of turn and must be blocked this turn if able.
-9: You get an emblem with “Whenever a creature you own dies, you may return it to the battlefield under your control.”
Then a couple of Non-walker Mythics.
Warp the Æther
M XGGUU Sorcery
Reveal the top X cards of your library. You may put any number of permanent cards with converted mana cost X or less from among them onto the battlefield. Then put all cards revealed this way that weren’t put onto the battlefield into your hand.
Wycast, the Trickster
M UURR Human Wizard
1/1
Protection from spells and other wizards
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell put a +1/+1 counter on Wycast.
Instant and sorcery spells you cast cost 1 less for each +1/+1 counter on Wycast, the Trickster.
Casus Belli
M 6WWBB Sorcery
When Casus Belli becomes target of another spell destroy all nonland permanents.
Exile all nonland permanents each opponent controls. Exile Casus Belli.
So Infuse is just "Splice onto Instant or Sorcery"?
Basically, yea.
The other version of infuse was like this:
Infuse <cost> (As you cast an Instant or Sorcery spell, if this card is in your graveyard you may pay its infuse cost. If you do, add this card’s effects to that spell.)
It'll probably be Xenagos vs Elspeth
Zendikar was meant to be a world inspired by DnD, minus the dwarfs and such.
There is a GB rare in Theros. There also isn't a GB temple in Theros.
They'll be viable in this upcoming standard.
Damn I knew I was forgetting one.
