The first clause would prevent it from being disastrous with Bleeding Scent. I'll change its origin to Marvindul.
I see what you are saying. I know the Gray Lotus example was rather cheap, but helps strike home the importance of designing cards that make sense in an updated standard enviroment. Cards like pithing needle and progenitus relic or Life from the Loam show you can design cards for older formats, as long as you dont disrupt standard with them.
Now, seeing the lenghts Wizards have gone in the two latest years to prevent LD from being a dominant format, I think it's safe to say they wouldn't let this one pass. Note how it is actually better than even its prehistoric counterparts; that alone should raise an alarm.
But yeah I guess it's not really warrant of an argument as the card had no chances of a vote today being rather a mundane effect.
