Big LGS RIX pre-release saw much lower numbers. Midnight was fine but Saturday events didn't fill. Only 2H giant on Sat filled (limited to 16 teams) with Sunday events all barely signed up for.
You can talk reasons all day but the fact is LGS standard participation is barely existent in previously fertile ground and the disappointment is spreading to new product releases.
I was only able to attend friday night's midnight event, and I have to say the Elder Dinos were certainly an advantage, my promo was Bishop of Binding and due to my horrid luck at pulls I didn't get enough vamps to use it and ended up going with RG Dinos. I was usually able to hold my own until my opponents dropped their Elder dino promo...then it was game over -_-; But I don't know how saturday ended up being. Unlike your event it wasn't due to a lack of interest more of a scheduling conflict as many of the players reported that they had to work during the scheduled event times on Saturday.
Yeah....I know...This is more intended for casual play. I'm not really worried about running into that too much.

Relentless Rats is one of those magical christmas land cards. It looked like a bunch of fun in fifth dawn but back then we had to deal with engineered explosives. Today is his little brother ratchet bomb. If you really must though I'd do like 8 forest and 12 swamp and add like 2 genesis wave. You need some crowd control so vendetta?
I was thinking maybe Duress instead of Kozilek? Or maybe drop Corrupt for a couple? The essential idea is to try to flood the field with rats as quickly as possible with some hand control.
Yeah it'll probably run you about $500-600 for a good low cost one. And if you're spending the big bucks might as well get your money's worth, I'd recommend checking out Alienware, iirc they have good gaming laptops.
Basically you want gobs of RAM, high-speed graphics and durable battery.

I'll definitely give it a try.

Good luck with it though.

In the greater scheme of things, it's probably trivial, but I thought I'd point it out
